I bought PS5 from scalper (just for system-seller Ratchet & Clank) and here is funny thing about it...

We scheduled meeting with scalper around his apartment in the center of the city, and he came out to me wearing an uniform of big media retail chain.
He gave me the PS5 and I paid, and since it was obvious he got out for a break from work just to sell me the console he scalped, he explained that each time there is new shipment of new consoles coming, all of the workers of this retailer split all the consoles between them and sell with great profit.
Man, I hate it, this should stop but now it makes sense why there is barely any console available at the original price.

Buying something like a console in person in a public place is kinda dangerous. You can get mugged, the box can be filled with bricks... there are so many negative scenarious to think of. And yeah, buying from scalpers is shitty.

Nice little bullshit story you made up in your head.

Out of sheer curiosity: How much did you bought it for?

I can't imagine someone being stupid enough to turn up in their work uniform and brag about buying and reselling a console from their own place of work, to someone they are ripping off...

(imagine there is the x for doubt picture here, I can't get it to attach no matter how I tried)

Also if you follow a page like deals foundry on twitter with the bell on, the ps5 and series x are really not that hard to obtain.

Anyway if true and you was silly enough to buy from someone bragging to your face about how shady he and his work mates are, where is your dignity? I hope you find your purchase worth it and have fun regardless though. :)

I remember a time when people tried to more or less hide the shitty things they did.
It seem nowdays they just don't care.
And at the same time everyone (on social media) is looking for ways to denigrate others because they do not abide to their extremely strict moral code (of which they stray of course)...
We live in truly schizophrenic times.
I think it's marketing's fault, showing us "false reality" to make us buy stuff. Makes me sad but then i read you guys and you make me laugh ;)

if you're lucky , you can find a p5 , for not much more extra , than a price of a game. bowt 100 to 105 more, than rrp , and postage. anymore , your a sucker , imo...

My fantasy is that my girlfriend was actually a young high school girl.
As long as there are people like you, there will be people like him.

I'm mostly surprised that you consider Ratchet and Clank a "system seller" - it looks like a fun game, and I expect I will get a copy once I get a PS5, but it's certainly not something I would consider justifying the purchase of the machine on it's own, even at list price.

Sorry you had to go through that BS OP. It will be worth it for RnC and the other games already out there. This is coming from someone who’s spent around 20 hrs with the game.

Was it Best Buy? They did the same thing with the PS3.

Is it against the store policy for employees to buy the products upon release?
I haven't worked retail in an electronics or general merch store like best buy or walmart, but I know at lowes it was frowned upon to hold stuff to buy as an employee. Especially seasonal stuff, or the black friday stuff. It wasn't actually against company policy, but you could get a stern talking to.

At $500 profit a pop, I'll take that stern talking to from my boss paying me minimum wage.

Report the incident to the retailer, I'm sure they can track where the PS5 console came from and which employee bought it.

Who knows, kick up enough fuss and they might even reimburse you for the money you got scalped by. But that depends on the retailer of course.
