Naughty Dog Confirms No New Info On Factions At TLOU Day

Didn’t they already publicly acknowledge that the game is not really a priority for them and it’s been peeling staff off to work on more anticipated games?

Lmao. What a disaster.

And Tom Henderson report that they are making TLOUSpart2 remaster with is the most hilarious thing I have heard.
Why? I mean, late next year or early 2025 we'll see the release of the second season of HBO's The Last Of Us, so it definitely makes sense for them to want to re-release Part II for PS5 & PC with some graphical enhancements that would put it on par with the Part I remake.

Kind of a clownish thing to say and revisionist.

They released 4 games and a dlc on the PS3 and all the games utilized the same engine, the first of which was pretty forgettable.

Uncharted 2 is when they made their mark on the PS3 and that didn't happen until 2009, three years after the launch of the console, and they were working off the template in Uncharted 1, not coming off a pandemic.

They're almost certainly working on 2-3 games at the moment, one of which we believe to be an original IP for the first time since 2013.

Insomniac hasn't done any new IP or genres this generation and has relied entirely on past engines and assets...

We'll see I guess. But man, if their next 3 releases are TLOU2 Remastered/Remake (I really hope this doesn't exist), TLOU Factions and TLOU3, lol...

At least we know Insomniac is doing Wolverine. And holy shit are they productive compared to ND. Not like the quality of their work is really any lower either.

Do you really think ND is making a brand new engine for their next game? Of course they're not, they have a great one. But TLOU1R looks A LOT like TLOU2, even though it was supposedly made from the ground up for PS5 (it wasn't).

Would love to see their original plan for factions 2. I get a feeling they wanted to put a ND spin on multiplayer and have the game be more about a evolving turf war story that all players participate in instead of just making it about loot and gaas.

TGO

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
I'm not expecting anything from ND except for TLOU2 Remaster and Season 2 of TLOU.
TLOU3 will happen because it's all Druckmann has got.
Until then he'll keep milking it and Sony will be happy as long as it's successful.
But the old Naughty Dog is dead.

I'm sure they are making The Last of Us 3. Sony and HBO must want it to happen.
Yeah but we're how far into this gen and we nary got a peep from this studio on anything PS5 related and I'm not talking about remasters of old games.
They are why most people buy a PS console alongside the efforts of Sony Santa Monica and Insomniac.

Just disappointed we've not seen ND announce or show something that makes the PS5 shit a few bricks.

So hang on, they release TLOU2 on PS4 in June 2020, upgraded it for PS5 in May 2021, get to finish off dev on the Part 1 remake released in September 2022, with a Windows port released in March 2023.

Oh, and of course there was the HBO mini-series in the mix also...

That seems like quite a bit of output given 20/21 were massively disrupted by Covid and there had to be major downtime following the crunch to get TLOU2 done - including a transition to remote working for the final push - as that project had been in full production since 2017 with pre-prod apparently commencing around 2014.

I think some people need to adjust their expectations to a rational level.

Because they could waste money and time in a new IP? Maybe use the money to make a sequel? Or even, IDK, waste their time and money into the multiplayer project they promisse since the day launch of this game?

The only thing TLOUSpart2 needs is a patch to get 60 fps.

This is like a deplorable state of Sony Studios doing remakes and remasters over and over again. They are still doing a remake, repeat, A REMAKE of Horizon Zero Dawn with is a nearly recent game.

Quite frankly they need to give this franchise a rest and move on into new projects.

10 Year Anniversary Stream tomorrow at 9 AM PT but no new or upcoming TLOU games info. Discuss.

All I gotta say is "Baby what is u doin?"

Personally I was a HUGE fan of TLOU Factions on the PS3/PS4 Remastered. I did all the trophies TWICE. Multiplayer was great. I am really hoping it's not canned.

This whole Factions debacle has to be one of the biggest gaming fuck ups from a premiere developer in a while.

Very disappointed with Naughty Dog this gen!

- No PS5 update for LoU2 (haptics/resolution increase etc)

- Lied about LoU Part 1 remake being a next gen PS5 showcase. It's pretty but should've been SO much more. Also lied about "enhanced exploration" of which there is none.

- No inclusion of original Factions with $70 LoU1 Remake.

- Factions 2 being botched and seems like it's not happening, which means we won't get to experience more of that wonderful LoU multiplayer with LoU2 visuals and mechanics.

- Uncharted 4 remaster underwhelming. They even downgraded the gi on Nathan. Also, they didnt include the wonderful Uncharted 4 multiplayer for ..reasons.

I'll believe it when I see it. We thought LoU2 ps5 patch would come at same time as overpriced LoU1 Remake1 or start of Season 1 but didn't happen.

Factions was obviously hitting major development issues and they had to go back to the drawing board.

who the fuck is going to log into this to learn about merch, like what the hell haha

The studios is a mess. This is the price to move for a model(gaas mp) u don't have skill for.
This is why Sony bought bungie to invest and get help in GaaS. But let's be honest, if you've never played Destiny 2 and it's your first time, you have to spend a fortune to get all the expansions. It's really an expensive fucking game to get into.

Why did Sony even force bungie down naughtydogs throat....they had a great blueprint with the original tlou multiplayer they could add some multiplayer apps add some depth and thats good enough. Imagine how frustarting it must be for a top tier dev to have your publisher waltz in and bring in a studio who hasnt made a game comprabale to yours in quality since the ps3 gen and have them basically trash all your plans and leave your game in limbo hell and waltz off.

This is not to let off ND off the hook either they have been coasting big time this gen simply going for lazy remasters and claiming them as next gen offerings.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Faction seems like it's essentially vaporware now.

They can announce TLoU Part 1 and 2 coming to PS+ to give people a goodie in the interim.

Why are they dragging this non-sense out for another year? More poorly branded water bottles? Just stop.

We have no idea the games they're developing. You're assuming it's games you can think of, which is confirmation bias at its finest. Obviously, you aren't going to guess that it's Heaven's Arena... because we don't know what Heaven's Arena is.

Miles Morales isn't lower than the quality of work ND does?

TLOU1 was a quick cash grab

I’d say celebrating 10 years of one of the most decorated franchises in gaming would be pretty important.
And if that was the focus of this event, I wouldn't have posted at all. Yet, the focus is: ".. stream tomorrow at 9am PT featuring announcements focused on art, merch, and more...". "The Last of Us Day" has been a merch dump for a while now.

It's really quite remarkable. They came up with a simple and amazingly fun multiplayer game. The gameplay is near perfect, and all they needed to do is create some more multiplayer maps. But apparently that's just too hard.

They're aiming a little bit higher than the first one.

Either this game is getting cancelled or Bungie is corrupting it with its GAAS poison. I think people should really lower their expectations for the game.
