Isnt that what bethesda makeI've never understood the appeal of exploring a tiny world filled with giant bugs. I would never buy this game in a million years.
I'll try it out sometime though since there's a story mode. Not expecting a ton, but I've never played it.
It's fucking fun of hell solo or Coop... Trust meI've never understood the appeal of exploring a tiny world filled with giant bugs. I would never buy this game in a million years.

Or you know .. they enjoy the gamelooking at those scores, probably the same people that reviewed halo infinite.

As noted in some of the reviews, Grounded is more polished and refined than the average survival game. It also has a unique setting and seems to have an interesting story which is missing in most of the survival games I've played.Wow, those are some padded reviews for a survival FPS, these things are a dime a dozen and the gameplay loop is never good.

No. I tried it for about an hour. I've never had a modern survival game click with me before. Feels like I'm missing something. But I'm always open to finding new genres, so I'll give this a try. From the looks of it, Grounded can be played in third person so that's a huge plus for me.Did you like Subnautica? In many ways it is very similar but with extra rpg elements.

I'm really excited for this. The early access version I played was great, it was was just missing content.

The early hours are still tough though, especially when played solo. Most encounters and even non-combative activities seem designed for multiple players. Taking on an orb weaver spider within the first hour is a death sentence for you, but more manageable with a few friends.
Oh trust me, I saw that about 10,000x. I still cry about the ant sometimes when day drinking. Its for us codgers that saw Honey I Shrunk The Kids as children.
Yes, this is better than Subnautica IMO.So you're saying playing this solo this is as good as Subnautica? I play this early access and it didn't seem better than anything, things must have changed dramatically.

We need Rick Moranis back and a good Honey I Shrunk something...Shit, I remember my mom asking why I was crying in the car and telling her because the ant died haha.
Subnautica is a great but rather lonely game. Grounded at least seems like it has more multiplayer stuff going on.Yes, this is better than Subnautica IMO.
From what I can tell, tons of content has been added along with a complete story. And I'm sure a lot of polish and bug fixes. What changes have happened since initial release years ago?
To be honest, 80% of it I played with a friend. We started it together, did a lot of quests, explored the backyard but mostly with a purpose. As with every survival game, the beginning can be a bit confusing and hard, but we avoided more dangerous areas, built a rudimentary base, upgraded our gear and weapons and that's when the game gets really interesting. Like Magic Carpet said, Subnautica is a lonely game and in that way kind of perfect for solo play. Grounded never makes you feel lost or isolated, but I think its biggest strength is that it motivates you to explore the world (our first trip to the base of the tree was both hilarious and scary at the same time) despite dreading what awaits you around the corner. So you're saying playing this solo this is as good as Subnautica? I play this early access and it didn't seem better than anything, things must have changed dramatically.
Gamespot review:
This sounds like bad game design. It's exactly the issues I had with it early on.

…or maybe don’t take on one of the most challenging enemies in the game when you’re just getting started?

Have been checking out latest builds for some time now, playing coop along with ultrazilla . Excellent game. Fun, challenging, detailed and expansive building mechanic, good play control, stellar music. This is a game that deserves to be on multiple consoles.

Meaning it's not just the enemies, it's the grindy tasks, this is bad game design.
Does anyone take Jez/Windows Central review scores seriously? I know they get rated on meta, but I've also heard dude speak in podcasts and on social media.

Shit I had forgotten about this logic fallacy, thank you for giving me a good laugh! That’s not a consistent critique across multiple reviews, so this is basically cherry-picking.
Does it have a story? How long do you reckon will it last you from start to finish? Or is it just an aimless game with no objectives and you just survive and thats it?
