PES successor eFootball will have a $40 DLC that can't be used for 2 months

Pro Evolution Soccer’s successor eFootball has a $40 ‘premium’ pre-order including microtransaction content that can’t be used until two months after launch.

Although the game is free-to-play, a pre-order has just gone live on the Xbox and PlayStation stores revealing an “eFootball 2022 Premium Player Pack”, priced at $39.99 / £32.98.

This bundle includes the base eFootball game, 6 ‘Chance Deals’, 2800 eFootball Coins and a further 2 Chance Deals for pre-ordering in advance.

However, none of the Chance Deals or eFootball Coins can be used until “after the update scheduled for mid-November of 2021”.

What on earth have Konami been doing for these past few years. It's sad seeing PES have such a fall from grace like this.

I believe even Master League will be a priced DLC later down the line.

You're most likely right. I couldn't actually tell you what this game is launching with other than the 9 licensed teams they have. Even some of the base features like power passes are being added down the line. This is a total disaster and I won't be surprised if only FIFA endures this console generation.

At this rate the game will probably die before those items even become available.

F2P could be a good idea, but I have doubts in how Konami handles it. Besides, a season is a season. Its well underway once the game is kind of feature complete.

It seems like Konami is hell bent on destroying PES, even last years was pretty good and felt fair in terms of its UT comparisson, but yea FIFA is looking more of a solid choice and thats fucking saying something

Until fifa allow more than one game to use all teams and players, pro evo or whatever else haven't got a chance and EA fifa football games will just dominate.

Zero competition
To be honest I don't give a shit about licensed teams, just give me a tight football game and the ability to import teams, leagues, kits etc. I can't really be bothered with all the online blind box buying stuff, but I know now I'm the minority.

We don't even get Edit Mode at launch. Shambles.
