Ya it's probably more to do with how these contracts work. The state of fighting game competition is currently with covid, teams aren't getting much coverage. This minor thing probably was enough to be able to terminate the contract so they can cut costs.

In a perfect world, sure. I think sanity has gone out the window, though, and the best we can hope for is parity.
I think that thread was surprisingly sane for the most part and many people there called out hypocrisy in their own community. Only those neckbeard white knights were hilarious and they got their deserved bans.
