ELDEN RING |OT| One Ring To Rule Them All

I meant to look up how that tear worked..thanks for explaining. So you have a 3 minute window to quick travel and retrieve them. Correct?

With that said.

I worked my way around that shit area with that minor erdtree guarded by 2 strong af knights.

As for the tree stump he does instant scarlet lot deaths combined with holy damage when he hops.

I'm at the site of grace behind him. From there I can reach a scarlot rot swamp (i have the blouses and incantation as well as a dagger)

Is this the way to the Ulcerated tree spirit I need to kill for millicent? I hope so.

That way way I can ignore this pesky af part where I'm now.
Using the Twiggy is the same as equipping a Sacrificial Twig: if you die, your runes stay with you. I used to use it all the time, but for some reason I forgot about it and haven't used it in a long time. It's very useful.

That Ulcerated Tree Spirit is optional, and there's a quest line that needs you to go that way, but it's not for Millicent. Again, location in case you want it (I missed it myself)

After the area with the ballistas and Erdtree Avatar in "Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree" you find yourself in a huge space that is the hollow inside of Miquella's Haligtree. Near the end of it, there's another area that you cross over tree roots to get to. There you find your beast, then afterwards there's two summon signs.

Elden Ring has the 10 character limit, same as previous games. There's no good reason for them to stick with this limit, but here I am deleting characters to start new ones. One day I'll have to actually finish one. Newest characters:
  • Dragon Communionguy who uses the breath/bite/slam attacks and Warhawk's Talon for its unique R2 (likely 2 of them as I got a second JUST after finishing my farming one)
    • Stats mostly arcane, will infuse with arcane when I can
    • Not much set up, just killing Greyoll for 5 hearts then getting 2 Stonesword Keys for the dragon boosting Sacred Seal
    • Outside of the very late game incantation, the Dragon Cathedral in Caelid has early access to nearly everything you could need (outside of named variants of spells)
  • Dragon cultguy who uses lightning spells and a Guardian's Swordspear (easy, early farm in Weeping Peninsula)
    • Stats are faith and dex with a touch of strength to one hand weapons
    • Set up is riding to Liurnia and killing one enemy for the Dragon Cult Prayerbook, which gets Lightning Spear, Honed Bolt, and Electrify Armament which is a great start
    • The rest of the gear comes in Leyndell or later, but it's enough to carry me through 2 dungeons
    • Bolt of Gransax will become the main weapon after gold Godfrey

Truth be told, I miss my original dex/faith character that ended with using the Dragon King's Cragblade and its INSANE L2 on Elden Beast, which made short work of it. I'll keep what the weapon art is a surprise for anyone who hasn't seen it yet

My journey has come to an end, for now. Thanks everyone for the help, when I faced Margit I was doubting if I could ever finish this game.

Hope to see you all in NG+, or DLC!

You will likely regret going for the Bolt of Gransax as its ash of war has a longer vulnerable start up than most dragon cult incantations and does less damage. The Thundercloud Form ash of war is only second to bloodhound step in my book for this game. I am disappointed it is stuck to Dragon King's Cragblade as I would love to throw it on a spear/halberd or Rogier's Rapier.

I am also disappointed that Bloodhound's Finesse is not a heavy attack with Bloodhound's Step being the ash of war on Bloodhound's Fang. The battle with bloodhound knights implies as much.

P.S. If there is DLC, I would love to get Dark Souls 3's Farron Greatsword 2 handed moveset with Bloodhound Step.

Heh? DelireMan7 DelireMan7 says upon dying your runes move to a location with a 3 min window to collect them. You tell me they works as twigs ie runes on location of your death. Mixed info here

🤔

Fextra says you need to kill the ulcer for the choice summon signs to appear.

Frustrating this mixed info.

Doenst take away my gratitude of your guys help kay? ♡

The tear has an active window of 3 minutes. It's effect is that any runes in your possession stay with you when you die and any dropped runes do not disappear. The only exception as stated earlier is the death blight caused demise.

The whirling ulcerated tree spirit comes out of the scarlet rot pond above the Drainage Channel site of grace. It's defeat makes Milicent invasion/assistance signs show up if she has already left the Prayer Room site of grace.

I think Drainage Channel is the one you want to warp to. Turn around and go backwards, up the ladder and out into the tree hollow. Turn right and go up a hill, there's an enemy. Kill (or don't), and turn left. You should see a path leading across to an area you haven't been to, which should have the light of an item to pick up

Haven't found its site yet. But in the tree hollow you say. And that loooooong ladder with the insects around there

I need to load a save and run through that area, I can't remember what order everything happens in. But it's not a very long ladder, the area you're looking for is full of rot water and very far falls.

Did you get past the area with the ballistas and the Revenants?

Well that's to much to ask for

As for your question;

"
I worked my way around that shit area with that minor erdtree(the tree stump) guarded by 2 knights

I'm at the site of grace behind him with stumpy, knights and the balistas still alive. From there I can reach a scarlot rot swamp (i have the blouses and incantation as well as a dagger)

Is this the way to the Ulcerated tree spirit I need to kill for millicent? I hope so."

So no. I did clear that whole area with the soldiers and insects and got the Dragon Crest Greayshield Talisman.

