Looks good as expected. Nothing mind blowing, just good old game, fuk' em up combat with great hero fanservice in spades.

Said so from the beginning. Idk what people are expecting from Sony games these days. Uncharted 2 every time ?
 
Imagine if Rocksteady decided that for the Batman Arkham series they specifically didn't cast Kevin Conroy to voice Batman because they didn't want to pay the voice actor or they purposely wanted to differentiate the games from other entries/appereance in the franchise.

That's the feeling I got when I didn't hear Steve Blum's voice come out of the mouth of this Wolverine not only they did not hire him but this new voice actor doesn't feel like Wolverine something about is not clicking with me.

It doesn't impress me that the game is bloodier than a British twat. Wolverine's claws being just sharp enough for token dismemberment ruins my suspension of disbelief. It feels like Wolverine is being filtered through some retarded, arbitrary policy. "You can't say motherfucker, but you can say mother father!"

I remember Itagaki had some quote that was essentially 'in other action games, the player attacks the enemy. In Ninja Gaiden, the enemy attacks the player'.

Welp. That was really underwhelming. How did Insomniac go from Spider-Man, one of the best looking games on PS4, to... this? This looks like an average PS4 game.

Even beyond graphics, it just looks... boring. Simple. And if Spider-Man 2 is anything to go by, the story and characters are going to be about as annoying as humanly possible.

I miss the old Insomniac. :messenger_crying:
 
Generic marvel game.

Animations looks good. Visceral combat. The rest looks completely as expected.

We all know exactly how it will play. Reasonably fun. Immediately forgettable.
 
The gore is really cool, but I'm still not sure about the combat. Watching this I'm not particularly blown away, unfortunately. But I LOVED Wolverine as a kid, so, I'll at least lightly follow.
 
Baby faced wolverine. Insomniac always nails the character designs.

Have to agree with the other posters here on it looking like a ps4 game.

Oh I see Debra Wilson is in this game too.

If I was her I wouldn't also mind to appear in almost all AAA games since 2019, but on the devs' side, I don't understand why they all go with her specifically. There is nothing more off-putting to see her characters as "yet another Debra Wilson performance".

This is increasingly my problem with modern Western gaming.

It's all gotten so competent, but rarely is it great. That's the vibe I get from Sony 3rd person simulators these days.

It's cool it's so bloody, but then it's ruined by still doing that thing where the blood is only around for like 5 seconds before it starts fading away off the character killing the immersion of it, Bloodbourne figured out how to keep the blood around back in 2015, a game in 2026 with this much tech behind it should be able to as well.

Honestly Insomniac was always about making fun gameplay without those Naughty Dog graphics. That's probably how they manage to make so many games per gen even currently.
Even the first Spider-Man wasn't all that graphically when you compared it with say Uncharted 4, Killzone Shadow Fall, Horizon, etc.

Speaking of this...i need another Ratchet thank you.

I can't deny that I expected to be wowed with the visuals, it's Insomniac.....

But it seemed underwhelming to me, something with the lighting? Maybe I misremember but didn't the leaked clips have better lighting especially?

Also, where's the gore? In the trailer after the gameplay demo we do see Wolverine hurting a enemy and the body is partly sliced in half if that makes sense. So I guess there's that.

Sure, I guess if Debra Wilson has a great agent and she was guaranteed a prominent role on the Wolverine video game, one of the few B-roles that works out but isn't too distracting would be Callisto.

She would get a few strong lines, have her quick spotlight mission (which is probably early in the game considering how often they're showing it), then after he helps her, Wolverine leaves to continue his world-spanning adventure.
 
It looks interesting, similar to Spiderman. The key will be whether they manage to create a decent hack and slash.

Did they change the actor?

Why are they giving a high-tech costume to a hairy guy who's hundreds of years old, like Wolverine? It makes no sense.

What is the protagonist of Control doing in an Insomniac game?

The cartoon is literally the reason why people want Wolverine to wear the stupid yellow/blue suit over his superior Brown/Orange suit.
