I keep seeing Destiny 2 on the most played games on steam and it's not even a F2P game.
Bungie did something right with it.

Yeah, I cringe when I hear some people talk about the game here. They really have no idea, not a clue on how much good the game offers and why people are so attached to it. They probably played the vanilla campaign for 10 hours and just automatically jumped on the circlejerk train of "bUnGieEee iZ grEEdY" and "dEsTiNnnY sUxxXx".

I get it, game has its flaws and Bungie does things that annoys me too, but there is not a single game like it on the market. It has succeeded where just about every other GaaS have failed. The game is very fun to play with friends, top tier gameplay, offers awesome challenge with its endgame, cool different worlds to explore, secrets to find, rewarding loot to collect, some of the best music in the industry and much more.

That being said, it's not for everyone and does require more time to sink in. The older I get, the more I am okay with that. It's become my go to game.

I feel like that's a pretty good combo there. I was neat looking to me, but I still have a hard time swallowing the whole "extraction shooter" part of it. But, I'll keep an open mind until I see it.

Spiderman 2 is nowhere near. 7m on marvel channel and 5m on PS channel currently. Other channels are on 100k+.

Seems Sony bet on the right horse and know more than us silly gamers about the logistics, projections, etc., with their purchases like Bungie and their pedigree. Time will tell of course.

But they will ensure GaaS success for a very long time to come as long as they don’t do something to screw it up

I wish they’d just focus on Bungie and maybe 2-3 other proven winners rather than gamble on 12 new GaaS titles where 90% of them will fail. Bungie never fails

It doesn't have to. It's from a studio that has a pedigree of delivery with one their legacy and well known in the nerd circles, IP. A cult classic people have been asking about and speculating if they would ever return to since their OG Halo days.
