Hitman Trilogy Announced

To be clear this trilogy will have all 3 in one package, the Hitman 3 stand-alone you will still need to have bought the other games on that store to bring them over into 3.
i guess I will need to buy them separately. I just bought 1 now for steam. only 2 and 3 left. Will wait for them to be cheap.

Did they fix the broken HDR for Hitman 3 on consoles?

Nah and its broken on every platform. Plus its not just HDR, its the overall presentation thats broken in some way, so SDR is as bad if not worse. I've been through the ringer on this one, contracted support, devs on twitter/linkedin and via the subreddit but they don't have an answer or they just said "we're working on it".

H1/H2 are in my top 5 games of recent years but I had to stop after about 10-12 hours with H3 because of the messed up presentation, I'll wait until Spring and if there no sign of any change I'll just play it since I'll lose interest if I have to wait til an eventual remaster/re-release.

In all honesty is the worse of the trilogy. Some area are really meh and with minimal exploration; the last level is the apotheosis of wtf moments, what it has to do such level design in a game like Hitman. Seems rushed as hell and definitely a step down of the previous.
And yet I can’t think of any other game released in 2021 that I have played longer/more and also enjoyed more. Mind you I also play the first maps in H3 just like anyone else I presume.

Forgot to mention that this one gave us the Chongqing, which is easily in the top 5 for me of all the maps throughout the games. Great target placements for both speedruns and creative kills (which is why I’m such a fan of Hitman franchise to begin with) + an excellent map for contracts.

Considering they fucked their loyal steam fan base who supported them A LOT when theyw ere making Hitman 1 and 2 just to cash in on that Epic cash I dont think I'll buy Hitman 3 on PC. I mean I loved it on console and I wanted to see that ending and in any other case I would double dip for such an amazing franchise but I dunno. Maybe I'll buy it cheap off soem grey market so they dont get shit.

Is this satire? If you are truly this mega fan of the series and want to play it so bad just sign up for the epic games store and play it you fuckin baby.

Imagine being this beholden to a videogame distribution platform

Right? There’s so many people on gaming forums with weird and ridiculous hangups like this. Like the guy above who gets angry because he has to make an account with IO, so angry that he feels justified in pirating it instead. It’s just weird. I feel the same about those who complain about “always online”, just get a stable internet connection and stfu lol. No one wants to wade through your boring complaints because you still live in the year 1997.

To add to this... we are lucky as fuck that these modern Hitman games were even made. There is literally no other game like this on the market and, lets be honest, this type of game has a fairly niche appeal. If IO didn't push through and make these games, we would not have a game like this to play.

The fact that IO recovered from that Hitman: Absolution disaster and delivered not one but three Hitman experiences on par with Hitman Blood Money in between being bought, sold, independent, etc is a near act of God. They can require an account or take Epic's money... they fucking deserve it.

Can also just wait if you really prefer Steam. it's not like there aren't thousands of other games out there. I wanted to play Darkest Dungeon 2 when it's in beta so I bought it on EGS. If I didn't I would have waited until it came to Steam.

And on top of that if you want a unified library there are universal launchers like GOG Galaxy that make it easier than manually adding a game to Steam. I primarily launch games from GOG Galaxy because I have a stupid number of free games from Amazon, EGS, and elsewhere, along with Game Pass, in addition to stuff I bought outside Steam.

The only thing interesting is the FREELANCER update. Like most others I'm annoyed that the game took this long to get to STEAM (after getting HM3 on EPIC and then again on PS5 because I had both previous games there) and the AWFUL upgrade system they utilized.

. . .I will say this stuff - despite being overall underwhelming (the choppiness of VR is just disorienting) it is leagues better than the really awful SEVEN DEADLY SINS dlc that carried them throughout this last year. Just really bad stuff.

I like these games but you have to turn off all of the assistance shit like "Hitman vision" and the mini-map to make it a challenge. Also, the weapons and gear seem utterly superfluous because if you have to directly engage a target then you have basically already lost and need to restart the level.

This is definitely true, though some of the weapons that you unlock are needed for certain map challenges.

I don't think EPIC shouldn't exist, but it is a little silly critiquing someone for not being happy that their libraries would have to be split to play the latest game in a series, particularly when there is a benefit to rerunning previous content in the new engine (as with HITMAN 3).