Maybe go to Millicent's SoG and just work my way through but that tree stump does 1 hit me and those 2 knights are sturdy as well...

Perfect! Go back to this Grace then follow the path to the room with the rot. Look off in the distance, that's where you're going

I missed it when I first played too, I used a guide to find that area. I say missed, but I looked at it once and thought "I need to heal up" then never came back

Very recognizable..Same with a T split. Ok first left I'll come back for the other way *never does.

I beat Radahn a long time ago but feel like I missed this one. Where is it?

If they're talking about Radahn, I would guess is the catacomb in the Radahn boss fight desert.

Is right there in the end of the mountains. I find by luck because not even me beleive would be a dungeon there. Enter the Radahn area and go ahead until you face a mountain, by there keep looking to the right until you face the sea.

Found it. Stupid I missed it.

Now to learn to read his massive damage aoe move.

Also not quick enough with multitasking incantations and such. Have to count instead of looking while scrolling.

Amy service for rotting ulcer turd?

My go to tactic was to keep in the middle of his side, roll to escape his grasp here and there and roll and or block his tail.

Now it's the same but I'm standing in scarlet rot.

Personally I think I'm to eager.
Get some lion's claw in, do a critical hit and retreat and rebuff rince and repeat.

It's when I'm sorting through my incantations and shit he almost always grasps me. 98% Vigor gone and scarlot rot is the result and I die.

I dislike that enemy, it's usually too large for the area it's in and clips through walls so you don't always know what's happening. You can do your best to stay back, but with something that large I think the best you can do is try to learn his attacks so that you can dodge them (especially the grab) and react when possible.

Fortunately, that area has a nice bit of high ground where you will be safe from a few of his attacks until he decides to walk round and follow you. It's the area on the left when you first get there. It's not very fun to fight him there because there isn't much space, so I usually just try and use ranged attacks until he follows then run away until he leaves the safe part.

Solid advice. The other side has a cliff so. I was already doing my healing and buffering there above. Just a annoying pos construct. I didn't mind the small areas. Kept around his waist and kept my distance for his aoa attack and reading his snatch.
The added rot is just annoying af. And if you're to patient you give it room for his attacks. It's best to overwhelm him. But the rot... maybe I can get him in critical state and eat a bolus instead of stabbing him.

Oh well.

Almost.

Got to check this out. I am usually pretty thorough with my exploration (120 hours in and only at Altus Plateau) so I'm amazed it never crossed my mind they'd stick a dungeon in that area.

Of course they would.

Thanks for the tip.

The one in Haligtree ? I don't remember how hard hitting he is but my go to strategy for them is pretty brainless, especially with heavy weapons.

I stick to him and attack non stop. Most of them are missing usually. I just roll for the tail attack and the grab.
I don't even try to avoid the Aoe. I prioritize making damage over avoiding them.

Doing these specific runs, with their shortcomings, has forced me to learned some fights that I never needed to learn before. Draconic Tree Sentinel was something I never learned the attacks for in the past because I just summoned and brute forced my way through. That isn't possible with a lower level lightning build, so after the initial knock back of OHKOs I got into the nitty gritty of the AI. Used Jellyfish for additional DPS, but that was just to speed things up.

Also, Sword Dance on halberds is fantastic. It chewed through Rennala with damage and stagger when everything else was too slow or light.

This is what I love about Souls games. You can still get something new/fresh after hundreds of hours.

  1. Greatsword, great axe, curved greatsword and great hammer class weapons got buffs (speed, recovery)
  2. Light equip loads got buffed (farther rolls)
  3. Bloodhound's Step got nerfed, especially for heavy armour and repeated use
  4. Rivers of Blood got nerfed
  5. Cipher Pata got a hitbox buff
  6. Varre's quest got an offline option (thank you Miyazaki)
  7. Multiplayer got the option to drop a summon sign to a much wider range of areas
  8. Lots of bug and exploit fixes

Man, it's the navigation. I understand that's by design and game is channelling you to get to your next objective and sometimes it's just not possible (yet) to get somewhere but fuck my tits if I see something interesting on the horizon I want to get there, GOD DAMN IT.

speed is important thats why they bumped it for so many weapons with this patch.
DPS with my greataxe will be crazy now

executionergreataxe.png
I was already thinking about characters with standard greatsword and that exact axe, so this works perfectly for me

I was also thinking about a minimal equip character tha uses Cipher Pata and a 0 weight [I always want to say talisman but that's DS3 lingo], so the Pata and light equip weight buffs are perfect for that

They aren't serious with this Raghdan boss fight are they? There is hard and there is completely insane and this falls in the latter.

You mean Radahn? I didn’t find him that difficult. Then again, I summoned the NPCs in the area. If you’re fighting him alone, then he’s a lot harder.

But generally stay out of his way, try to attack him from the back on horseback.

Sorry for butting in outta nowhere, but was wondering if theyve updated the game's perf on ps5, or if the ps4 version on ps5 is the way to go. Gonna be grabbing it soon.

Yup. Farmed some crystal cave moss for scarlot rot bolusses and with some reading patience and non stop attacks I got him. Jfc.

I was lucky though not getting his aoa insta kill. Moved around the high ground a bit more.

Helping Millicent was a cake walk. No to google where she is.
