Now that Kmart and Sears are probably not long for this world. I was just thinking about the past and shopping or eating at chains that are long gone.

I remember Hills and going right to the toy section when I was a kid. I also remember them because before Christmas they would always have that Santa commercial and the jingle ♬ "Hills is where the toys are."♬

I used to really like Rax. I thought their roast beef was way better than Arby's. I used to loved their baked potatoes and their shakes were out of this world. There might still be a few left in the world but they are long gone from anywhere around me.

I used to love Chi-Chi's when I was a kid. I really loved their seafood enchiladas. However, hepatitis reared it's ugly head at one location and now they're all gone.

I know why Ames went out of business. The places were dirty with merchandise scattered all over the place. However, the one near me used to have an awesome arcade. I would play for hours.

So, for good or bad, what are some of the long, gone places you remember frequenting?

Alpha betas and thriftys are ones that I truly miss. Mainly due to the fact that I used to go there with my grandma all the time.

Can't remember the name, but it was this barbecue/steakhouse chain. You'd order when you went in, and get a number plate the food would be delivered to your table. Was pretty good steak too...

Bonanza Steakhouse. Man, that was bugging me....

There was a Little Ceasar's in the Chicagoland area that had this huge play area with weird areas where like you'd press a button and cheese bread would talk to you.

Was? How did this not become an attraction? Coulda been the start of something big, like when The Hills made Les Dueux famous.

Rax was awesome. I loved their alligator drink bottles!

Chi Chi's was my very first job I got when I was 16. Bus boy, dishwasher and then host. I hate Mexican food too.

shoney's was where the fam went to breakfast after church each Sunday. Good times. Seems all the work has already been done here so I have nothing to add.

Not you with avatar change too, I have to memorize whole new images.

Is Kmart going out of business?

I have never not been thoroughly depressed by going inside a Kmart, so that's definitely for the best.

Children's Palace.

You know what was awesome about Children's Palace? They sold import toys like GUNDAM figures and other cool anime stuff. The boxes would be in Japanese and everything, just with an American price tag. It was awesome.

They also had the biggest selection of those '80s RC robots. I always wanted this bad boy:

I believe all the Naugles became Del Taco. I remember the receipt had a quote by "Dick Naugle" on it.

Knobb Hill Farms was a gigantic supermarket back in the day that leased out space for toy shops, and video rentals. Place was amazing.

Blockbuster and Rogers Video/Plus :(
