I sadly think the same. I've preordered it anyway but it seems far too optimistic and grand in scale to meet expectations. There are very few studios I think that could pull a game of this magnitude off well (Rockstar, Naughty Dog etc.) and this is coming from a company who mostly specialises in mobile games? But hey, let's hope for the best, I'll be happy if the game is even half decent.
 
I need to hear how the PC version is. So many new PC games are released broken and some devs have been slow to fix issues.....hopefully this game is well optimized for PC users.
 
I think the game flops in terms of scores. Every preview that's come out since the release trailer has showed how barren and simple the game is. From the combat to the exploration. Then consider the developers previous games...

It's almost as if when they were a Disney studio they were MANDATED to put out low-quality games quickly.

. . .and what preview? The most extensive looks at the game we've seen from outside the school shows a pretty well laid out landscape that will be interesting to tool around in. There's nothing that screams "barren" about any of the world aesthetic. Like I'm not sure how you can look at this video and grouse that the game looks barren.
 
From what was shown, I think this might be geared more toward female gamers, the same who enjoy The Sims. It's basically playing dress up with your wizard avatar, decorating your room in Hogwarts, taking care of your creatures, etc.

I'm curious to see what they do with the story and quests.

This x1000. No way in hell would I be excited about this game.
 
I won't preload as everytime they show it, it look little bit worse, so I will wait for reviews.
 
I will laugh my ass off if the Hufflepuff house has the coolest questline. Like it will be The Dark Brotherhood or something.
 
It must be frustrating to be a game development team who did nothing wrong and have just kept your heads down and are working hard on a dream game that many Harry Potter fans (myself included) have wanted for over a decade. And the entire gaming community has decided that this is the next game they are going to try to cancel because of the author of the books who has nothing to do with the game.

Most of the people that will buy this game have no clue what JK Rowling said and don't care. You can't cancel an IP has big as Harry Potter at this point.

I am very curious to see how this game will review though because I am sure the contrevasray will be mentioned in every review.

In my humblest words I should like to give a proper response to the gaming community trying to cancel this game for no reason outside of politics;

Fuck 'em and Who Cares?
 
if ppl don't like the magic combat in Forspoken, how does Hogwarts even have a chance?? Because playing the demo of Forspoken and what i've seen of gameplay in Hogwarts. Theres just no way the gameplay is even as good as Forspoken, combat wise. So every non-combat thing better be the best thing uve ever played
 
It looks interesting to me but I've never read nor seen Harry Potter so it doesn't really resonate. Waiting for the reviews that say "you don't have to be a fan to enjoy it" before I pull the trigger.
 
I get the impression that game will be very Skyrim-like, but with magic and potions as your arsenal. It will be a different kind of gameplay.

A. The reason why Forspoken is getting crapped on is because the giant graphical downgrade, the cheesy, edgy main character and the empty open world.

B. If you read the books, Harry Potter has very little action scenes. At least for myself, the combat is one of the least important things that I would want in a HP game. I am more interested that they capture the immersion of attending the Hogwarts school campus both gameplay and writing/character wise. The Witcher 3 had average combat and is considered one of the best games of all time.

I'm excited for this one but won't preorder just because there have been too many disappointing AAA games recently.

I'll hold on for the reviews and go from there.
