We get a shitty last of us remake instead. Which still hasnt even been revealed. What the fuck are sony waiting for exactly? I hope xbox knocks it out of the park with their show and turns up the heat on sony and their silence.

2023 is going to be an amazing year right? ... right?

just like 2022 supposed to be lmao
Yeah, bit burned out on all the release dates, promises, teases, and then nothing. What sucks the most is how for a long time now my friends and I have been really bored. There's just no great stuff dropping, and it feels like its been a desert for years (sprinkled with the occasional oasis).

But that doesn't stop the constant media hype train, PR, fanboys etc.

This gen has sucked pretty hard so far.

This has got to be one of the wildest avatar bets I've been a part of...

This isn't official folks. It gets added to the pile of speculation.....

Piss take by Sony. Delayed from 2021 all the way to 2023. Not long ago, devs said its coming this year. Now it's delayed? Messaging is all over the place. Make your fucking minds up!
It’ll be a better game when it’s released. As much as I loved GOW 2018 I wouldn’t want a sequel to be too safe, which is what trailers has shown it to be so far. I hope they use the extra time to take some ideas from Elden Ring, more exploration content, more enemy types, more dungeons, more bosses, a more open world so you can take different paths (but not too open I like the metroidvania style of unlocking new areas with new gear), less pointers and hints, let us explore, it’s okay to have gamers feeling lost in an adventure.

It's pretty obvious from lack of software from their entire 2022 so far that they were betting on redfall and starfield. Literally you can go and look up the tweets of Phil with Bethesda people a month or so ago, which was probably to see the game, and saw what state it was in, then following that they made the announcement of pushing it.

Sounds like I rustled some feathers because literally Microsoft has put out nothing for 2022, and probably will end the year with Gears collection, Forza and updates to halo. I'm hoping that Avowed might be ready, but thats wishful thinking on my part.
Nobody's feathers are ruffled (it's ruffled). You avatar bet it was 2022 and then said "i was expecting a delay" soon afterwards. That's okay and it's okay to joke about it.

You don't have to exaggerate and turn this into a console war (you brought up Starfield and MS as some gotcha, just like you're now bringing up MS's 2022 and Gears collection as if remasters of classics are bad Mr. Last of Us Remastered in September is good enough! All this has literally nothing to do with this conversation). Fact is, people who celebrated a Starfield delay as a gotcha against MS are now faced with a possible delay to GoW2. If somebody made their bed, they can deal with a little friendly joking over it.

It's not a big deal. If the delays makes this a better game, it's the right thing to do. Just like with Starfield and just like with the rest of the MS studios and Sony studios and Nintendo studios and Stadia studios... okay maybe not those studios lmao.

I voted yes in that thread but only because i was sure it was never going to get delayed and wanted to have some fun. I still dont believe it.

There is no way in hell a straight sequel with last gen graphics and gameplay would take 5 years to make. Especially when the original took 4 years from scratch to make a fully next gen game with a completely different combat system and mythology.

The only explanation is what i had speculated last year. That Cory took all the best designers for his new IP and the B team was working on it, and they mucked it up. Even then, the B team at SSM put out GOW Ascension in 3 years while all the leads were with Stig on his IP that would eventually get cancelled. So it's not like this B team is unproductive. This game must have been in development hell at one point. This sequel shouldve taken 3 years max. Add 1 year for covid and Kratos getting injured, but 2 extra years? Im not buying it. This is probably a red herring.
Remember pc version is probably also in development in same time 😌

And its not like TLoU1 hasn't been remade and isn't perfectly playable on PS5... Also frankly I am dreading the idea of Neil's OC "you see, now part 2 makes sense!" scenes that I feel he cannot resist shoving in. Making this a demake, if it happens.

So, is 2024 the next big year in gaming? Since, you know, 2023 will somehow be a wash with several delays, I'm sure.

100% agree it's not worth getting angry over this as there's literally nothing we can do about it.

