I was going to order one, then I remembered I dont even use my switch.

Steam Deck is gonna hurt like bitch if you drop while playing in bed. Which is the only time I would use it.

I don't doubt the hardware, sounds amazing, and I can deal with the size, but why would I play games on this thing when I can use my mouse and keyboard? at least on the Switch the handheld mode plays similar to the console mode, but the mouse and keyboard are a lot better than to play on than this thing, so why would I do it.

And Valve must lose a massive amount per unit here, these things must be very expensive to build.

It has haptic touchpads, that is pretty similar to having a mouse. You can kick your feet up on the couch and play with this thing.

I'm still not entirelly sure about the controller part though. Not putting much faith on this d-pad, which looks like it's not gonna be much of greater deal in comparison with the likes of DS4 controller d-pad(which I frankly love it). The rest seems pretty solid.

Looking forward to get mine in Q2.
Although I am looking forward for the actual steam gaming - I'm also interested in all the homebrew/emulation that will happen on it, or how it would evolve this machine down the road.

The screen looks very bad, only 68% SRGB coverage... Im very disappointed about that... Im not expecting oled quality but dude, that so bad, it's worst than a lot of ugly TN monitor...

I can't watch the video due to being at work, what does he say about it?.

I'm kinda surprised people were so hyped about it with it only being a 720 screen.

I want to get one of these, mostly to replay old games. It's impressive linux has gotten to this point with proton.

I’ve learned the hard way to avoid big things over my head in bed. I can fall asleep no matter what I do, and I’ve had the big iPad Pro smack me in my face, it’s a miracle it didn’t crack my nose lol
I’ll play the Deck seated.

I'm interested on what this thing will do for Linux gaming.

If it becomes popular enough... damn, even devs getting proton/wine compatibility out of the box would be a huge win. And KDE is a great desktop that's been overshadowed by Gnome, I hope this gives them momentum.
