"Todd Howard says he's mostly playing Starfield on an Xbox Series S when he's playing at home (his kids hog the Series X). Says it's running nicely."

I don't understand these quotes. Todd, or anyone whose invested in making the game, isn't going to say - Yea, Stephen. It's a real downer. My kids are hogging the Series X and I've been forced to try and get by on the Series S where it's significantly downgraded from what I'm used to.

I'm sure it's still being optimized. I guess it's taking the word of someone who wouldn't actual say how it's running. There's been a few times where (marketing person) states they are playing on (which ever console) and its running great. Then it comes out and it's completely broken. Cyberpunk on Ps4/One come to mind

I mean the guy is PC fanatics. This is Phil praising xss.

The CPU isn’t bad in the series S and with much lower resolution (it’s also not pushing things graphically, or with particles etc) then maybe the Series S will end up being more consistent in terms of performance.

I wouldn't expect Todd, or anyone else on the Team to do anything less. It's like getting a product review from a sponsored infomercial. And to be fair, I wouldn't expect a marketing Team or product leader from any company to do anything else. That's why I don't get the point of the statement

They announced the new xss black 1tb storage. So having starfield promote that system is a huge bonus for them.

I understand that much. I'm getting at that no one would say the true state of how it ran and would leave the user to figure it out for themselves after launch. The point of "it runs great" is a pointless tweet since you'll never really know until you have it.
Also, I'd love to see a Starfield special edition console like Halo. (I love the space/NASA Theme)

The only way I see this happening is with Xbox engineers swallowing that Bethesda code and shitting actually good, completely refactored code, 24 hrs a day.

Let's be realistic, running is a far cry from "working" when it comes to Bethesdia (probably spelt that wrong lol)

I expect it to be junky as f@@k on realise