While I loved the base game of Hitman 3 it’s pretty much the only game in the trilogy I where I wasn’t interested at all by the DLC (at least so far). The biggest selling point of the previous ones for me was having brand new maps, so it’s kind of a hard sell when the all of the DLC is just recycling maps we already have.

All season passes included? :pie_thinking:
They haven’t said anything I can find, but it would be pretty scummy not to at least include it for the first two games (I can understand not including it for Hitman 3 since they’re still releasing content).

This dude talking about morals in regards to a videogame distribution platform that isn't the one he's pledged a blood oath to! Hahahah

"videogame distribution platform" you keep using that word to make a point but what you're saying is, you'd buy food from a bum on the street, since the source of purchase does not matter. Good luck with that :)

Thread made me start playing it again and man it still randomly disconnects you from the servers, it’s probably going to be pretty painful to play once it hits Gamepass and more people overload them.

I have the GOTY versions of HM 1 and HM 2. If I get HM3 standalone, will I have the same as If I'd buy this trilogy, or does the trilogy version have any enhancements not in the standalone releases?

If I had to go back and play a franchise Hitman is what I’d choose, there’s this belief that “stealth games are serious” no they’re fun, interesting and have its own unique formula.

Killing high level targets, being in situations battling guards, soldiers and it's as simple as that and to be honest the Hitman games (2016-2021) could be 1 game all together.

You are all good. Trilogy is just a repack with preorder bonus or whatever, Seven Deadly Sins DLC is meaningless.

This outlook is extremely pathetic and childish...

But I am pathetic and childish so I'm with you. Fuck these motherfuckers. Should have been day one Steam.

I thought this thread was a year old and got bumped for a minute.
Is anything different than what's available right now?
Edit: Answered above.

Most of that content really doesn't impress me - I mean how many times can you return to these same locations - but I'm glad the game is coming to Steam finally, because I do want to play through the three games at some point.

Also, they didn't explain the Trilogy thing very well. If you have Hitman 1 and 2 on Steam, do you just buy 3 and not the trilogy? Is 3 cheaper than buying the trilogy? Does 3 alone have all the same content as in the trilogy? Or do you buy the trilogy but it's cheaper because you already own 1 and 2?

if all 3 games are included on disk, complete without any need for downloads, then i'll get it. I have avoided previous versions because of that.

Imagine having no morals. I feel sorry for you guys.

It’s got fuck all to do with ‘morals’. Hitman hasn’t been a big seller in recent times and was probably a risky proposition for the devs. Can’t fault them in any way for accepting guaranteed cash from Epic.

Hard not to roll my eyes when you folks put on the bravado acts and go “I’m going to pirate it or buy it used or get it from seedy markets because they hurt my feelings”.

Alexios

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!

It's literally the third in a row with the same framework and style and everything, you think they made it (and Epic went for it) because they two didn't do well but they're suicidal and thought they'd give it one more try with no changes to the formula (to the point previous games can be imported)?

Square's dumb expectations, whatever they were, not withstanding any more since they went indie fully aware of the numbers they've been pulling naturally.

You obviously come from the future and found a gif of the iOi servers getting hit 🤪

It really is a great reboot series though, having played all of the originals, plus Blood Money and Absolution… I can honestly say Absolution was the best
at cutscene memes 🤣

Are you playing the Xbox version? I own the PS5, PC and Xbox version of the game (I know) and the only one I've ever had issues with disconnects is Xbox and it's really annoying.

Yeah same, I have it on both, but yeah I’m currently playing on SX, I haven’t bothered downloading it again on PS5, but I remember the same thing being a problem on both consoles since release (and even Hitman 1 and 2), so it’s odd not seeing it improved that much even on off hours before the Gamepass release.

It’s not horrific or anything, it just kinda interrupts things every hour or two (all I have to do is hit ’retry’ and it takes like half a second) but at release the disconnects were so often it was almost a chore at some points, so I’m kinda wondering how bad it’ll get hit once the Gamepass users flood in.

Do not buy on PS5. IOI still didn't fix the bug where the music cuts out constantly.

"We're not sure why you think we're refusing to fix it, when we've got it on the known issues list" - oh I don't know, maybe because it's been on that list for one. Whole. Fucking. Year.

Fuck yourselves.

I feel bad that I don't have time to play this games. There's just too many games.

I loved Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and Contracts on PS2. I think I also played Bloodmoney on X360.
