Seems weird to announced Ultimate in Mayonaka and not announced Golden yet.
Virtually no translation required for P4U. Compare that to a huge chunk of the P4 script needed translating (all the scenes with Marie and any new content) and then getting the voice actors back to record the new lines, also P4U is due to release first in Japan anyway.

It would be much, much easier to localize a fighter than an RPG.

It's also much easier to localize a game you've localized most of the content for before :)

Depending on the story mode, there might be an equal amount of work. Who knows.

It would be weird if Atlus couldn't get the stuff they need to make the translation happen pre-release (getting script and booking actors), which would lead to a delayed, but not exceedingly so, release.

They better not botch the dubbing. (Guess I saved $20 on importing it... I was seriously saving up for it.)

Hopefully this doesn't count as port-begging... but I'm hoping they'll release both as a bundle for PS3/360, and release Golden on its own on Vita too. Never gonna happen though. :lol

Ultimate will probably be easier to localise, so it's not that surprising. All they need to do is add some English VA clips, Find/Replace 'Yu' with 'Charlie', and ship it.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.

It's "Seta." ;)

Huh, now that I think about it they usually don't announce way ahead of Japanese release unless it's at a major event (E3) or release is near simultaneous, if not ahead in America. Could we be seeing this roughly at the same time as Japan?

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they just ripped a bunch of battle quotes from P4 and called it a day. If "Aha! Is this our chance?" doesn't make the cut I'll be offended.

I would wish it was P4 Golden, even if Japanese release date is still unknown. Don't really care for the fighter, even if I love both P4 and Arc System Works.

i hope they rename the game to say... Persona 4: The Midnight Arena

"The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena" is quite the mouthful

since its P4U, I wonder what the US title would be

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena

lol

edit: looks like I was beaten to it

So I've never followed the news about P4 Arena. What system is it?

Edit: Okay, both consoles. I'm hoping for a Vira version to go with P4 Golden.
