I ran Days Gone on old PC hardware (iGPU) at 720/30.

PC gaming can be expensive, but could be cheap too. I tried Days Gone with a $120 cpu with integrated graphics (Ryzen 3 3200g) and the results were surprising. At 720p and medium settings the game runs perfectly at 30 fps. So props to AMD for making such a great cheap option (Can play Resident Evil 8 too) and props to Sony for the great PC port.

Ask me about my wife's perfect butthole
That's pretty cool.. but some parts of the game will probably barely work.

Reminds me of being excited firing up Civ V on a little flip-screen Dell I had.. and it ran great.. until like turn 50 when it started taking 20 minutes to change turns lol

just need to lower the shadows when there's too much thing going on.

You'll need to play the game for like 20+ hours to get to the parts where there is a lot going on.

Then play another 20 hours and what's "going on" triples in complexity.
And I'm not going to do that, but this is far from the most intensive game for example cyberpunk or Red dead redemption 2 run well on this thing too. Either way, Not trying to say this is the best way to play, just saying this is an option. There's a lot of people building a PC just to play fortnite and minecraft when this little cpu can run those games flawlessly.

Sorry but we clearly have differing interpretations of the word "prefect".

This is one of the rare cases where I'd say someone would be better off just getting a console to play these games.

Once you calculate the cost of a 3200g build, even without the graphics card, you could probably get a last gen upgraded console (pro or one X) and still have some spare change.

By these comments you can see who doesn't know jack shit about how impossible this was a few years ago! We're talking about a cheap quad core cpu.

Can you buy just the CPU and plug it in to your TV/monitor and play the games mentioned in the OP? Once you calculate what else you need it's 100% not worth it.

Go big or go home.

As somebody that grew up with a PC that was lucky to run games at all (anything north of 20fps was a dream come true) I get it, I really do. It's cool in an academic sort of way, but playing a game like that these days is kind of difficult.
That's exactly how I see it, to me it's impressive that a little cpu can do this and I'm kinda excited for the future of apus.

can a ps4 do this?

Again, the thread is to show the power of low end apus these days. y'all stressed for no reason.

If you're someone thinking about playing BOTW and this is the best PC you can get for your money then just get a switch ffs.

You're behaving like the resolutions and framerates being displayed make this endeavour worth it. They really don't.

This is a nice experimental example of "how far we've come" but it's not practical in the slightest.

with the current prices of pc hardware no, but at the time I bought this for $100, you can easily build a 3200g pc with $300 that will be a lot more useful than a ps4. what if someone needs a PC and not a PS4? what if someone lives in Brazil where the prices for stuff are really bad.
What if someone wants to build a media PC, or a mini PC for emulation. There a lot of scenarios to prefer a 3200g build than a ps4.

Not practical when Walmart is selling PCs that can barely run n64 games for $600?

With GPU shortages, it’s a legit choice. Also not everyone can throw ~>500$ on a GPU. There’s a lot of peoples out there who game on PC with toasters and that’s the beauty of PC gaming, it’s so scalable that typical games can run on potatoes, but also a nuclear powered RGB rainbow shitting gAmEr rig.

Also for mini pc builds

Go big to what? A 1000€ 3060?
Just sold a R9 280x for 150€ plus shipping on eBay, GPU prices are insane right now.
Even 3GB 1060 are selling for 200€ plus, not to mention the 6GB variants.

If I didn't already have a pre-COVID PC, you'd bet I'd be playing 720p/30 on an APU. Hell I'm debating right now selling my 5700XT for 800€ plus and game on an APU.

I cry about SonyGaf from my chair in Redmond, WA
Why is it that a PC game at 30fps doesn't look as fluid as the console version at the same rate..?
Probably because the console version uses a lot of bloom or some other filter.

Both are tanky controls.

As if the switch runs this game any better.

Theres also the point that people might be interested in other games that aren't available on the switch, or that they might actually need the PC for other things.

the funny thing is this cpu runs the game at a higher resolution and more details than the switch. Not saying it's "better than a switch" but like you said, people need computers for other things. If I'm going to buy a $600 pc at walmart that can barely do anything, I thing this is the better option.

At this point, the pc is still more expensive than ps5 :p
I would just get ps4 slim or something for 150 and not torture myself
