What? that's a weird one, you can't buy the game?
You can buy physical copies, or keys from key sellers. But it wouldnt be on xbox store,

This is due to license issues. Cars and music have certain license period for Forza series.

It will be either free with gold or 5 dollars with all expaisions very soon just like all the previous forzas
Forza 7 delisting is weird since there is no motorsport game till the next one came atleast wait till the next one is close
Well under usual circumstance, 4 years would mean 1-2 Motorsport games, and 1-2 Horizon games will of come after. Its different this time because of Motorsport getting anew engine, and moving to next gen.

If you have it through Game Pass will they just remove access? Sucks if so. And 4 years is way, way too short a lifespan for a game, and for licensing of the cars therein.

That said, I thought Forza 7 was really disappointing. The games haven't moved on over the past few iterations, the music sucked, it was pretty sterile, it was clearly designed around microtransactions. Compared to the Horizon games it doesn't feel like the same insane level of effort went into it, and compared to GT Sport it felt like it was missing some soul.

Hopefully they get back on track with Forza 8.

Just keep it on gamepass and don't let anyone buy it or that shit doesn't work ?
They are deleting it from Gamepass too.

I actually bought the car pass for Forza 7 but never the game (it was on GP) and now they might give it to me for free lol it's on sale for $10 anyway.

The same thing will happen to Horizon 4 ☹

So it seems its on sale from now until it gets delisted on September 15th, for those of us in the UK its £7.49 for standard edition or £17.49 for the ultimate edition you're welcome.

Yeah they did the same thing with Horizon 3.
The Ultimate Edition is def worth that price imo.

This is the worst thing that happens in gaming.

Outrun coast 2 coast was the same and I didn't buy it when it was available.

In fact there's quite a few games that feature music or cars that are unobtainable now unless you can find a disc copy if one was actually made.

Okay, I think that's really stupid ... I like to play Forza (especially Forza Horizon), but mostly only years later. So this is pretty disappointing!
You can still buy it right now and still have it forever. But as others have said perhaps wait until closer to the cut off date. The game could end up as a Games with Gold game or be on sale cheap.
But after the cut off.... that's it. No more.

Its happened with all the Forza games, including Horizon.
Its to do with the car and music licenses running out.
You can't buy FH 1-3 for example, companies don't want to pay licensing fees for music or possibly even cars.

But they´re apparently giving a "free" code that will last until 2023. Meaning the licenses for each car is (still) valid up to that point? Makes no sense to delist it, and still send an email with a "free code".

Bet it has more to do with them moving to the next game aka "please, buy the next installment of Xx this fall!". They´re going to have to re-license the cars anyway for the new game, why would they have to drop the old game because? if the car is the same model and so on.

It would be extorsion if they were forced to pay twice for each game installment (imho). Music might be a different problem, but this can be solved by letting the user use their own CD (like on some PS1 game back in the stone age).

You can download games tho, I am still able to access FH1-3 , existing copies still works, it's just they don't have licence...to licence it further. If that makes sense...

Don't you just love it when games are delisted a mere 4 years after it launched....

Don't you just love when people complain over nothing, Microsoft is doing good, they didn't have to do this pretty cool incentive but they have (even though I've never purchased dlc, as far as I am aware)

Edit: retail copies are not going to magically vanish either...they will still work too.

Plays with kids toys, in the adult gaming world
I learned by lesson after Forza 2 haven't bought a Forza game since....rushing to get that Car Broker achievement before the servers shut down.....bad times

I always buy the Ultimate Editions of these games but I really couldn't get into this one for some reason so I've only played a couple of hours of it so far. I should start it up and buy all the stuff that should be free to me before I lose the option to do that.
