Karma, in the sense of the universe "righting a wrong", doesn't exist.
More likely that player, on some level, felt a sense of shame and got inside his own head and fucked up the attempt.

Wow, this is the only video clip of "soccer" I've sat through that wasn't boring. Probably the greatest soccer play ever, yes.

It doesn't crack the top 10 sporting moments, though. No, not even close. It does have golf beat, though.

Good to see some sports from over the pond, although the greatest moments are usually very personal as well. For example Blackpool going up to the premier league in the Wembley play off final for example was on of the most exciting, nail biting 90 minutes of football I've ever seen. But if you don't follow them then you won't understand what it meant to the fans. Charlie Adams' goal! Happy days.

That was one thing I only heard about but never saw clips till the internet age. Same with the 1972 Summit Series, Canada vs Soviets 8 game series. Soviets won Game 4 in Vancouver to make it Soviets up 2-1-1. They won the next game to make it 3-1-1, but Canada won the last three to win the series 4-3-1. Bought the DVD pack and the games are crazy how they played in the 70s compared to now.

Espo after losing Game 4 and Vancouver fans (as usual) booed the home team. Not the first time acting bad. They also rioted during the 1994 and 2011 cup finals when they lost. When they lose, that west coast fan base goes ape shit. The players were so pissed, Espo did a speech after the game.

For those of us who still like baseball, there's a similar one. Legendary. Bill Buckner of the Boston Red Sox against the New York Mets in the 1986 World Series lets the ball go between his legs in what should be a routine catch-and-throw to first base for an easy out. Instead, the error lets the Mets score and eventually go to Game 7 for the win of the overall series:

Just watched it now and... Holy shit, what an awesome, heartfelt speech. Nicely said.

The stereotype of Canadians is that they're really nice, polite people (especially compared to us "rude" Americans). Didn't know they were dicks when it came to hockey though

Edit. One thing that no one remember is that Barrichello, in his rookie year with a Jordan, started the race at 12th and ended that lap in 4th.

After that I would say Senna last lap in Interlagos 91 under heavy rain with only the 6th gear in a car with drive stick. Just pumping the clutch at the last laps.

Pete Carroll has to live with this his whole life. I know he made some bad calls back when he was the Head Coach at USC, but this is one of those "Hall of Fame" bad calls

I was telling my buddy even before the play happened... Dude, the Seahawks are at the 1-yard line, on the verge of clinching their second Super Bowl in a row. They had arguably THE absolute best running back in the entire NFL that year in Marshawn Lynch. And they went... for a passing play. The second I saw the passing formation my buddy and I had a Star Wars-style "I've got a bad feeling about this" exchange. And alas... The bad feeling materialized

Great job by the Patriots defense of course. But massive epic fail on the play-calling from the Seahawks.
