Looking at the DF video and seeing them go from Forbidden West back to Zero Dawn at some points really shows how much better this sequel looks over the original. Zero Dawn looks rudimentary by comparison.
Well..people tend to get wet while submerged in water. Aloy was instant dry coming out of the sea.Serious Q - What would 6 months of time do? What are some of the tasks the developers need to do to achieve the polish in this time frame?
Yeah I'm with you man. Even a lack of sound from walking in sand and some of the stealth animations don't look the best. Sure visually the game looks really good but the fact this is a very controlled demo environment and we can so easily point out lack of details is telling. This is only the first gameplay showing as well. People seem to forget that Horizon Zero Dawn showed some gameplay footage from the first reveal trailer.Well..people tend to get wet while submerged in water. Aloy was instant dry coming out of the sea.
There is almost no life in the trees while the gameplay section was around the sea. Is there really no wind there?
The grass, as in HZD, doesn't move when Aloy is walking around. They should have fixed this in the sequel...they didn't.
Games developed for the PS5 runs perfectly in 60fps. HFW is a cross gen game and Guerrilla choose to show in 30fps, footage from a PS5 console! The game looks beautiful for sure, it's far from ready. As in, not ready for 2021.
Guerrilla Games have lifted the lid on Horizon Forbidden West, showing off a meaty chunk of new gameplay footage for the open world action RPG. As the sequel to one of the PS4's most beloved games, it goes without saying that there's a lot of excitement surrounding the game, and in the recent State of Play, we were treated to several new details on the game.
Here, we're going to talk about the biggest talking points from the showing.
I don't know how we ended talking DS vs horizon graphics, but i disagree, DS is better for some things, worse in others.I didn’t play RDR 2 that much to be honest so I don’t have an opinion on that. But you can’t deny the fact that Death Stranding technically is far better than HZD.

The open world is almost completely barren while horizon has both animals, dinobot and humans roaming through the map, so more things to render, also more destruction between rocks and trees , DS has few human enemy camp and very little more.
Also, and this is a personal opinion, there is nothing inside DS that impressed me more than a thunderjaw in horizon.
DS has better textures for the locations and the faces are better and with much better digital acting also the water and grass are better.
They have different art style, horizon is more colorful and slightly cartoony, DS is more bleak and super realistic, they have different points of strenght imo, they are both incredibles.
this is more impressive than a thunderjaw. in fact it's one of the most impressive things i've seen these last few years
Yes. I meant the entire thingI'm more impressed by the black goo fluid simulation tbh
Oh for sure you can start to notice a few technical hiccups here and there after repeat watches. There were even some instances of pop-in in that demo.Until it doesn't for the last 2 shots. There is a lot of consistency issue with how different things interact with each other. Also notice how the last shot is coming away from the actual weapon.
Looks great. Here's MBG gushing about it, if it hasn't already been posted:
shitesssss on any pc , no screen door effect to graphics
No worse than warp points that avoid huge chunks of, well, everything. It's very much something you could work up to in the game.Completely defeats the point of having an open world if you can just cheat and fly everywhere. It would ruin the exploration aspect.
You mean as in it’s obvious? OrIs this even a valid argument?
Graphics is essentially what this game will sell on ( per usual ).Graphically, looks fantastic. Doesn't really seem like gameplay has improved much. Other than the graphics, gotta say I'm a little underwhelmed. Still, does look very pretty.
When you see the side by side comparisons to the original game, I'd firmly believe we can play what we saw at SoP. The original still looks amazing on my OLED.
The game looks amazing but it didn't blow me away, its just a really good looking game. I was expecting this quality at 60fps tbh, since its cross gen. Maybe im not blown away because of how it looks like Uncharted 4 but with little bit more detail and folliage. I mean drake's model is comparable to aloy's model and the environment has also alot of similarities. Im not saying that HFW looks like UC4, what im saying is it looks good but not a gen ahead more like 1.5 (just like you would expect from a cross gen game).
shits on any pc for price..., find it hard to see any jaggies on p5 , thus it looks smoother and more 3d , less screen door effect. stead of looking at a screen , i feel with good hdr and sharp , yet smooth graphics , i am looking into a world on tv , not at world on screen... get me??huh? lol
The above opinion sir is to be respected. I agree with you while I have my personal opinions (as everyone). Thanks for having a nice conversation on that matter.I don't know how we ended talking DS vs horizon graphics, but i disagree, DS is better for some things, worse in others.

Screen door effect is a display issue. Just depends on your monitor on PC (but people also use TVs.)shits on any pc for price..., find it hard to see any jaggies on p5 , thus it looks smoother and more 3d , less screen door effect. stead of looking at a screen , i feel with good hdr and sharp , yet smooth graphics , i am looking into a world on tv , not at world on screen... get me??
By now we expect from Sony first parties a Quality and a Performance mode. I favour quality and I am ok with 30fps that deliver this kind of experience. If you want to play 60, you'll have the option and you can do what you want. You mean as in it’s obvious? Or
I'll assume they based it on the Velociraptor since it bears an uncanny resemblance to it.
Technically Deinonychus in both JP and HFW case, maybe Utahraptor in the latter. But yes, definitely Dromaeosauridae.I'll assume they based it on the Velociraptor since it bears an uncanny resemblance to it.
Honestly, I almost forgot about the existence of the Deinonychus. Thanks for bringing it up!!!Technically Deinonychus in both JP and HFW case, maybe Utahraptor in the latter. But yes, definitely Dromaeosauridae.

its a display issue , but the smoothing of the graphics , seems to have had the same effect, more depth.Screen door effect is a display issue. Just depends on your monitor on PC (but people also use TVs.)

When do we get our Trespasser remake?!?!
Well I mean both trailers were pre-release. We have no idea how old the build is we just saw for Horizon 2. So it's still worth comparing. I'd say it's pretty likely the release build will have more polish to it.Nice, but a better comparison would be the final game instead of the two year old mid development vertical slice. the final game looks way better than that trailer.
I had more beef with the exploded box of crayons color pallet and goofy tribal armor art direction than the technical aspects. But then again HZD trailers didn't do anything for me. When it came out on PC I bought it out of boredom and enjoyed it way more than I expected. Luckily the trailer didn't make me want to rush out and buy a PS5 to play it sooner. I'm sure it'll be good enough to kill some time with when it drops on Steam in a couple years.
The most exciting part of the whole video.
Game looks great...except for Aloy. I mean, she was no looker in the first game but she got that alcoholic, bloated face going on now. Fugly as hell. It's like these developers go out of their way to make ugly women these days.
