Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 |OT| Got 99 Problems, But Sales Ain't One.

First Roll:

AK47 w/stability & ACOG
Akimbo Magnum
Frag, EMP, & Martyrdom
Blind Eye
Blast Shield
Stalker

I might actually try that out the next time I play.

Second Roll:

Dragunov w/HBS & Variable Scope

nope

Gold dragunov.

It's really not a bad gun. Just try it. Challenge yourself.

Anybody here experienced the MK14 getting jammed?

Like 10% of the time I'm experiencing this. Might be a bug?

This happens when you're up close and you're pressing really fast right? I think it's just you pressing faster than the max speed. Just like when you're using a USAS or striker.

So, are they insisting on keeping Demolition an unplayable piece of shit mode now, or what? The new spawns are such a fucking joke, I might have to dump MW3 and go back to BO and MW2. :(

Almost gold dragunov. (Level 28 or something.)

It really is the worst game in the CoD series, it always is.

I'm actually thinking of buying a copy of PS3 Black Ops and getting my CoD MP fix there. I mean, MW3 is decent but BO is better.

Awesome. That's how I roll with my tank class. So satisfying, and especially useful when I get dragged into a match late in progress where stealth bomb left and right. I wish I could share my shelter with my team mate.

It's even more useful in domination. Pretty cool when you save a group of teammates capping a flag. Wish there was a quick way to tell teammates to huddle around the trophy system instead of scatter like cockroaches though. It would be nice if it showed on the radar map.

By the way, kinda disappointed that theater mode doesn't render exactly what you film. The predator shot had smoke coming into the screen, and the trophy system showed fragments on the ground, neither showed up on the youtube clip. Oh well.

Not sure why, but for some reason people just love firing bullets at shield carriers. Was playing on Domination with a buddy. He was carrying a shield while I was just running my normal class. We were rolling around the map capping flags and the enemy would almost always try to fire at him instead of me so I was just racking up easy kills and points. Hit around 50 kills with 4 or 5 caps for 4 rounds until we both called it quits for the night.

General question here, is this game as a whole less rage inducing than say MW2? This was the first COD game that I didn't hop into day one but I'm thinking of getting it now. I traded in my copy of BF3 since they refused to fix the input lag on PS3.

to me its about the same level of Rage.

I'd say less for me, but the major difference is back in MW2 days I lone wolfed it all the time or maybe once in awhile teaming up with a couple friends. Now I almost exclusively play with my Over 30 clan and even a bad night is fun because I'm hanging out with other guys and just don't stress as much about the game itself.

I do agree that there are different things that bug me as well in MW3 vs MW2. In MW2 it was often about the actual gameplay mechanics themselves. OMA noob tubers, Commando knifers and a lot of boosters. In MW3, for the most part I just get frustrated that it takes a long time to find games when I'm in a party of 6 for some dumb reason and also on the the PS3, I can't just go and join a party, I need to be invited.

I usually only pull host when I play solo on the rare occasions now and it's just the most frustrating thing in any of the games. It goes so far overboard with the lag compensation. I'd kick everyone of the development team in the nuts on whoever came up with that brilliant idea.

Honestly to me this doesn't seem like such a bad trade off. Commando knifers in MW2 was probably one of the most irritating things.

Oh, definitely gonna jump into the MW3 Steam free weekend. Love playing these games with KB/M.

I think you will definitely find it overall less frustrating then MW2 as far as game mechanics go, less abusable cheap tactics like Commando, OMA/DC/Launchers, etc. What you have to take in return this time is that:

1. Way more moments of "fuck, I know I shot him first, yet I'm the one who died." Then you watch killcam and it's like you never even fired your gun. (This is the biggest one)

2. DLC support is still one month behind 360 players. Sometimes, certain updates may take longer to arrive compared to 360.

I recommend joining Elite (it's free) and getting on the PS3 GAF clan to have some potential teammates if your normal gaming friends aren't available. Less overall frustration. :)

Thanks for your points you brought up. I remember point number one happening in Black Ops, lol. The DLC coming a month later than 360 doesn't really bother me. I have a couple of people on my friends list playing this so I shouldn't have a problem finding people to play with.

I'm willing to put up with some lag compensation over OMA/Commando knifers any day. Not that lag compensation is a blessing though.

You will still have to deal with quick scopers, unfortunately. But other than that, the worst in MW3 is relatively tame. Some imbalance in the weapons, but that's to be expected to some extent.

I hardly ever notice quickscopers. If I do, they're terrible and go negative constantly.

I didn't used to see them as much, but lately I've noticed a lot more. Could be in part because I've drastically changed my playstyle. I used to use an AR at medium to long range, but I recently switched to close quarters combat with the PP90M1 (and I suddenly got a lot better at the game). Up close it's hard to not notice when a guy is quick scoping.

I pretty much play that way, or play close-range with ARs. Sometimes I play long-distance. Depends.

Through my 10 prestiges and all the time after, I think I've been killed by one ~10 times.

BTW, MW3 is $40 at Best Buy/Amazon!

I think I'm convinced enough. Decided to pull the trigger and get the game. Used credit I had for BF3 plus an extra three bucks and change. Super saver shipping for me since I'm broke, lol :/

*edit* @ Strider- Must be a sale this week. Got it at Amazon!

Quickscopers aren't the big of a deal in this game (mainly due to the fact that quickscopers have to sacrifice assassin for quickdraw).

The real problem is that unlike in CoD4, snipers don't have much of a close range disadvantage because they can choose a machine pistol w/akimbo or extended mags.

Basically this. I rarely ever get QS but I run into a lot of wookies prone in corners with akimbo FMGs which is way more annoying

What's ironic is that unlike noob tubers, quick scopers think they have some skills doing so.

I wish I could say the same for me. Basically whenever a sniper has enough time to get a shot off against me, most of the time they hit, regardless of range. Anybody I see sniping now can at least pull off their average k/d, and after actually trying to snipe a few time I can confidently say it's easier than it's ever been.

I've always felt that MW3 had more aim assist than MW2 ( probably to compensate for the lower overall damage) so maybe that's why; I can feel a difference when going from MW2 to MW3 at least, but I have no way to prove it so I didn't bother to bring it up until now lol.

This! I remember saying this a long time ago about the "quick scoping", I'm with you on this one lol.

I just don't find that quickscopers are as much of a problem as they were in MW2. And even in MW2 the only reason it wasn't more rampant was because ARs were laser guns in that game.

in fact the only stage in MW3 that makes me pissed off about snipers ever is mission. Every other map gives you lots of ways to counter the snipers, such most sniper spots being in rooms small enough for a well timed grenade or there being multiple cqc paths to take to force the engagement into being CQC.

Yeah, Auto-aim here in MW3 is toned down or almost non existent. Unlike in MW2 where your freaking aim will follow the enemy who passed by you. lol
