If you're Sony boss what would you do with Fairgame$?

Got to get released. From a purely curious stand point I want to see it.

I feel like we were robbed when Hyeas got pulled just before release. Right call for SEGA, but it meant we didn't get to see where all that money was spent. Same goes here.

This Gaas gold rush really fucked Sony this gen, we could've had Uncharted 5, a new Motorstorm, Killzone, infamous, Resistance, Getaway instead we got an endless supply of concords.
 
I would have asked to fuck jade raymond before she fucked us by leaving before the project was complete like she always does (and did), at least i would have one single good memory about the whole project.

I would put pressure on the horizon team to make Horizon 3 with traditional team death match, put out a new socom and its missing a good syfy shooter.
 
Free early access. Let it evolve and see if it has any traction to bother polishing, marketing and releasing

If I were lead of Sony and they showed me that character that's supposed to be the face of the game, they would have been out on their asses just for that alone before the game got into pre-production.
 
Make it F2P and release on everything to see if it sticks or... Keep the original plan and maybe...

Funny thing is some people have said for laughs Haven is probably already shut down, but they are keeping it down low.

I actually wouldnt be surprised. That Jade Raymond firing (which no doubt she was as it came out of nowhere I think on a Friday) was a major red flag already. Heard nothing from her or the game the entire time except for I think one trailer.
 
Here's my plan in 3 steps :

1. Shut down Fairgame$ as soon as possible.
2. Wait for the Marathon shutdown.
3. Merge all three games into a brand new Battle Royale.

I would make a CCU app for it with real money gambling and such, because right now there are more people watching Marathon CCU graphs than playing it.

lol, no. The trailer came out years after YouTube got rid of dislike counts and every 3rd party offering an extension that "adds dislike back" is less than useless.

The last time we saw Fairgame$ was 3 years ago. Marathon changed a lot in the 3 years since they started talking about it and when they actually showed it off last year, so this game has probably changed quite a bit as well. The fact that Jade Raymond is no longer there tells me the game has probably been changed quite a bit.

Will this game be good? Who knows. We certainly don't. So to suggest that it should 'obviously' be completely reworked - when we have no idea what it is yet - just doesn't track.

Have you seen it to see what state it is in? I dont even remember seeing a single screenshot of it or has something been released lately?

Would have had to announce it by the next earnings call after it happened. Marathon launched in March, and the next call is almost exactly a month from today. If Sony is suddenly squeamish about the whole thing, we'll find out before then.
 
Cancel it completely.

Layoff a few blue haired staff.

Go on a hiring spree, search for both upcoming and veteran talent.

Tell them they are rebooting SOCOM.

Tell them it must have a legit single player campaign, that you'd expect from a Sony First Party studio.

Fund them accordingly.

Profit.
 
Rename the game to Food$tamps
Milk development of the game to keep jobs
Release the game in 3 years
Make a tweet saying we are here for the long run, don't look at player engagement
Shut the game down in 2 weeks
Collect Food$tamps

Make it PvE focused with Rainbow Six gadgets needed to infiltrate different security systems like laser systems/puzzle rooms. Set it in moody atmospheric environments like those found in Hitman/Ready or Not. Actually appealing character designs and attractive cosmetics that can be purchased for doing well in the missions.

The first ting would be to ask what the fuck is even happening with the game.

Second would be to check if Jade Raymond still works there and I can get a couple of meetings in with her.

Would be better to ask if all that investment on GaaS, aka money burning, resulted in any kind of fruition.

Bro, to us hc veteran gamers who played coop/multiplayer games in the 90s and 2000s all modern gaas genre games are about as attractive as a penis to a straight dude, even if its black 12incher we can only look at it with disgust :messenger_sunglasses:

If we consider oldschool WoW gaas then thats what is(or rather was) stellar example of how it should be done, targetted towards us, males, extremly high value proposition aka relatively low monthly sub(no mtx) and u got for it high quantity and quality of content on a constant basis(both pvp and pve, solo and coop).
