This is what 343 are wasting their time on?
For fucks sake. I think they did a great job with Infinate campaign. I liked the game.
But this studio has to be working Microsoft, and if it isn't, it should be.
The amount of money they have churned through, the amount of employees they have, and the amount of contracting they also did for Halo, to then get this level of out put is just garbage.
343 is a poster child for what happens when you let a company follow a woke and diversity agenda ahead of talent and work ethic.

We set back 5 years ago., I fought this BS at my last Web Design Agency.. why make this more complicated when you can buy stuff with money .. by PayPal or what ever service . Nice user experience 🥹 they even made it so that users couldn’t in a easy way get back the remaining credits .. so they had profit ..

But touted they had transparency as pillar 🤣 some companies..

Not true. At all.

If you do all of your challenges in a week it would take 2 months to complete 1 season.

there are 8 seasons... so a bit more than a year then.

I really wonder if they will make a Season 9 battlepass now... Halo 2 Anniversary is in dire need for some new shit... they should start with porting maps from Halo 3 over with slight graphical improvements

Doesn’t seem bad to me at all.

Let’s not forget, 343i could simply implement a method of unlocking things quicker if they were that concerned about newcomers not being able to unlock stuff. They’ve created the problem, and oh look, here comes MTX to fix the problem.

yeah, they should at least get rid of the level cap, that would speed things up. also just increase xp gain

We’ve mentioned before that, following the release of Season 8: Mythic last year, we will be moving away from the model of Seasons. That nomenclature will be shifting to ‘Series,’ which you can expect to see roll out across the MCC in the next update.

I’m not really sure what they mean by that to be honest. Will there be a battle pass involved? It’s not really clear. They are saying they’ll continue to add content and QoL features though.

could be that they just add new cosmetics on thy fly from now on instead of having months long seasons

what MCC needs the most tho IMO would be new maps for Halo 2 Anniversary. that game has been neglected way too much

Makes total sense for people who don't want to grind for years to get everything. I don't get the outrage.
You don’t get the outrage that you need to grind for years to get everything? And you see no problem that you can avoid this by buying everything with purchasable in-game currency?

This is no different than what mobile gaming has been doing for like a decade. Make sure the player has to devote far too much of their time into the game through excessive grinding or fabricated waiting and let them pay to get things faster.

It’s like a cancer in the industry. And fans that are already addicted always defend it. Always. If FROM would turn their Souls games into extreme grind fests and have purchasable FROM coins to buy level-ups, then you’d have Souls fans parroting git gud memes all day long saying it’s no problem that if takes 3000 hours to do a normal play through. ”Just Git Gud.”

Not that I care since I have everything unlocked and still over 60 unused season points but disappointed since they said, there will never be MTX in MCC. Yeah it's only cosmetics but fuck them anyway.

It's really not easy being a Halo fan, is it?

God how I miss just refreshing the server list of the trial version of Halo 1. Was all I needed, good times till the servers went dead.

I’m done now.

I’ve put more hours in to Halo than any other series. Comfortably over 100 days and that’s a conservative guess. I know I had over 50 days between Halo 3 and Reach alone because Bungie.net used to track it.

I just can’t bring myself to care anymore.

The shocking pipeline for Infinite has confirmed the game’s death, and now 343i want to do this.

343i are some of the greediest, laziest, incompetent twats in this industry.

I know the usual apologist, who might casually play 3 or 4 Halo matches in a month, will defend this on here. I feel sorry for you, because you’re happily dancing on Halo’s grave and trying to discredit the people who actually care.

I don't bother customizing anything. As long as you can unlock everything in game I don't really care if they want to let people just buy stuff. It's all useless cosmetic stuff at the end of the day.

The real problem is Microsoft. They created 343 for this purpose, own them and have full control. You can call them lazy but they're really just an extension of Microsoft.

I mean, if we have a problem with a Mario game, we don't start pointing fingers at for example Nintendo EAD group 3, we direct it at "Nintendo", they are managing the whole affair.

I am no fan of 343 but I don't think its like Microsoft just told them "make a good Halo" and they simply made all the wrong choices -try making a good game under Microsoft's direction, a feat even Rare is hard pressed to do.

You think it was 343's idea to add mtx to MCC? Yeah I don't think so. The bean counter overlords passed down this decision.

It doesn't make it any better for Halo, it's MS abusing Halo as they have since making Halo 2 Vista exclusive on PC, it's like they can't leave it alone trying to use it to create some sort of leverage on something, to squeeze every dime out of its success. Pettiness, desperation and "synergy".

I call 343 incompetent because they launch a broken game and take forever to fix it, not for this decision from their boss. I also blame MS for the incompetence in the studio to begin with. Set it up and manage it better.

I'll dumb it down for you since you had issues understanding the very obvious meaning of my original statement:

microtransactions bad
What a definitive statement. Not all microtransactions are bad. Take Apex Legends for example, it's a free game, money has to come from somewhere, in this case microtransactions. Halo MCC is getting new content on top of the 4 games you already have, I don't think it's bad that you ask for money when you can get new cosmetics the developer put time into.

Is MCC a free game?

They pretty much let Bungie go because they believed in 343 Industries being able to handle it, it's not a coincidence that 3434 was funded just as Bungie became independent. With pretty much just 3 main Halo games in 15 years 343 was able to completely destroy the IP, it's actually pretty impressive.

The lesson to be learned here is that studios matter a lot more than IPs and it's the lesson MS doesn't seem to learn because they keep doing it.
