I'm almost done with the
Zoras
temple/dungeon.
In fact, you should consider the pre-dungeon as a dungeon in itself, i.e. climb to the top. It was the same with the
wind
temple.

But like Botw, I have to take a break, otherwise it affects my appreciation of the title. At a certain point, you just want to get on with the main story, and you completely neglect the rest.

I have finally upgraded and have a complete second battery. I haven’t spent much time in the depths, or completed any of the main quest line. The last quest I completed on the main line was going into the depths for the first time.

I think after 50 hours, I will start the first of the four area that Purah told me to go to.

I have 10 hearts, two full stamina wheels, 56 armor (after upgrades).
How the hell do you have 56 Armor?

I had no idea how i progressed, the first two locks were fine, but i barely used the mine cars after that 😳 just couldn't find my way around and had to find spots to jump and climb again, otherwise i was going in circles
Yeah it just wasn’t fun. Wind and lighting temples were really fun. This one is not. Going to the last temple now.

Whew that's a lot of armor. I spent most of my game so far at 12 or so. 😆

I would guess level 3/4+ upgrades to some set.

So side question regarding the guy in Kakariko that deciphers the tablets in the sky. I have found all of them but one, but for the life of me can't find the last one. The only one still marked as undone on the map that I can find is above lookout landing, but that's not really one is it because there isn't an island in the sky and that tablet is what starts the quest when it falls to lookout landing - so where in the world is the last one?

They are already hard enough to see on the map, so tiny.

I thought maybe it was within the great storm area but ended up finding something completely different there and even if it was there, so hard to navigate I'd never find it I think.

There are some tough shrines where they strip you down to nothing, no items, weapons or anything. A few of them were very difficult.

I just did the one in the zonaite forge sky tower where you have to beat all the enemies in low gravity. I didn't realize you need the fire fruits to denotate the kegs until I already used one up, so I had a lot left to beat. I didn't want to start over and managed to kill them all without exploding another keg, it was an awesome challenge of mechanics and resource management that improved my skills in the game.

Finished the game. Story was kind of trash, but the sandbox was pretty good.
Think it is maybe my 6th favourite Zelda.

I have a question for playing the game in general. Im doing a lot of exploring and mainly letting the story guide my general path...... does the main story take you back to the sky eventually like it does with the Depths? Or do I just need to get up there and just randomly explore the sky islands. I would kind of prefer the story take me to the sky islands and then I can explore as I go...

I have been exploring more than pursuing the main story, and I've been drawn into the sky for story reasons at least three times now from what I can recall.

Kind of, but not really. The thing with the sky is it isn't really connected so even if you go up into the sky somewhere I think you'd have to go out of your way to go explore more of it.
It's not like the depths where you can just keep going to more light thingies.

Thanks guys....appreciate the responses. Looks like I can wait a bit to get back to the sky. I know there is one side quest that takes you there. I tried exploring once but I landed on an island that had nothing on it so I just went back down...

Agreed. The adventure is fine but gets bitter if I'm not looking into the main title. Probably doesn't help having replayed BotW only a month prior to the release.

I thought about playing BotW before this but I just knew I would get fatigued with the TotK. Each game is just too large in scope to be able to play them back to back. But hey, thats just me, Im sure theres heaps of people who can just live in the world for years....

It's wild how much content there is in this game. It's like a MMO in that respect, only I want to do the content not out of any chance at a reward, but rather because it sounds fun and interesting.

I am having so much damn fun with the game that I am considering actively trying NOT to play it on weekdays because I don’t want it to end. We’ll see how long I can hold out but I usually don’t play games during the workweek anyway and nothing else seems interesting by comparison. If I were stuck only playing it on TV it would be easy since I don’t like to be a dick and occupy the TV on weeknights when my kiddo needs to study or I have the occasional late work meeting but I had to go and get an OLED Switch and enjoy the hell out of it.

