Lol, stop the buffoonery. It's marketing bullshit to make customers think they're getting special treatment.
But they are.... unless you are really about to say that everyone either owns a PS5+PC, PS5+XBox or PC + Xbox.

Please don't tell me that's what you are about to say....

It can be exclusive or multipatfom as long as it has chance coming out......I'm still waiting for Wukong and stellar blade.

Lol @ the term "console exclusive". It should have been mocked, taken behind the barn and shot. The fact that marketing departments have managed to push this is hilarious. It's basically Sony or Microsoft cutting off the other from games.
By the same logic we could call it a PC exclusive.

I think we all should be much more interested in it actually coming out... And looking as good as it did at the showcase. But mostly just coming out at least.

As for exclusivity, it probably just didn't occur for them to make XBOX version.

Japanese games actually release their games most of the time, Chinese or Korean games release some cool ass trailers most of them never come out and the ones do come out are MMOs or F2P gacha games.
Oh, did you mean Wukong? Cause Wo Long is already out.

Yeah unfortunately all these games are MIA except FIST and some other which actually released.

I am really hoping for stellar blade but the reality is, these asian games are vaporware 90% of the time.
In this game, you can see the combat is not real.

That WuKong trailer is still the best looking trailer so far this gen and we have seen fuckall since then. Not falling for it again.

The best game of the showcase imo
If any of that was even real. Like, how?

All these obscure Chinese/Korean games that look other worldly ahead of the competition in animations, gameplay, polish, etc., with zero AAA games or experience under their belts, yet not a single gameplay demo or the like or anything even remotely in a release window.

From the playstation blog:

We are huge fans of the hack and slash genre. Stellar titles like Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden are insanely exhilarating with their huge arsenal of moves and lightning-fast pace. However, they are not for everyone. What’s more popular today is “strategic action game”, such as Soulslikes and Monster Hunter. They choose to slow things down a notch or two, giving players more time for strategic thinking. But that approach doesn’t convey the kind of action fest we have in mind, namely, the sleek, breathtaking moves in Kungfu movies back in the 1990s.

Lucky for us, during the decade making mobile games, we learned to simplify things in favor of touchscreens, giving players a way to execute elaborate chains of moves with a minimum amount of button-mashing. As it turns out, with some tweaks, this mechanism works just as well on controllers.

Sounds like to have the action as fast paced as possible, they reduced player-control. You'll push one button and watch an extended sequence. At least, that's what this sounds like to me.

These animations are why we shouldnt be that impressed with FROM games animations/combat.

This is should be standard at this point for how combat games should at least...look.

if it was real gameplay it will be fucking awful... so either they faked it all or they didn't and it's shit.
Lol why would it be awful.

Because it doesnt look as bad as FROMS animations itncant be real? Thats how games should be looking at this poont from an animation standpoint

I hope Sony put it in the exclusivity contract that payment will only be issued once the game is actually out and looking like the trailer.
Otherwise congrats to the devs for the free money.

Except FROM has put out several successful games with awesome combat that millions of people around the world enjoy.
Unlike all of these Chinese/Korean vaporware games designed to look cool in the trailer and little else.

you should be slapped for this comment, first of all...

but why it would be bad is simple. the actions done by the main character in the trailer basically necessitate that a big chunks of the combat is automated. almost the entire combat footage looks choreographed, which means either it's fake or the player basically holds down a button and most of it just plays out like an automated chain of animations.

so possibility A: it's fake
possibility B: it's extremely dumbed down and flashy without substance

secondly, the camera position is absolute ass, way too close to the character with a low fov, which looks extremely disorienting during the traversal parts of the trailer.

Dude if you cant admit those animations are nastier than any FROM game, atleast visually, then we have an issue lol we both play the same games here, that games animations are nastier. Plain and simple. Souls is stiff in comparison. Have you not played DMC, Bayo, and Ninja gaiden? They also have nastier animations.

