Bought Dark Incursion. Only played for like 10 minutes, but so far I'm impressed with it. Lovely pixel art, and the controls are fully customizable now (size and placement). It won't make you a believer in virtual controls, but if you are used to them you should be fine.

Apparently controls were the biggest issue with the game. Now let's see if the content is good.

Looked for it on the App Store (US), but it's still listed at $2.99.

Baseball Superstars, progressively, has gotten less and less tolerable over the past years on the App Store. Absolutely love the game and surrounding elements, but I just can't stand the grind anymore.

I'm getting sad seeing all my games in folders lately. Part of the "ooh, let's play that!" factor is gone if I have to view only 12 apps at a time. Thinking of expanding it back to one huge wall of apps.

Started to get back into Bug Princess. Working on Ultra difficulty now. Forgot how fun it is.

Shogun..I need to practice that stage 4 boss. Those claws that come out get me every time.

Been playing Super Crossfire HD. My type of game.

My iPad 2 has been getting a ton of action lately. More than my 360 lol.

Man, I thought I was the only one. Folders are like exile for my apps. Anything that goes in them inevitably never gets played.

I thought the temporarily free Minecraft World Explorer was the one from Mojang... amazing that they can use the name Minecraft without any problems.

Just finished King Cashing at 77 days! #1 out of my Gaf friends!
It took me 150+ days to complete it, but I did grind/exploit some of the sections. I suck at fruit machines, so I treated it as 'random' rather than trying to stop the reels on specific options.

Do you think you'd play it again?

It is a slot game based RPG, Really quick paced battles. It is a slot machine, and you equip each slot with different bonuses hoping to pull enough heros and weapons to defeat your enemy. It is hard to explain how it works, given it is not your typical rpg.

That sounds like the battle arena at the Gold Saucer in Final Fantasy VII. In that, you control Cloud and between each wave of enemies, a slot machine decides what random buffs or debuffs you get.

I recently unfriended some people on Gamecenter. Not to get me higher up on the leaderboards but because they were clearly cheating. Do others tend to do that, or do you just don't care?

The Kids vs Goblins interactive art book is now available for free in ibooks for iPad!

The Kids vs Goblins art book gives a behind the scenes look at how Stolen Couch Games created the game.

With more than 40 pages of high resolution concept art, videos and interactive 3d models the Kids vs Goblins art book gives you a perspective of how it is to be an artist at Stolen Couch Games.

And best of all: The Kids vs Goblins art book is completely free.

Enjoy!

Clever marketing there, I hope it works for you. When does the game come out btw?

How do people cheat, anyway? is it Jailbreak people?

I'm a game developer so I'm often curious as to which methods people are using.

I don't know about methods but you can tell, in Temple Run for example, when they have an absurdly high runscore combined with an absurdly low coinscore, which obviously points toward them achieving a state in the game where they can just leave the game on over the night or so.

I actually have a bug high score on Angry Birds, for some reason my Game Center score in Episode 1 is 15,600,000 whereas in the actual game it's around 4,000,000. Significantly less and I don't know how it happened.

I hope I don't get punished because I didn't do anything wrong and my phone isn't even jailbroken.

Only the first two chapters are free. IAP for the full game is $9.99 according to toucharcade.

Hate that they've chosen to market the game like that (I think it cheapens the product, personally), but that's an excellent price for the game. It was worth the full price on DS, and I imagine it will play just fine on iOS, considering everything is pretty much touch-based already. Gorgeous, gorgeous game, and very playful in its design and story.

I'm not sure whether I would pick this up at $10 on the iPad without trying it out first, but with the first couple of levels as a demo (and a test of whether my iPad 1 copes) I think it's fine. It's just a shame that IAP is the only tidy way to do it.

Do you think the 'lite' version is better?

Ffff I want it so bad. I wasn't planning on replaying this game anytime soon as I don't carry my DS with me anymore but I'll be doing it as soon as I can buy this. Definitely warrants a new thread imo, if only to give the release more exposure.

Yeah I generally don't like IAP unlocks for the full game either but in Ghost Trick's case it really benefits the game because it's something most people have to try themselves to get a hint of what the game is about.

The worst thing about lite/demos is that if you decide to pick it up.... you pretty much have to redo all the stuff you played again.

Yeah, it's definitely a game that will sell itself if you can try it, but I think offering a "lite" or demo version is just better marketing. IAP unlocks for full games just feels a bit sleazy to me.

That being said, if I hadn't already played it on DS and had $10 to throw at another version, I'd gladly give Capcom my money for this game. It deserves it. But money's especially tight for me right now, and a new DoDonPachi is on the way. ;)

shit fuck fuck. Is it just me, or are the assets higher res than ds version?

And this deserves a separate thread later tonight, right? For some reason I feel that this doing well will some how correlate to if capcom will localize AA5 lol.

I would hope they are considering the DS resolution is a step above a microwave display. Yeah, it looks a lot nicer though, they always showed crisp assets for the promo work for the game so I assume they had higher end stuff sitting around

It's just for iPhone, right, or is it for iPad too?

We have decided to release the game as a universal app, instead of a iPad only release. It will be out really soon. In the meantime, please enjoy the artbook.

This is such bizarre logic though. Do XBLA games feel sleazy to you too? Because it's the exact same model.

Free + IAP unlock is a great way to sell a big expensive game like this, I really can't fathom why people are so uptight about it. It's better this than to spend $10 on a gmae to find out you don't like it, surely?

Good news, universal means you get 100% less bitching ITT (just ask Jackson! ha). I'm looking forward to it, I've been waiting for this since you first started posting screens.

Depending on the game one can hex edit the values determining the scores pretty easily after isolating them and then inject new values while running the games re-signed or probably more commonly via jailbreaking. Since Game Center most likely doesn't inherently know what a fake score is they then gets posted to the leaderboards.

There's actually quite a few.

Ravenmark is probably the best of the bunch.
