This series just hasn't had enough exposure. Such a terrific story and setting. The apostles themselves would make interesting boss fights. I think if the new films take off we could see some games next gen.

Imagine that in 1080p awesomeness with locked 60 fps with a combat system designed by Kamiya.

I'd love for scope to get dialed back in favor of interactivity and detail. I could play a game set in a 3 bedroom house if it were well conceived.

My answer is THIS WORLD.

Both have excellent ideas to draw from, I'm just not sure any game developer would have the balls to challenge capitalism and fascism to such an extreme quite like Pasolini did. Games and philosophy don't often go well together.

A third person/tactical shooter ala the old Rainbow Six/Ghost Recon games set in the Stargate universe where you control SG1 would be high on my list. I don't want to be some random jaffa/marine, the appeal is in the established teams. The MMO never made sense to me for that reason. Have adventure/puzzle minigames involving alien tech or an alien language that Sam and Daniel have to solve respectively. Plenty of lore to work with from the past 15 or so years.

A space sim in the reimagined BSG universe would also hit all the right notes.

With the exception of the MMO, there's already been about 2 or 3 stargate games, and only one that was on the SNES was released. The others were cancelled.

The Innistrad arc in Magic the Gathering.

I wonder if some sort of Magic action game could be made where you're a Planeswalker. That combat seems like it must be pretty action packed in my head when I actually take a second and picture all the craziness that happens during a game.

Will anyone cop to reading the Magic books? How does that describe Planeswalker fights?

I'd love another Chibi Robo game. Such a good first game, and a great concept.

I LOVE THIS GAME.

I would love more SMALL games. I enjoy the Way of the Samurai games for a similar reason. Small scale, lots of variation. They're very flawed but they work on a good base.

You know, after seeing Arrietty, I was thinking the same thing. Throughout much of the movie, I thought that I was watching someone play a beautiful platforming game.

Parallax

best seen in the classic "Shadow of the Beast"
I really want a regular show beat em up in the same veins as scott pilgrims and river city ransom. Seeing as how theres a boss character in just about every episode, theres plenty of options.

And simply because im shocked it hasnt been done yet. A mmo based in the .hack world.

Has anyone here ever read the Abhorsen / Old Kingdom series of books by Garth Nix?

I think that world would be fucking amazing as a video game. You'd definitely have something to do with the Abhorsen and be able to use the bells. Ah fuck, I'm getting really excited just thinking about that.

You could probably say that of ANY Studio Ghibli film.
This, and Princess Mononoke. So freaking apt for this.

And dear god this. Dear god this; would be so good if it was in a story chronicles way. Actually, I don't even give a fuck, give me Gutt's past as the game and the rest as DLC. I'll pay for it all. Oh, and have From make the combat. That is all.

American Gods could make a good action adventure game. The idea of you being in the middle of a war between old and new gods would be something really nice if the right developers got their hands on it. It could have some of the investigation elements of LA Noir with a nice mix of creative action when facing off against certain gods, or even have some trippy elements when entering their "realm" or something of that nature.

Also I would kill for a GOOD Animorphs game. My childhood screams for one and that old game sucked.

Stargate, Tactical FPS/TPS. Set 5 years after Stargate Universe, New set of gates that take you further than ever before. Add in cameo's with SG1,SGA and SGU characters

Star Trek, Mass Effect style ground combat and rpg system with space battles like star trek online, After TNG era. Play as a elite branch of Starfleet who have to prevent a war across all 4 quadrants.

Spartacus, Arena Brawler for the first half of the game, God of war style action game for the other half.

Supernatural, Bro-op Alan Wake.

Star Wars, Military FPS (republic commando 2)

Hence specifying SG1. Games that aren't released or are based on the movie don't count.

I would love to see a true Blade Runner game in a next gen engine that really nails the atmosphere and does justice to the noire style detective work and action scenes.

Oh yes, yes, and yes.

Is this the Japanese cyber-punk manga (Blame!) or something else entirely?

Also, suggestions made so far that I would purchase on day 1:

  • Arriety (or any Studio Ghibli film)
  • Trigun
  • Adventure Time

As for my suggestions:

I know there was that one meh PSX shooter for it. But I want something that's somewhat MGS-ish. A sci-fi/cyberpunk action/stealth/thriller (which would fit perfectly with the Section 9 set-up) with a head-spinning story that delves into philosophy, cyberethics, etc.

adventuretimekaboomcoverbig.jpg

So so much potential...open world action RPG....give me KH gameplay in Fallout open world

I'm dying for a AAA dev to tackle an open world Adventure Time action/platformer. The world is PERFECT for a really big videogame. I'd love for a team like Insomniac to get a crack at it.