This was pretty obvious if you ask me. Sony does really well in the first quarter, they tend to put their big releases out between january and may recently. They havent had a “big fall game” in a few years. They are more than content to get the heavy hitters out early in the year and let third parties carry them through the rest of it. It works for them. I knew there was no way in hell this was releasing this year. Especially in the fall when it would be such a massive q1 hit for them next year

Why bother with a big fall release when you have Call of Duty to carry you (for now)?

Ask me about my Stream Deck
So the other week people were taking victory laps over some early ratings "leak" or something for GoWR. Now others are celebrating this "leak". I feel like both groups are equally dumb.

Are either of these sources more reliable than the other? I'm hoping to hear something about GoWR tomorrow personally.

Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart
Demons Souls Remake
Returnal
Spiderman Miles Morales
Horizon Forbidden West
Gran Turismo 7
Faster Load Times
Better Resoltuion
Higher Framerate
Forza Horizon 5
Halo Infinite
Game Pass and all the games it includes.

How hard is it to grasp this concept?
Someone really should release a game called Faster Load Times. Great name for a shooter.

Essentially yes, for all intents and purposes, call of duty is their “big fall game” so are the other big third party titles releasing this holiday that will sell best on playstation. Thats the way its been for at least the past 3 years

I'm fine with all the avatar fun, I welcome it. It's all the people acting like this is the same case as Redfall/Starfield and its clearly not. But you got people in here literally salivating that this game will be delayed.

When in actuality, the fact Sony has another game ready for fall shows you the difference in software management.

If we're being fair, we should probably have 6 weeks of threads about how Sony project management is incompetent, just like that Starfield delay lol. And this game has ALREADY been delayed if I remember correctly. I've lost count.
I mean 🤔 if we're being fair-fair, didn't the marketing for Starfield start with all of their short videos and clips of the game and Todd telling us that the release date was written in ink or something. Sony on the other hand, hasn't given us an actual release date (apart from that initial 2021 teaser lol). It's been the SSM employees thatve been cock teasing us that it's coming out this year

That being said, 2022 is really shitting the bed with Starfield and GoWR being delay. This sucks big time. Buuuut.. I'd rather take delayed, polished games over almost good, on-time games

Dont tell me I didnt warn you guys about this scenario every time people asked why Sony fans hate PC ports. I am too tired to pull up old posts but I remember just last week pointing out the massive delays of Horizon and other Sony games that were potentially caused by having to support PC ports, but people are so focused on calling each other trolls and fanboys that they fail to see the bigger picture. I literally have a 3080 that can run games 2x as well as my PS5 so Im happy for day one releases or even day 365 releases, but at the end of the day, Sony chose to invest in Nixxes for PC ports instead of having them help these struggling studios to get games out on time. It's about priorities and while this might not affect me as a PC owner, I can understand why Airbus Jr Airbus Jr and others who bought Sony consoles thinking Sony prioritizes consoles might feel a bit letdown by the constant delays and Sony's lack of efforts to combat them.

GT7, Horizon and GOW were all announced as 2021 while we were in the middle of the pandemic. They had already taken that into account, and they still missed the dates. Sony shouldve anticpated this and either increased studio size or gotten outside help to ensure these games release on time. They are raking record profits and porting games left and right so delays due to lack of resources is no longer an excuse.

Right.

So maybe... hear me out on this one... maybe MS has a game ready for fall. What if... hear me out on this one too... there's a showcase, let's say in less than a week, that shows us a game ready for fall.

See? See how every conversation doesn't need to be a console war and you can show your ass less?

We are in June and have seen virtually NOTHING about this game. Granted it’s a sequel but it getting delayed to spring (seems to be a Sony favorite lately) 2023 is anything but shocking

Represent.

Represent(ative) of bad opinions
Meanwhile we have Naughty Dog's ass whos been quiet since 2020 with no update, nothing but rumors for 2 years and they don't comment on shit.

The Silent Hill fiasco for 3 years, no comment or denial of anything from anyone.

The "Abandoned" bullshit they let go on for a year and said nothing about.

Sony just lets these rumors swirl and spiral out of control. They are too quiet for their own good. Gamers need to be harder on them. TERRIBLE marketing team this gen.

My european sources tell me Bleeding Edge 2 will release this fall to thunderous critical acclaim.
