this has quite literally nothing to do with gamepass
It has to do with how Microsoft handles games long term.

lol @ bringing up Sony, I'm not a console war fanboy. I don't like how Microsoft handles software.tell me a Sony MP only game that is still online and playable today.
tell me a PS3 game that is still playable online today
you can't
and again, no, this has nothing to do with anything of the sort. this is simply cat licenses running out
If you can find a physical copy of Ultimate edition for sale then you can get the DLC's for FH3 as they are all on there.Shame. I want the DLCs for Horizon 3 but no luck. Is there no chance to get them on Xbox somehow?

Don't you just love when people complain over nothing, Microsoft is doing good, they didn't have to do this pretty cool incentive but they have (even though I've never purchased dlc, as far as I am aware)
Edit: retail copies are not going to magically vanish either...they will still work too.
Ok it's time to buy the cheapest dlc available lolI just got a message from Xbox about it:
Free - nice
Ok it's time to buy the cheapest dlc available lol
talking about Motorsport not horizoni don't think they've shut servers down, horizon 3 is still up i think
Can you? A search for gran Turismo on the PlayStation store only shows gran turismo sportthis doesnt apply to GT games which you can still buy.
I think so, see my comment to the other poster in this same post. They can't be found on the PlayStation storeDid Gran Turismo go off the market in the past too?
Warhawk and Demon's Souls are running on fan servers, you can play them today. Battlefield 3 is still going. Those are just 3 of the games I have.tell me a PS3 game that is still playable online today

But I guess only a sealed copy would work as they are codes, not on disc.If you can find a physical copy of Ultimate edition for sale then you can get the DLC's for FH3 as they are all on there.
I did the opposite. I’ve bought all the Forza games since then, so I am able to enjoy them whenever I like.I learned by lesson after Forza 2 haven't bought a Forza game since....rushing to get that Car Broker achievement before the servers shut down.....bad times
You obviously just want a reason to bitch and moan, so I'm not even going to waste my time. No? Microsoft promised that all first party titles would remain permanently on Game Pass. This was a first party title, people bought DLC for it because they believed the game would be permanently available through Game Pass. What kind of backlash do you think they would get now if they just ran away with the money people wasted on DLC and how much trust do you think that would inspire on people thinking about buying DLC for Game Pass games?

Don't you just love it when games are delisted a mere 4 years after it launched....
You’ll still be able to do everything you can do now in the game, even after this date.It really puts me off how quickly Microsoft is ending the support of the Forza games. It especially hurts now when there's no FM8 for at least another year.
? Has nothing to do with digital or not.As always: DIGITAL FUTURE baby.
It's not their fault, it's the car manufacturers faults. Nothing MS can do about it other than continue to pay for licenses that likely cost more than any sales they'll make on a 4 year old game.I hate how they do this with Forza. The games are gone forever, into oblivion. Well if you dont own the game.
Stupid licenses.
It only really applies to digital, since they stop making physical copies long before 4 years after release. Gran Turismo has only had like 3 actual digitally available games (5, 6, Sport), whereas forza has had like 10 by this point.I had no idea this was a thing. Did Gran Turismo go off the market in the past too?
Ok...so when we heard MS was doing some DRM, online only console, let me remind folks that THIS was what they fucking had a plan for. So its clear that with a digital only concept, MS, EA, Activision would be going HAM on this shit lol Every time a AC, Call Of Duty, Madden, new Forza etc would come out, they'd just stop people from buying the older ones lol
A ACESHIGH Sure, but they can just release it without those tracts, but then again I don't really know all the details to that, like maybe its locked in based on some weird contract lol
I don't know.
Sucks regardless.
Let me just get it out of my system, um "but MS waNts to pResErve dA gAmEZ" lol
Yeah unfortunately its the same with Codemasters racers too, except i belive its 6 years before they take their games off of sale. Can you buy gran turismos 1 to 6 on Sony platforms from their stores? This happens to almost every single game with licenses. If they are not renewed its either remove the licensed content or delist the game. And in a game like Forza or GT you can't just modify 750+ cars to keep the game in a storefront.