Porco Rosso would make an incredible game. Crimson Skies + Beyond Good and Evil + Stranger's Wrath + cell shading.

I wish someone would use Fritz Lang style expressionism in a game too, would work perfectly as a counter-point to all the 'realistic' stuff around.

Don't think I saw this but this... would be awesome.

I don't know what the gameplay would be like but I just want to walk around and interact with that world. Maybe an open world adventure game?

Alan Moore's TOP 10 series.

Procedural cop drama set in a city where absolutely everybody has a superpower, Gods frequent their own bars downtown, alien-thought-entities drive cabs, etc.

Any genre that's non-action related. The setting would be perfect for a Planescape: Torment type of verbal, scenario-heavy RPG. Or perhaps a lovingly drawn point-and-clicker. Anything which focuses on crafting interesting situations rather than superhero flight combat and combo-meter QTEs.

How about a James Bond game that plays like Deus Ex. Multiple routes, gadgets, rating on each mission which designates the funds you have available for future outings and your choice of over 50 suits.

And also since I just watched it recently, Hobo with a Shotgun. An FPS where you clean the streets of the Drake's hooligans with your trusty shotgun.

I could get down with a Mass Effect/KOTOR style RPG set in the Riddick universe. I really enjoyed Chronicles of Riddick and think the universe is pretty decent. Butcher Bay was quality of course, but I'd really like to see the other planets featured in the film (Helion Prime, Hoth (;)), Crematoria, Furia, wherever the elementals were from, more info on Underverse and the Necromongers, the Grand Marshall etc etc) fleshed out a bit more and some of the back story explained.

210110-the_chronicles_of_riddick_original_large.jpg

As for the Dark Tower proponents, yes to a point but it would have to be quite guided along the lines of Heavy Rain (without the branching story) and be chock full of mini games if you were to do the whole series (and that bloody ending, Jesus, I could have killed someone). Wizard and Glass would make a nice standalone western style game though I think.

Wizard_and_Glass6.jpg

Avatar- The Last Airbender. I've only watched random pieces from this show, but what I've seen was quite good. Some episode had temples hanging down a cliff like stalactites and some other one huge library hidden in desert sand. And I immediately go like ,,Why doesn't anyone make some adventure game like this, why doesn't Zelda ever try anything in that direction, i want to PLAY that''. :(

Michael Moorcocks Eternal Champion multiverse.

How about Elric, an albino prince who serves a god of chaos and wages war against his own peoples kingdom, a guy who ultimately brings about the death (and rebirth?) of all existence?
elric-of-melnibone.jpg

Or Hawkmoon, who comes from a rather twisted take on a post-apocalypse Earth?
826-thumb100.jpg

Or Jerry Cornelius, a character that's just straight-up nuts?
jerry-cornelius.jpg

The beauty of the Eternal Champion series is these three characters, and others, can all exist within the same stories and worlds. Swords, sorcery, dragons, and hidden underground worlds all within the backdrop of early/mid WW2? That's one of many stories to pull from.

Alas, any film/television versions of most of the Moorcock stuff is continually in development hell, so I don't foresee a modern game happening anytime soon.

Steelpushing/Ironpulling around the world Spider-Man style with the other Allomatic powers at your disposal would be awesome. I would love to see the visual direction someone talented would create for Luthadel

Ah, so close. Clearly you actually meant:

I'd love to see some games of the modern exploitation Japanese movies Machine Girl, Tokyo Gore Police, Robo Geisha, Frankenstein Girl vs Vampire Girl. They would make for good budget brawlers or hack n slash sorts of games that I love so much.

Dune has those RTS games, although they have not aged well

Hey, Emperor: Battle for Dune is an AWESOME game. No shit talkin'!

My wish would be for the Dark Heresy/Inquisitor stuff in the Warhammer 40k universe. We already have plenty of grimdark warfare with SPEESH MAHREENS (primarily RTS and now an action game), but to have a dark, plot-heavy RPG based around Inquisitors? That would quite possibly be my dream game, if done correctly.

I haven't actually read Alloy of Law yet, although part of why I proposed Mistborn was because I liked the idea of seeing Luthadel during the period of the original trilogy. Is AoL good?
