Didn't know about this. When was this announced?
Nintendogs + cats demo announcement was buried in that recent PR about Nintendo getting a spokesdog for the game. Demo coming this month sometime.

15 fps 15 fps 15 fps 15 fps 30 fps 15 fps 15 fpsWhat unfortunate timing. The demo is releasing the day after I pick up a Vita. :\
I've also been playing MGS3 again on PS3 at 60 fps so this is going to be interesting. I'm genuinely curious to see how the port has turned out, however.
Cool. I recently got a 3DS. What's with the lack of demos? There's only two I think. I was expecting more up there.

NOA needs to release this demo, or any demo, this week.

It doesn't? I swear I saw a video on YouTube someone playing the Japanese demo and saw some option for the CPP. I cant link right now though because I'm on my phone
it better be an updated demo cause the Eurogamer demo was sooooo bad. It put me of this game 100%. Everything about it sucked. Framerate was :-O
Aside from the slideshow that they tried to pass as a framerate, the controls in particular were simply horrifying. I've never seen or played a game that controlled so bad. Not even the shoddiest shovelware had such a poor control implementation.
I know that one shouldn't expect a Kojima game to have working or logical controls, let alone controls that aren't bloated like a constipated Jabba the Hut, but MGS 3Ds standard control scheme fails on so many levels, it is basically unplayable.
Considering this comes out next week in North America (the full game), I have to assume that the demo will come to the US store too.
Right?!
EDIT: Also, I was right: the JP demo does have CPP support.

That's...great. The one first party game I got at launch is the one getting a demo :\Nintendogs + cats demo announcement was buried in that recent PR about Nintendo getting a spokesdog for the game. Demo coming this month sometime.
Considering the fact that edge gave the game a 8/10, I'm pretty sure what you played is in no way shape or form a true representation of the final product.
So far all videos have shown the controls to be the same as what I played. And that means it's simply unplayable.
It boggles my mind how Kojima Productions is able to redefine shitty control implementation that make no sense at all. MGS3D is by far the worst implementation of the touch screen I've ever seeen. It makes playing FPS on IOS devices seem like masterpieces of game control and UI design.
All these idiots had to do was to use a part of the touch screen as an aiming field. That would free up all the face buttons, as well as the d-pad, and they still would've space on the touch screen to have all the options they've allready put on there.
Now it might be that the game is playable with the CCP, but it simply boggles my mind how bad of a control scheme they were able to implement.
For that alone I would rate the game a 5 out of 10 if not lower. Hopefully the final game has a better control setup for the standard 3DS. Relying on the CCP to get acceptable controls is just outright retarded, and really shows the lack of talent and effort put into this version of the game.
Now if the final version actually changed the horrible controls, I'd consider buying it, but I highly doubt it.
MGS2 and 3 are coming to Vita for $40 as well, however, so if you want portability with superior performance you CAN still have it.What's funny is the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is only $40.
Portability is nice, but not really worth it when you can get three games that run better for the same price.

What store am I part of? Last I checked, I only saw the RE demo and Mario/Sonic OlympicsThere's 3. RE: Revelations, Cooking Mama, Crush 3D.

well, if your experience ends up true to the games final form, then I find it hard to fathom why edge would give the game an 8...

It's f*cking MGS3. Even in a drastically lower quality rendition, it's hard not to award a solid score.Edge played the final version; Boris didn't.

As I see it, the game should still be as amazing as it ever has been, but if the framerate is as bad as it was in the e3-GC demo, then it's merely playable at times.
In my time with that demo you could count the frames at times. When you have a framerate around 15 to 5 frames per second...
Maybe they cleaned that up for the final release.

Take note that this game also has gyro controls and photo camo. These are stuff that sets it apart from the HD versions.
Tell me more about this 'Photo Camo'.
I think your camo will mimic the colours from a photo you have taken.

And I would love to be proven wrong. I really do because the controls in the demo I played were inexcusable.
I've yet to play a demo but I'm assuming the game will have alternative control options just like Peace Walker did.
If you've not tried Revelations, it also has a face button aiming option.
Played Peace Walker like that and it was mighty fine. Just saying, it's not exactly a fast paced third person shooter series. Not that this game's control scheme can't suck even if it somewhat resembles that, but that's up to the devs. Gyro aiming should work well too, when you're playing @ home or similar at least and so can move around freely. If they implement it. There are known solutions to these potential issues even without the CPP, if they make (good) use of them or not remains to be seen.I've tried Revelations, allready have 60 hours on that, and I tried the face button aiming... horrendous, borderline unplayable.

After watching some of the Japanese demo footage I'm not sure where all the negativity is coming from. There is some chop during cutscenes, the grass draw-in is closer than on console, some of the textures are blurrier, but otherwise it looks fine to me. Maybe it will look worse in person.
You're in Euroland, so in about 19 minutes.Totally forgot about this. Any idea when the demo will be on the e-shop? Now I want to try it.

These are the latest cut-scenes released by konami. probably 2 weeks old, IIRC.It looks better, in person.
and the frame rate in the demo I've played two days ago at an Italian Nintendo event was good.
But I didn't see any cutscene, so framerate could be bleah! in cutscenes...
