You know... you shouldn't trust racists to begin with :/
That's why I'm not helping them. Seriously. I'm not too far into the game anyway (only level 11 and I just found that old guy in the main quest) but yeah. I'm probably going to side with the empire, because, well, yeah. I wish they weren't racist. =(

Also, I wanted to enter the magic college but I didn't have enough magic to cast fear. So. Irritating.

Did it make you so irritated that you just wanted to shout?

Seriously, just shout and they'll let you in.

EDIT: But shout at the target on the floor, not at her directly.

Level your enchantment and cast all your spells for free!

Edit: I think I missed the point of his post.

did that happen to you too?

Yup. Did the first big thing where you go into the estate and burn the hives, the quest completed and I never got the next one. I need to talk to the Black-Briar chick but I don't have the quest for it and nobody important says anything.

Considering I'm playing as a stealth character, it realllly sucks.

I would just like to say that I love the Dark Brotherhood. It was the only guild I fully completed in Oblivion, and I can't wait to see where this storyline goes. I'm just glad that the main quest in this game doesn't suck. God, the main quest in Oblivion SUUUUUUCKED

could I console command my way through the thieves guild by chance?

Yeah:

Go to the page of what quest you want to advance through here:
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Thieves_Guild_(faction)#Quests

Go to the bottom of the page, where the quest stages are listed. There are instructions there for how to advance through the stages from the console. You might want to set the stage just before the last one so you can get the reward for turning it in.

Will probably cause extreme bugginess.

Yeah, you can.
Just get the jump on him, but you probably have to wait until he starts to make his move toward Margret, or it'd likely count as murder

what about the event in solitude ?
it can be stopped, because i once did, but i was wondering what happens next
besides getting your ass kicked by guards, i mean

I may have found a bug.

I'm trying to do the first mission in the "Join the Imperial Army" quest where you are supposed to clear out a bandit filled fort. The guys there are kinda strong for me (I'm level 28) but there's this one archer that shoots me with only one arrow and kills me instantly. Even when I have a 200 armor rating... boom one hit kill.

At first I thought I was just a glass mage but then I lured a Dragon over to the fort and the dude killed in like one (possibly two) shots. WTF, how am I supposed to do this?

So being torturers and murderers is okay as long as they're not racist? Because compared to what the empire does, I can put up with a little racism. Also, the people in charge of the Stormcloaks don't seem to be racist if you talk to them about it. It's just some of the rabble.

huh when I enter the console command(setstage TGTQ02 200) nothing happens...

Do other stages work? I don't have that quest yet but setting the stage works for other quests for me.

You could also try 'completequest tgtq02', but I don't know if that correctly triggers any new quests related to finishing that quest.

I had pretty much the same issue come up with the Companions quest line, and using console commands was no help. I eventually managed to get the quest completed in my quest log, but I could not get the actual game to pick up again with the next quest. Really hope that doesn't happen to any of the other questlines for me.

nope to both of these. It's acting like I finished the quest....

I found a save from yesterday that I loaded and it worked fine, but that means I lost the 4 hours of progress from today... :( maybe I'll move on from this game until DLC and patches.

As an archer, do i need to have a companion at all times? That would really put me off playing as one. Or can i handle mobs up close anyway?

I just sit from a distance and pick em off one by one. so no you don't need a companion. and once you unlock the stun perk dealing with people up close is no problem

I decided to stop by my house in Whiterun to catch up with the Mrs and grab a homecooked meal (also to feed from her, because sunlight, it burns). She greets me by the cooking pot "Hello, my love." We converse, she gives me some gold and a meal. At this point I am shocked to see FEET coming down the stairs behind her! Who the fuck is this?! In my house, with my wife?! Some random elf guy sheepishly joins us from the bedroom. He mentioned something about giving her poetry, it's all a blur after that. He won't be bothering her again, but I'll miss those homecooked meals.
I fed on the neighbour instead.
This game is amazing.

Same thing happens here. It so annoying. Lydia died so I just gave up.

Looks like my map. I've recently adopted a policy of not going into dungeons unless I already have a quest for it, just because I feel like I'll never finish the game otherwise. I've broken my policy a few times, usually because I'm intrigued by what I find outside of the dungeon (enemy speech, book, etc.) but overall I'm doing great and making much better progress. It's just as well, anyway, since I was starting to get disappointed with some of the repetition (particularly anything involving draugr or dwarves, especially after Blackreach in the latter case).

yep, I'll go down that route. I need to finish this game and soon, I cannot be distracted anymore than them black dungeons to uncover, which are too easy anyway fo a level 47 like me, with 86k golds, all houses, all decorations, a staggering amount of 1k jewelry, 68 dragon bones, 52 scales, and pricy armor stored. I think they're more than in FO3, and my backlog is ridiculous, so anotther day or two and it's time to call it a day

I just thought it was weird scaling, I had archers one shotting me back when I was around level20ish, and I had pretty high armor ratings (light armor) but during this one quest I would get one shotted by archers, I had to tone down the difficulty (I was playing on normal too) for a quest or two and didn't have this problem ever since so I bumped it back up so I just thought my combat skills were just low.

The balance has been weird for me the entire game, at one point I would get one shotted by random bandits, while killing dragons and bears just fine, or I could be one shotting everything in my way, felt like only thing that scaled were the damage dealt/taken, making it kind of annoying.

Yeah I married Camilla, I've since heard that the poetry thing is a very early quest from Riverwood that I must have missed. So when I've married her and moved her into my house in Whiterun the quest guy has followed and stayed the night in my home lol.
It really did look like I'd caught them doing something dodgy!

Hm, that doesn't really sound like much fun either though :) I want a challenging class to play, but still effective. Is mage viable and how is it played? Full destruction/resto? I tried playing a battlemage, using a one hander and destro, but not sure if that's viable. Was insanely hard early on anyway.

Anyone else been getting frame rate issues on 360 now too? (sorry if this has been discussed already).

http://youtu.be/uLkd4dtCGB0?hd=1

Only about 26 hours so far on that game save.

I had the same framerate issue. It got choppy always when that Briarheart dude found me. Same place, same enemy. Other than that I've had no problems. My game time was about 30-40 hours at that point. Solved the problem by sniping him from the hill. Somehow it didn't get choppy when I was up on the mountain.

That looks more like what happened to my game once on the PC. There was this guy who tagged along to help clear out a dungeon. When the quest finished, he stayed on the same spot, I guess the path tracking bugged out on him. If I talked to him the framerate was smooth, but once I started walking anywhere the framerate was exactly like in your video. Once I got out of the dungeon the framerate went back to normal. This happened like on my 6th save over 100 hours of play, so it wasn't something permanent.
