Looks really bad with the updated graphics going by a DF video, it’s literally just sharper textures which in the end makes it look even worse. Should’ve let it rest in peace until they bothered to do a proper remake. Give the IP to id and they would create magic.

The remaster was originally scrapped because of Nintendo. Releasing it without their approval would be a lawsuit magnet. This new release is most likely only happening with their approval.

However, as one of the developers puts it, "When it was put to Nintendo, everyone there approved it. Except they didn't check with the one guy who mattered." Apparently, there was one, unnamed Nintendo executive who shut down the project, saying something, "along the lines of, 'There is no way a Nintendo game is coming out on a Microsoft console.'" As mentioned above, Xbox purchased Rare and most of its titles. MOST, not all. Unfortunately for fans, Goldeneye 007 was one of the titles not carried over.

I agree that it doesn't hold up that well, but without online play it makes the whole thing pointless (even as a nostalgia play). The addition of dual analog and a good framerate might elevate the multi to a degree though.

Low ball effort thanks to Nintendo and their shitty practices. My guess is they wanted full parity with the Xbox version and so Xbox owners get a worse version than the leaked remaster. What a shit show. And the switch version won’t have matchmaking. It will be like all the other n64 games they advertise as having online play. Friends only.

Incredibly disappointing. I don’t know what to say, this industry is choking itself, we could’ve got an awesome returnal of a beloved game but all we get is some bs rushed high res emulation nonsense.
