As you know there were some rumors of BGE2 being canned, but we have something that proves it isn't the case:

Ubisoft Barcelona, one of the teams behind BGE2 and others like Rainbow Siege or several Assassin's Creed games, like any other studio regularly from time to time posts job offers and sometimes they mention the related project. In this case, as they did for years they recently posted a BGE2 related job offer, which obviously means they continue working on it. There are two Ubisoft Barcelona studios:

One is the mentioned here that develop AAA games, located just in front of the beach (if you ever visited the city for the Primavera Sound music festival, it's in the white tower next to the entrance):

The other one develops mobile games, it was located next to the cathedral but moved to be next to other iconic building of the city (the multi colored dildo shaped one):

P.S.: I did work there for years, even if I left years ago I frequently meet friends from there from time to time. A fantastic city to live in and both are great teams. So if you're a dev I suggest you to check out their open job offers.

We ain't outta here in ten minutes, we won't need no rocket to fly through space
This would not be the first time people were hired to work on a dead game.

Where was she even keeping that CD case? Flat against her stomach? Must've felt really weird. I do like the way her boob flops/slumps on the pig-man's muscley arm though, nice.

After seeing starfield, which is going for a similar open planet approach with hand crafted locations buit into them. I wonder if the bge2 team will feel more confident, knowing they arent gonna have to go first, and they can learn what to avoid with any procedural generation issues starfield may have

We are so far removed from the original game in literally every aspect. Why even call it Beyond Good and Evil 2?! That game was significantly more niche than I think some people realize and that came out twenty years ago.

This project absolutely baffles me.

According to Ubisoft, Beyond Good and Evil 2 is currently included in a list of announced projects that are in active development. Previously, Ubisoft has confirmed that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is in the works, but to hear that it is in active development implies that the game has not been shelved, which has some fans believing that Ubisoft is gearing up for an announcement on the title.

'Member Joseph Gordon-Levitt walking on stage for crowd sourcing the art and music? With a budget of $50,000 split for all artists that might have their art used? LOL

I don't believe Ubisoft can release this game.

Ah yes BG&E fans. All 3 of us lol.
My point was that I and others just wanted a plain old good sequel, not a new engine test masked as a game that's been teased to us for almost a decade. I've had the same feelings when Epic Games kept teasing and hinting at a new Unreal Tournament whenever they wanted to test out a new and exciting engine feature. It's almost a high level form of mockery for those who have waited and asked for so long.

Just kill it, this is going to end up like DNF. I remember that revival trailer looking pretty cool 5 years ago but now...what they are going to change engines to update the game? Just let it die.

Why bother? With Ancel gone the ambition is most certainly gone as well. Now Ancel was a hypeman like Molyneaux and Howard, but sometimes that paid off. Without someone like that the game will most certainly be at the total mercy of suits, aka a funnel for MTX and NFTs and lootboxes, and not have the same grand ambition only a visionary could push.

Whatever comes out at the end of the tunnel, it's not gonna bear any resemblence to the awesome concept lies we've been fed over the years, so again, why bother?