And It is possible to choreograph a combat sequence, they used to do it all the time in bayonetta trailers, ninja gaiden, and prince of persia warrior within trailers, Dishonored etc
And those games have excellent combat...so just because the combat actually looks like its not some stiff basic shit like souls. Doesnt automatically mean it isnt real. I mean I know its been awhile since we've seen some nasty shit. But this is sad lol

This was going to happen regardless, no matter the timeline, because Japanese devs usually don't bother porting to Xbox 4 times out of 5 in their country, yet they will port more often for PC and/or Mobile.

Maybe you should wait when these actually come out.

Also animations in FROM games are great and the best part is they are real games and already out for you to play.

I'd argue it does. I don't think Playstation has much of a presence in China either.
The only console that had huge following in China was Nintendo Switch, AFAIK, the crazy number of Switch unit sold you see in Japan, a portion of them are contributed by China (smuggled ones, as the official support in China like everything else is limited by its government)

Youve been gaming for awhile, so have I. We both should know FROM games aint ninja gaiden, bayinetta, or DMC from a mechanical depth standpoint or a stylistically dope animations standpoint. As much as these 2008 era gamers act like its that. Its not. Never has been. Its okay. But pretty simplistic. At least for me.

FROM is great for people that were bad at those games. Its an americans' japanese game. Hence why its more popular in the west than it is in japan lol

Its not hard for a dev with alittle bit of a sick imagination to do some dirtier shit. Finally we got one hopefully.

There are older games with better animations and deeper sicker mechanics that give me more room to be nasty. Like bayonetta, or DMC 3, or ninja gaiden.
Why are we going backwards, I frequently find souls lovers typically, typically are western gamers that cant wrap their head around an S combo. So souls is more...welcoming mechanically.

Give me DMC3 intricacy with souls enemies and im in heaven. But im willing to bet most couldnt play that type of game.

Atleast support the "few" devs who look like they are trying to be nasty with it.

I enjoy both styles, in fact its one of my reason why I'm excited for FFXVI's combat, but with Chinese and Korean games, I need to see the final product.

Sekiro has animations on par or better than those, especially for some of the bosses, the other From games can't be compared because they are a completely different genre. The Souls games have perfectly suitable animations for the type of combat these games have. they have good audiovisual feedback for both the player character as well as the enemies, with good timings for wind-up, hit frames and follow-through.

having fights planned out for a trailer is not the same thing as what we see here.
many of the attacks and evading happening in this trailer are not possible without a hefty amount of automation with the player and enemy being locked into place together to play the animation sequence.
what we see there is most likely a fighting system akin to a mix of Batman Arkham and TLOU2, the simple button presses and parry iputs of batman, with the extended flashy canned animations with locked together characters of TLOU2.

Korea actually...hasnt done that bad. Even though people hate black deserts practices, its combat for an MMO is the simply the best I've played in terms of imagination, animations, and mechanical depth. Its like dmc in an mmo, so korea showed me they are capable of that. Hence why crimson desert will be interesting.

That game looked great. I was surprised gaf wasn't celebrating but most seem to hate a bit too much these days. At least it was gameplay
Yeah its like games are so stiff these days and soulslike that when they see something that looks good, they cant believe what they are seeing. Whereas I dont get excited UNLESS games look like this. A step up. Thats what it looks like.

So you'll admit, that when or if it inevitably doesnt play like that, and isnt automated. That its making FROM look alittle suspect.

Even though for me, souls games were too basic in mechanics for my liking since its inception.

If sekiro had animations that looked like that, then that game wouldnt be worth showcasing and I'd be right there with you praising it. It doesnt look on par with that lol hence why sony bithered showing it to us, its literally the most impressive thing about it.

It doesn't matter because all they're doing is cutting off the competitor by moneyhatting them. It's a shit tactic that should be mocked but we have literal clowns like you applauding it.

Lol, look at the little toddler. He's at the stage where he repeats now.
People were angry about it when Microsoft did it, but apparently Sony has free rein.