Especially with all the DMCA shit recently. I dont know why studios dont just make their own music from now on, or pay a band to make the music.I see, I had a feeling it wasn't just a "keep the music off and the game good" lol
Sounds too simple and those legal issues can be crazy. This shit makes me never want licensed shit in those games lol
How this has anything to do with Gamepass when its also leaving Gamepass? And since you mentioned Sony, good luck playing Drive Club, at least FM7 servers will still be online.lol @ bringing up Sony, I'm not a console war fanboy. I don't like how Microsoft handles software.

People are too dumb or trolling. By this logic MS would be delisting every first party game on gamepass, which makes no sense.Wait, what does this have to do with gamepass again?
Forza has always been on the 4 year delist cycle from quite early on. This isnt anything new.
Motorsport 4 has an final edition disc release that had all the cars on it. Unlike an online license you can rebuy if you it for sale. But I guess only a sealed copy would work as they are codes, not on disc.
The dics are backwards compatible on Xbox, is this something specific for Forza?Motorsport 4 has an final edition disc release that had all the cars on it. Unlike an online license you can rebuy if you it for sale.
downside of disc-based Forza is I don’t think they’re backwards compatible.
it’s not much better on the Sony side as the disc based racers from PS4 (while BC) are online focused and never got complete edition discs.
a shitty state of affairs if you’re a racing game fan.
Forza 1 Xbox can play on 360. Forza Motorsport 4 360 can’t play on xbone. The dics are backwards compatible on Xbox, is this something specific for Forza?
No because the DLC came on the disc and not as codes. But I guess only a sealed copy would work as they are codes, not on disc.

I know it doesn't change things for existing users, but not being able to buy a new digital Forza Motorsport for probably about a year (I'm assuming FM8 is coming in Q3/Q4 of next year) looks bad and it won't help in introducing new players to the series. Plus not being able to buy DLC's will hurt if you're playing and enjoying the game and want more content. You’ll still be able to do everything you can do now in the game, even after this date.
The only difference will be that new people can’t buy it.
Tbh if you or anyone of you who are upset by this news cared about Forza Motorsport or was intersted in playing it then you all would have bought it by now. So stop it. Ok?Hate this licensing shit.
Years later? You like Forza Horizon but you don't buy it for years after release? So when 5 comes out you'll be playing Horizon 3?Okay, I think that's really stupid ... I like to play Forza (especially Forza Horizon), but mostly only years later. So this is pretty disappointing!
This isn't a thing specific to Microsoft/Xbox. It's a digital licensing thing. You'd be better off bitching at the license holders for various car brands and music...lol @ bringing up Sony, I'm not a console war fanboy. I don't like how Microsoft handles software.
Microsoft is not competing with Sony, they are competing with the entire game publishing model. It's like Netflix vs. old school TV and moves.
I mean, to be fair, this is pretty common especially with people who have massive backlogs and/or like to save money by purchasing older games with a large discount.Years later? You like Forza Horizon but you don't buy it for years after release? So when 5 comes out you'll be playing Horizon 3?
Uh oh, watch out and stand back everyone a verified Sony Warrior (TM) has entered the fray...Thgought they were commited to game preservation.
Why not renew them? Does ms not have the money?tell me a Sony MP only game that is still online and playable today.
tell me a PS3 game that is still playable online today

That's usually months not years.I mean, to be fair, this is pretty common especially with people who have massive backlogs and/or like to save money by purchasing older games with a large discount.
>buying games in le current yearTbh if you or anyone of you who are upset by this news cared about Forza Motorsport or was intersted in playing it then you all would have bought it by now. So stop it. Ok?
If you have not bought the game in 4 years that means you don't care and you just doing concerned trolling.
