I am not even sure that Starfield will be nominated for GOTY at this point. I thought it would be a bone thrown to Microsoft by various outlets (even with having zero change of winning the title at the end), but the critical reception of this game is lagging so far behind all the other awesomes hits that we got this year that it does not deserve any place in the competition imho.

Issue is that history is not on his side. Outside of Forza (and even this has now faltered), what was the last Xbox-only (Xbox/PC) game that lit up the critical charts? What was the last Xbox game that fulfilled its pre-release promises? If 2023 is anything to go by, odds are not in their favor.

I predicted above a 90. After Control I knew Remedy had hit their stride. There’s clearly some magic sauce finally envisioned and it started with quantum break.

QB they finally figured out fun combat and some well done story telling. Its major downfall IMO is the watch 20+ minute videos shit.

Control elevated the idea of this formula, tied their universe together, and provided players sweet sweet fun.

This I was worried would regress in interesting combat since AW1 combat is diarrhea.

I’m gone for work and flying back home tomorrow to get this on GeForce now ultimate bangers edition.

, I thoroughly enjoyed and still vividly remember when I played it on the 14th of May 2010 while everyone else was playing RDR so to speak. I loved the small town setting of Bright Falls so much, Stephen King atmosphere and story. I chose to play it when it was dark outside with the volume of my HT turned up. Such a special experience. A chapter every day to digest it properly. Remedy put so much thought in details. The sounds when out in the woods...gave me shivers at times so well done. The game was really ahead of it's time, it was so ambitious and what Remedy accomplished on the Xbox360 back then was remarkable.

Last year I played through the remake and to me the game didn't feel outdated, it's still a masterpiece in my mind.

Seeing the high praise the sequel receives now is almost unbelievable and to good to be true in a way. As I said earlier I pre-ordered the game (the Deluxe edition on XSX to be exact) and was waiting for over a decade on the sequel, been waiting for so long a day longer wouldn't be a problem right? I'm so hyped right now I probably can't even go to sleep tonight.
