yeah i mean, how am i supposed to believe that there are 1000 good open worlds in the game to explore?
weird but we'll see.
There won't be. He makes it sound like it's ten thousand times the content of Skyrim, but it's going to be empty worlds with a dozen NPCs, and only one or two will have something meaningful to say.

I won’t lie, Diablo IV, Starfield, Benedict and seeing Kojima made this show great. I really didn’t care much for anything else …

Oh and Scorn looks interesting but we’ve seen it already.

A few interesting/good games. Nice to see a few Persona games releasing on consoles.
Some of their videos were recorded using a potato. Few too many DLC stuff but it's stuff that people could get excited for. Showing games and not lots of talking is good.
Overall, not too bad.

Okay. I am now aboard the hype train for Starfield. Looks great.

Rest of the show was pretty much what I expected, not much, but that is what shows are these days. Filler with some good bits thrown in.

Can't believe some people expected Starfield to looks as good as other AAA games. You would need the amount of people entire Rockstar has and up to 8 years of development to pull that off.

This game is going to be a huge RPG but don't expect a looker.

3/10

Diablo IV looks great.

Nothing much else is to note. Starfield looks promising, but the shooting portion in the beginning looked REALLY rough. Also, some weird cuts in that gameplay section. The game doesn't look next gen at all. Scanning and collecting elements just feels like No Man's Sky all over again. Finally, 1000 planets. Oh, yay, a bunch of procedurally generated stuff. Give me expertly created content over that any day. I want to be excited for Starfield, but... I just can't get there.

This showcase was pretty much a show to fill Gamepass with mostly indies. I'm not saying indies are bad, but wth. Where is Hellblade, State of Decay 3, that game is great.

4 of 10 show imo.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
Show gets a 6/10 and that’s only because Starfield tore it up. I would have given it 7/10 if they hadn’t given life to Fallout 76.

If not for Starfield I’d give it a 3/10. No incentive to keep Gamepass.

I'm pretty surprised there was no Hellblade II, no Avowed either. Big surprise for me was RedFall as that looked and sounds a lot better than the initial reveal showed. A few of the indie games look pretty good tbh like that cyber ninja one and the Kameo-like Dark Souls-ish one. Diablo 4 looks good. As Dusk Falls is a complete disappointment, it really is just a bunch of storyboards. Forza looks good but doesn't seem like a big leap for a next-gen only racer and I still think GT7 looks better in areas like the lighting.

Starfield seems very ambitious gameplay-wise, but damn they need to tune up the technical performance. No reason it can't be running at 60 FPS on Series X when HFW can run at 60 FPS on PS5 and they're both open-world action-adventure games with RPG elements (or an outright RPG in Starfield's case). So there were definitely some good things I like but a lot of other things I didn't care for.

I'm still surprised about some of the things not shown tho like Hellblade II, Avowed, or Fable in particular. Curious how far out they truly are especially Hellblade II since that's one of the first of the new XGS games we saw way back in 2019.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
The amount of game pass content was staggering.

And Starfield delivered on the hype, IMO.

Is Diablo 4 gamepass day 1?

Not as of yet, if the deal closes before its release, then I'm guessing yes.

Starfield was the only thing that really held my attention during this whole thing. And I’d still like to know if there’s seamless ground-to-space traversal or not. Todd said we could land anywhere we wanted, but is it seamless and in real-time, or are there some loading scenes inbetween?

I mean, I guess it is great to "see' him because that is all it was.

Oh and I’m glad Phil’s trips to Japan paid off. Honestly was not expecting Persona 3-5 coming to Gamepass. Wouldn’t mind playing those again.

Resource gathering will probably make or break Starfield for me. It's why I couldn't get into NMS. Hope you don't spend too much time doing it in this.

Also, hopefully all those planets are actually full of unique and interesting things to find and it isn't just "This planet has a bad guy you need to kill, but nothing else is on the planet but some trees and a few huts"

For my tastes, I was most interested in Cocoon, Ravenlok, Flintlock, The Last Case of Benedict Fox.

Starfield seems to be the game that it took No Mans Sky 10 years to become, but with a much more appealing aestethic.

...controls, crafting, story, design. I went back to No Man Sky. Even knowing everything that they added just doesn't change the fact that I dont enjoy playing the game.

Hopefully your base can make it easier to mine and you can create/deploy robots to do it for you.

Redfall, Starfield, Forza and Diablo IV looked amazing but just concentrating on the next 12 months is disappointing, so many games not at the show because they are later.
I suppose they are reacting to fan feedback with people saying everything is years away and not gameplay but it went too far the other way for me.
7/10.

4/10 for me

Forza horizon DLC looks good. Flights sim stuff looks cool if your into that game. Starfield looks great. The rest was basically filler. They really didn't need a conference if that's all they were gonna show. Disappointed to say the least.

I'm kinda glad they are showing most games released in the next 12 months though. Hopefully that means next year's will be much much better.

Yeah and that's part of the problem - quantity over quality. Where are the big-hitters?

How many games can you play in a month anyway, and do you want to play something 'because it's there'.

So basically they could have done a deep dive into Starfield and that's it.
Every year they force themselves into these old style conferences promising the moon and putting the eggs in a single basket and then it's wait for next year.
They need to work on their approach for the future imo.

So no Fable, Avowed, Perfect Dark, or Everwild.

I guess that confirms that they're are all a long way off.
That's because they were responding to criticism that they previously showed games that were too far out, so they made the decision to only show things slated to be released within the next 12 months. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of those in the later half of 2023.

This is what I’m curious about too. Loading screens for landing/taking off should be a thing of the past by now. Some games have caught up to this, and so I’m hoping you can take full control of your ship in Starfield.

The first half of this year is shit, this summer seems to be shit. Xbox fucking blew it.

"Surprise! We have nothing big to announce or even shadow drop for today! You waited months for something to happen, wait for another 12! Because fuck focusing on 2022!"

Well, that was a disappointment, I didn't feel hyped at all. No Banjo Kazooie at all makes me a sad panda :( Everything felt too similar and something I already did and done in past games with a different paint skin. I know Starfield will be buggy at launch. A lot of open areas, all generated systems that are devoid and empty like those shitty radiant quests in Skyrim. Open world games need to be more like Elden Ring.

There another conference tuesday

Saw a lot I liked. Gave it a 9/10 even though Starfield is not my jam.
Gotta keep in mind that they only showed stuff releasing in the next 12 months which is why we didn't get Hellblade, Indiana Jones, Perfect Dark, etc

Forza Motorsport, OW2, Redfall, Silksong, FH5 Hotwheels dlc, D4, the Persona games, the Team Ninja Game, Nakara, etc.....so many good titles coming and I know I'm missing a bunch
