Hopefully the image is accurate and this film will focus on a small number of characters as opposed to Summer Wars, which had such a large cast that it felt really unfocused at times.

It did? It never felt that way to me. I mean sure it did have a large cast but all the main players were pretty clearly defined and brought to the forefront in a way that felt natural.

I'd been holding off on starting the remastered Utena sets until I had them all in-hand, and I just watched the first episode for the first time in probably six years. Still so good. Shoujo needs more protagonists like Utena.

Stairs never get old for me because I just view them as a singalong break. I love all versions of Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku.

If you say so. The main problem, really, was that the main character did not have enough charisma and personality compared to the family dynamics of the large cast. Just compare him to Makoto, I mean, I can't even remember his name.

To be fair, I don't really remember anyone's name.

15 pages and no mention of a sequel to Bakemonogatari? Did I miss the memo and has it already been confirmed to be a trainwreck or is just nobody interested in this?

Bakemonogatari was about the only thing of recent years besides Gurren Lagann and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt that interested me.

Shouldn't the Martian Successor Nadesco one be included?

Annoying police guy, fat baseball fan, mother, mother, mother, grandpabro, father, father, baseball guy, father, Tokyo U guy, awesome grandma, baby 1, baby 2, baby 3...

I think that's it for the side characters.

We have a few vocal haterz but shaftbros are all ready to go for Nisemonogatari.

Fist of the North Star 22

Good end to the first arc. Even if Shin didn't put up as much as a fight as I had hoped, it was definitely a cool switch up for our invincible protagonist.

Also, I didn't realize this was where the "intentionally impaling your hand to obstruct the enemy" came from. Thought Kishimoto was super creative when he did it in Naruto.

I'm revoking your moebro card Regulus.

(Assuming you ever applied for one in the first place)

Moé is great and all, but the shit they pulled up with Senjougahara or whatever in the first two episodes was the most blatant and shameless type of emotional manipulation I've ever experienced watching animu. Not to mention you cannot expect me to take such a character straight just ten minutes after you show her in underwear.

Comedy relief/fanservice works as a reward for sticking with a show, not as the main appeal.
Me decepcionas, cabrón.
(Los primeros dos episodios de) Bakemonogatari es (son) mierda y te deberías sentir mal por disfrutar de ello(s).

Spice and Wolf would've been much better if it was about medieval economics, rather than Economis 001.

Everything is tsundere to me
Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing 9

A set-up episode this time. Almost got a bit :firehawk at times, with reflection being a free action during the impromptu Anime Hockey game. But I was just a slight bit disappointed;
I was hoping that Giselle's continued insecurity about Fam would continue to simmer for a few episodes yet, and culminate into something a bit more tragic. But alas, I suppose character drama isn't much the point to season 2's plot and it'll be more how these characters deal with the burdens given them. At the same time though, it doesn't rule out Fam eventually having a crisis of faith (to be eventually overcome), and I can definitely sense something simmering, but until then, at least everyone are still decent, sane people.
Anyway, with what happened at the end, I'm expecting the next episode to be much more plot heavy, potentially with
the rest of the old cast making their appearance, and if so, I hope Mullin is there! (best character from S1)

Funny thing of the episode: Happy Birthday, not in Greek, but in a Greek transliteration of the English into acrylic. HA!

Didn't have much else to watch so I figured I'd give this another go. I really should have given this show more of a chance the first time around. It's extremely well done. There is a respect in many of the interactions between characters that creates a very pleasant atmosphere throughout the show. This pushes the viewer along to want to spend more time with the characters and see where they wind up. Glad I came back to it, because it's really impressing me at every turn.

That was fucking awesome. First episode since the second ep to get me really excited about the show. Berserkah was pretty jarring early on but who cares, fucking hype.

Rider is clearly the best. What a goddamn man.

it was hardly 001
more like something vaguely relative to real economics
im pretty sure supply and demand are taught at elementary schools
plus it was more about what they dont teach you that made it interesting (ie. smuggling and forgery)

but it had booze
and nudity
so this movie has a lot to live up to

Don't be like Unknown, Regulus.

Watch the rest of it, and not on Wikipedia.

And still listening to your Sony MDR-V6...

Don't be mad, maybe if you hadn't spent $500 on a pair of headphones, you would be able to buy a new TV too!

ive been watching it on 100+" HD projector for years now
just saying

A projection system was pretty infeasible for me because of the shape of and where the windows are in my living room. Believe me, I thought about it, a projector costs about the same as a really big TV. In the end I decided it wasn't worth the effort to put in a projector, a screen, rearrange my whole living room to accommodate it, and then have to sit so close that each pixel was the size of my fist. :|
