Best looking visuals in a video game?

What video game do you think has the best looking visuals as of February 2023?

I'm going with Guilty Gear Strive(2021)

If we are going by time periods, when BF4 came out I was blown away by the graphics. I remember getting my launch PS4 mainly for BF4 and was blown away.

Recently, Demons Souls remake. When I played that on PS5 launch it was amazing, especially since my fondest PS3 memory was playing Demons Souls for the first time.

Reverse groomer.
Note neither game has RT or anything like that.
No but you see its the future of gaming and every game is gonna use it in 2023 and you NEED to have an RTX card as RT is the most important thing to video game graphics since sliced bread!!!!
What do you mean Horizon Forbidden West is a technical marvel that doesnt use any raytracing!?!?

The Matrix Awakens, no doubt.

But what's really impressive is how little different I feel now compared to this post from last year, made before owning current gen machines:

In terms of pure visuals, i still think it's The Order: 1886.

Most of Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy looks just as good, and sometimes they are literally pre-rendered quality, but are not as consistent for obvious reasons.

Spider-Man on PS4Pro, during sunset, is probably my favorite of them all.

Ghost of Tsushima is the most mesmerising thanks to its art direction.

RDR2 in version 1.00 (and that version only) is the most impressive game ever.

My vote goes to Cyberpunk 2077. Maxxed out with RT there is nothing like it.

Can you put quote tags around all that please?

Overall I think uncharted 4 exhibits the most diversity and care. Animation, effects, asset quality, etc...

I can think of several scenes in that game that completely hold up today. The thunderstorm on the beach. The Jeep through the city. Like the gameplay or not, it's remarkable what naughty dog did on 2013 hardware.

With the OP worded as “best looking visuals”, which seems to allude to the best visual presentation, not necessarily factoring in technical limitations:

I’ve got to say The Order 1886.

Ready At Dawn absolutely nailed the look of this game, despite its design shortcomings. In fact, I don’t think it would look anywhere near as good as it does without those shortcomings.

It’s probably the most visually cohesive video game I’ve ever encountered, precisely because they limited the scope in search of fidelity and cohesion.

Best visuals in a game i've played so far is Red Dead redemption 2 PC max settings

and the leaked internal trailer (bad quality)

I know that last choice..

Run Away Nuclear Bomb GIF by Identity

I don't even play it. But i really can't think of anything really exciting in the graphic tech currently honestly outside of this one. Last time was probably cryengine and that's been a long ass time.

Ratchet ,Hive Busters and Demons Souls all look stunning but we are almost 3 years in without a full next-gen original Naughty Dog game they would undoubtedly be #1 on my list with whatever they have cooking up.

do you know the reason for why they downgraded the shit out of the game (rdr2) in the subsequent versions?

makes no sense to me, game had better LOD, less pop-in, a little better lightning and even IQ..

Not including HFW my personal favorite visuals in videogames are

Cyberpunk 2077
TLOU2
Resident Evil Remake 2 & 3
RDR2
and FF7R Intergrade

These games (sans RDR2) imo look absolutely stunning on PS5 @ 60fps

Also I really dig Hi-Fi Rush's cell shading artstyle and character designs
