Complete and utter bollocks."Apparently the most talented staff from Codemasters who made the Dirt Rally games left the company when EA took over. So although on paper it sounds good to have a WRC game made by the same studio, to all intents and purposes it's not except in name only."
There’s no shader comp so not sure what that’s all about
Do you see 1.2 or 1.3 version? Some peoples are reporting the patch bugged out. Might want to verify integrity of files if on PC.
There's supposed to be a pre-shader comp at the start.
Installing the patch right now so I might report in a few minutes on it.
If they like , the can implement both .Apparently they picked dynamic shader compile rather than the pre-compile at start. Loading times to stage seem to be longer so that might be the extra work for shader comp.
I notice less stutters. Not gone, but less.
Just picked up WRC generations for cheap instead. Lets see how this goes.
Its good for the price these days, plenty to do with the retro rally stuff & online events. I ended up back on WRC10 before this tho as Generations had some weird frame pacing issue for me. I could mitigate it by playing at 120fps, but then that meant DLSS performance which looks a bit naff on a 48" screen
Played the trail, looked hush hush, deleted.
No this one , in the OP. EA WRC.The one I proposed?
Looks close enough i have to say
Are you playing with a controller or wheel? If controller i really recommend a cheap wheel.I feel like something is bugged since the patch for controllers and tarmac. Either my controller is crapping out of its become uncontrollable. I did mediterranea races a lot in the past week, even with freaking RWD cars! Plenty of WRC junior and Rally 2 & 4 cars in those tarmac races. I actually for once found tarmac stages fun!
But it's all fucked now. It seems to control as I expect a few times and then SUPER oversteer, the kind almost to make an hairpin turn and i smash in the wall or off the fucking cliff.
Anyone else?

After my trial ended on series X I installed dirt rally 2 and I'm amazed how much better it looks.
I know graphics aren't everything but If u would've told me this was,an Xbox 360 game I wouldve believed u
Hard to explain... the stages feel more grounded to reality, in almost every sense, wether it's the design of it or even how the houses are placed or the effects of distance far away, on top of the fact that ~35km stages trounces anything length wise that was in DR2.
Or maybe I put too many hours in DR2 and I'm just fed up with the way it looked haha.
See that mountain at the beginning of the stage? We're going to DRIVE there! And that's a small stage. When you go in ~30ish km stages, you sometimes do multiples of them.
To me this is more impressive than a few shader effects that, while i wouldn't spit on improvements, they don't really matter for the driving experience.
it’s a different game with a wheel. I have the old Logitech Driving Force PS4/PC and while not natively supported it works great so maybe a used one can be found cheap.Controller sadly. But the thing is that it was fine at version 1.2
Do you have the DF GT or Pro, because i have two and the GT is definitely the better one.Graphics are a draw back for sure but they’re still good enough to convince me of speed and create nail biting moments on those mountain side hair pin turns.
Speaking of hair pin, does anyone else feel the co-driver calls are a bit late sometimes? I have occasionally blasted through the turns simply because the call came after the turn.

That‘s the one I have. It’s seeming no longer supported by Logitech.Do you have the DF GT or Pro, because i have two and the GT is definitely the better one.
This one is better
Congratulations, it's a good wheel (specially compared to the Pro) and indestructible. It still works with modern games also. That‘s the one I have. It’s seeming no longer supported by Logitech.
Patch says it had a lot of performance target improvements such, again, shader compilation, but peoples on reddit are claiming they don't notice anything inherently different as of now.
I ain't too mad about the performance as of now honestly, I've seen game releases in much worse states on PC. Hopefully they don't drop the support.
