I applied the hori protector to my 3DS and it's perfect.
It's easy to apply now and get it right first time using the adhesive stickers.

The Hori protector for the 3DS is what I used. It was ridiculously easy to apply. Hopefully the Vita one will be as well if the video is anything to go by.

Hori doing what nobody else does.

That's great!

Can you link to that? I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it's like that.

You make a convincing argument - I assume it's this?

I think so.
It's using the adhesive tabs to fix the protector to the unit before you peel away the side that makes it so easy.
The OCD in me demands that the filter is lined up perfectly before I'm happy and I am sure you know that you can't just take them off and re-apply without getting dust in there.

You won't, trust me.
The way they are placed makes them the premier screen protectors at the moment and I imagine everyone else to copy them soon.

The only thing that makes me nervous about these types of protectors is getting a little piece of dust under it. That would piss me off so bad.

I turn on the shower, let steam build up inside the bathroom. It helps with all the dust floating in the air. Then commence the screen protector installation!

I'm not sure what I'd rather have, the full-body shield or just one that covers just the screen.

I'm getting a Vita at launch since I'm on a 60+ day waiting list for my PS3 to get fixed ( =[ ).

I've got a question.
I'm getting the Wifi model (wishlist) can I still use Near?

Also, do ALL Vitas come with those AR cards, or only those first edition bundles?

For me the full body is the one to get because it seems more seemless when you look at it. The one that just covers the screen you tend to notice that there is a screen protector there but the full body one is less noticeable when just staring at the screen.

I'm holding off on the Hori SP until they provide free shipping... $4.98 shipping and $1.08tax, for a $6.99 product.. lol, nope!

I think I'm going to ditch the First Edition bundle. I really do not want nor need a 3G Vita, and I'm never going to play little deviants. Instead of spending $350 on that, I'll just suck it up for a week and then get:
  • Wifi Vita
  • 8GB Memory Card
  • Wipeout 2048
Which comes out to be $310.

Is a screen protector necessary? I don't have any touch devices.

Hm, it doesn't hurt, you don't really notice them.. .I would definately invest in a pouch though. The original pouch that came with the PSP was perfect, wasn't too bulky either. I hope something similar is there for Vita.

I think it is. You always end up getting little tiny scratches on the screen. Screen protectors cost very little and make sure your device looks pretty much brand new.

Even if I put on a screen protector and it gets scratched, I end up not even bother changing it until I no longer use it.

I'm the kind of person who goes crazy when there is a tiny scratch on something, even if it isn't even the screen, so if it has no effect on the visuals then I'll just get one.

The screen protector is much more prone to scratches than the actual screen is. You should just be aware that you will be seeing a lot of scratches -- you just won't have them on the actual screen.

I ordered the first edition bundle from Best Buy. I really want this thing a week early and I'll probably use the 3G at some point so it will be nice to have. I also ordered Uncharted. I'm gonna pick up one or two more games, I just haven't decided which ones. Oh, and I'll be getting a 16gb card as well.

Yeah, there's wifi location using Skyhook (recognizing known wifi ssids). Its nowhere near good enough for turn-by-turn, but it can get your general location. Especially in cities.

Thanks.

The number of wifi hotspots is rather pathetic in my city, IF i got a 3g, I can still use the GPS without using the 3g correct?
