As others have pointed out, this happens all the time. Blizzard wasn't allowed to mention the Xbox version of D3 until right before release, and good luck pre-ordering The Callisto Protocol digitally on Xbox right now.

Most of those announcements would have popped up on Google news feed on their phones, the other information...not so much.
Unless they go searching, that's the only real information they get.

No they didn't, it was announced multiplatform as soon as the SOP ended.
Not during the show obviously (Duh) but Capcom made it clear it was multiplatform. You couldn't miss it anyway because all the Xbox fans were talking about it everywhere.

Press release for Wo Long confirming it coming to other platforms that was planned for June 14th
Another press release also dated June 14th for Persona 3, 4, and 5 coming to PS5 and Steam
Official Atlus Persona series website still only says Xbox and Windows, so the embargo is still in place it seems

I have zero idea how much that would cost. But, I imagine there are good reasons and studies to back it up.
If, for the first 48 hours, the fans associates a game with a single platform, that mindset might be difficult to change afterwards. Obviously, the longer, the better, but first impressions.
I, STILL, associate Cuphead with Xbox. Despite playing and beating it on Xbox, then Switch and eventually PS4.

They are giving the product holder a stage to show their game on if they choose to. 48 hrs in the Xbox spotlight doesn't seem like a big deal. These games are also months away in most cases.

If it wasn't marked 'console launch exclusive', and doesn't come from a 1st party studio, it's pretty easy to figure out what's coming to Playstation day 1.

There's a really good reason why there is a 2 day embargo on announcements and Starfield is only on Xbox/PC and most, if not all, Bethesda future titles will be on Xbox only. If they were so unconcerned they would leave everything as is, but they aren't... because, the fly fart is still the big dawg in the gaming industry. Xbox is still 3rd in the gaming industry... they're the flys farts fart queef LOL

I have to address this. NOBODY is the good guy. The pendulum swings depending on the competition, sometimes business decisions benefit consumers, example: cross platform play or when Sony used to have free online play. We could go on and on here.
Make the best decisions for you without worrying about anything else.
At the end of the day we watched a 95 min showcase of commercials.