Progress! Max Stamina here I come. I'll start the main quest at some point.
Lol I was doing the same but I'm gonna do the temples out whatever they are called, I've seen you get done powers ala champions in BOTW and they're great for exploring

I kinda did the opposite, rushed through a bunch of side stuff and opened up the entire world map/towers (but neglected the underworld)

Now I'm gonna rush the main story because I'm finding it a lot better than the main world stuff which is a major time sink...just got burned out after shrine after shrine and slow walking around areas

There's a lot of stuff you can build for faster travel that are really fun. Also the game offers a lot of opportunity to see what. At some place the game offered to create a 6-wheeler that apparently can really climb steep steps.

I would also look online for some easy to make fast travel stuff. Really fun.

Ah you can upgrade them? That would be useful for Tulin to help glide me further, they can be useful in fights to tank I'll give you that, especially against the Phantom Ganons
You need 4 sage will to upgrade 1 champion. They are usually quite hidden in the map. You can upgrade them at the goddess statue
Is totk the same as botw where you need a certain amount of hearts to get the master sword?
no, this time they stamina check you. You need 2 full circles of stamina

I already have the dark tunic, i'm talking about the mission you get from the statue in the plateu to free the one in the depths, bring 4 pieces of stone from 4 angle of the map inside a specific place in the depth.
All eye stones are placed near mine carts/zonai devices lying around. If you already have the blueprint for plane and save the blueprint for off road car (the one with big slate of rock with off road tires, there are one ready to built otw to goron city, so you can favorite it after you built it).

I’ve literally had to set a timer to remind me to go to sleep because it started to ruin my work days when I went to bed 1:30 on the morning and I go up at 4:45.

And I bought 2 new Switch consoles to deal with the family wanting to play it too.

The game is currently wrestling with Elden Ring over the 3rd place on my all time best game list.

May 23rd 2023:
1. Super Metroid
2. Elden Ring
3. The Legenf of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

I don’t play anything else. I have all consoles and haven’t powered up any other console after starting with TOTK. Haven’t even woke the PC up from sleep mode, a $2k 4090 inside and it’s just sitting there. And at work all my coworkers are playing it too or talk about buying a Switch to play it or talk about how to set it up on emulators. It’s kinda wild tbh.

So I havent found the Master Sword, could someone respond to me in spoilers if its through the main quest or a side quest?
so there are two ways to get master sword. One is Great Deku Tree in Lost Woods (I didn't go there. I only read about it), and the other is finishing the Dragon's Tears main quest (I did this one).
In Great Deku Tree, you have to defeat Gloom Hands. for Dragon's Tear quest, you need to find all the memories on the geoglyph. You need 2 full stamina circle to obtain the master sword

I had no idea how i progressed, the first two locks were fine, but i barely used the mine cars after that 😳 just couldn't find my way around and had to find spots to jump and climb again, otherwise i was going in circles
this. did exactly the same thing...

as much as i love zelda, i've always really hated fire dungeons (they're always so ugly), & so that's the one i went to first to get out of the way. after finishing, i watched a 'how to' video, & i don't know if it's just me being impatient, but not all that interested, but, yeah, to the extent they provide you with all the tools you need to break the damn dungeon? it was just as easy to go ahead & do so...

I need to give Elden Ring another shot after I beat this it seemed just like more of the same / Dark Souls to me but then again I was worried that this would be more of the same too after Breath of the Wild and boy was I wrong.

I remember doing this shrine... no clipping, no glitching on the bridge. Truly amazing how they pulled this off and it looks natural.

Funny

For this shrine I used Ultrahand to move the wheels forward, then backwards, then forwards again, then used Rewind and jumped on top of it.

I remember completely breaking one shrine, just stitching together 5 blocks and making a huge ladder to jump at the top of it and flying away to the end

As someone who hated BOTW, this game is the real deal. I'm even completing shrines, something that I found so boring in BOTW.

I'm at the Fire Temple right now. Every temple has been great. Not like old dungeons, but a HUGE upgrade over BOTW, not even in the same ballpark.

They nailed the pacing in this game after failing really hard at this aspect with BOTW.

Is it even worth to get the master sword if it's another weapon that need a cooldown like in botw?
Getting all tears is time consuming. Method 2 which is Deku tree is really easy. 6 flower bombs for the hands which is the real boss as phantom ganon is easy.
