How long has it been since we had a month like June?

When I was young and you got a console you got 2 games. Super Mario brothers and duck hunt. Now games are just average at best.

my only complaint about this year is the shitty technical issues with a lot of the releases. Made all the more aggravating because these are good games otherwise like Hogwarts and Jedi Survirors

May, but I have no interest in Final Fantasy (the only one I've liked is whatever one had Vaan) or Street Fighter. May for Tears of the Kingdom, June for Diablo. 1:1.

2023 has been killer, one for the history books. So far I've bought:

Dead Space
Hogwarts Legacy
Atomic Heart
Wo Long
RE4R
FFVI
Dead Island 2
Jedi Survivor

Has there ever been a month bigger than June 2023? Doubtful, these 3 are amongst the all-time biggest, most loved franchises in gaming, I'll be getting all of them 👌

I can't remember OP. FF16 and Diablo 4 during the same month. If somebody told me that a year ago, I would've called him insane.

Did I miss something FF6 related or do you mean FF16?

A mainline zelda, street fighter, final fantasy, resident evil(sort of) , diablo in the last 2.5 months. And soon, a new baldurs gate, mortal kombat, alone in the dark, alan wake and a new bethesda ip. Yeah im feasting good this year after a barren 2022.

Three massive massive franchises have games coming out in the same month
-FF16
-Street Fighter 6
-Diablo IV

So far two out of three have reviewed extremely well and I have high hopes for FF16 as well.

Good shit
March 2017? BoTW, Horizon, Neir, but it came with duds like Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and Mass Effect Andromeda.

Yeah, May has already been crazy for me with Zelda earlier this month (not finished yet) and more recently Warhammer 40k Boltgun and System Shock Remake. I'll definitley be picking up Diablo IV and FFXVI at launch, but I also want to get SF 6, Etrian Odyssey Collection and Ghost Trick. Going to wait on those though. I could see FFXVI taking a month for me alone and Diablo IV will just be the game I always go back to for like the next 5 years.

Then fucking Starfield and Armored Core VI are coming, also possible Elden Ring DLC at the end of the year.

I still have FFII Pixel remaster that I've never played and want to get back into some RE4 Remake Mercenaries.

EDIT: Ahh Shit Baldur's gate 3 is coming too, I'm fucked.

This year has been absolutely nuts.

I fully expect ffxvi to review very well but I also expect a large section of the hard-core fanbase to hate it. We will probably start hearing the negativity at launch or shortly after.
