Outside of Neogaf- where do you get your gaming news?

So much filler and spoilers at my gaming news place of choice (Gamerant). Was curious what everyone else uses?

I rarely check any websites for gaming news these days. Used to love Thegia.com way back. Otherwise every blue moon I might Google something I'm specifically after but otherwise I hear a lot of it here. This place isn't as good for the news as it was 10 or more years ago I feel like but it's not bad.

Youtube, twitter I think. And FZ.se amongst others which is a newssite for my country. I miss the days I visited IGN and Gametrailers.com tho. I'd definitely watch like every review on gametrailers then.

smh, gaming news has gotten so fucking bad, any level of integrity is completely gone.

Facts have become irrelevant and the idea of pushing out narratives or exaggerating personally feelings and passing them off as "facts" has become so much of the norm, I'd rather just come on here to see what new thing is happening and we all talk about it. I don't LOOOOOVE EA or Ubisoft, but they've become the go too, "kool kidz" to bash type fake shit in Youtube where because it SOUNDS like the truth, doesn't make it so.

I love listening to Podcast back in the day with Podcast beyond and 1 up yours and all those years ago I actually lost a lot of weight simply walking around the block listening to those Podcast As a daily routine and I would just have a rotation of who I would listen to.

I went from 310 to 215 or so, Either way during those times I enjoyed listening to the perspectives of gamers talking about the industry whether it's about development or sales. Right now stuff on Facebook or YouTube or social media in general is so fucking toxic and sensationalist I can't tell you how many times were there's some YouTube or trying to convince you that Call of Duty or Madden or some popular franchise is going to disappear or doom or some dumb-ass fucking shit for attention.

Some of these individuals have even made statements so fucking bold they're factually just making shit up like one year someone tried to make up that there was no new information regarding the game Anthem , This is not about whether you like the fucking game or not or how you feel about the publisher but the year someone made this claim it very much had an entire walk through at that E3. Instead of anyone pointing this out they instead just bash the publisher.

Even people who were making entire videos talking about Electronic Arts being evil would continue to cite 1313 being canceled based on this publisher despite them never actually having anything to do with this project and that technically being canceled by Lucas arts

So these type of situations shows there's not a real actual fucking interest on factual news.... There is an interest to support a narrative or an agenda or what they perceive is popular to spread regardless of how incorrect or unlikely it actually is.

If you ever want to fucking know how stupid some of these people are take a look at their history of telling us how Call of Duty and assassin's creed was going to be the last one because of some dumb reason lol

Yet....here we are.

Hold on there buddy, how is it? Are you telling me there are more places on internet than GAF? Hey, hear what this crazy person says, funny eh?

OT: YouTube, but there are too many click baity videos sometimes I get tired of them and come here to see if something has been talked about it.

I only check in on game news every couple weeks and it’ll be in my youtube feed. That’s all I need. It used to be fun to follow personalities who were involved in game making but it’s all bland corporate, political bs anymore. No thanks. Just let me know when your formulaic, politically fresh game is out.

YouTube and Twitter. I don’t really know anymore gaming websites that aren’t incredibly obnoxious, agenda-pushing garbage. If anyone has recommendations, I’m all ears.

I don't really search for news and really don't believe anything I hear until I hear it from an official source.

But on the rare occasion I am I go to that game/developers subreddit or r/gamingleaksandrumors

Tbh I only use GAF these days. Was at Restera a couple years, there is lots of activity but I realize I’m a dinosaur among modern audiences and it was exhausting to watch my tongue at all times to not step on any toes and get bans. I don’t really watch Youtube either. Or Reddit. Or Facebook. Or Gaming News websites outside of a local review site around big releases.

So if something happens and isn’t posted on GAF I probably won’t know about it. That’s why I didn’t like when that VR guy Eddie got banned, I don’t have a clue what’s happening in the VR space anymore.

GAF needs an official Gaming News section! Maybe there is some AI bot that can be used if nobody have the time to do the hard work?
