So... so.. just no. Seriously. Yes, opinions are great and we all have them. But you are terribly wrong as far as the Vita is concerned.

eh? the OS is functional but aesthetically it's an abortion. XMB at least /looked/ good.

I'm not asking for XMB on VITA. it wouldn't ~work~ for one but rather something as nice as XMB but optimised for touch.

did the early learning centre design VITA OS

US PSN Demos this week:

PS Vita Demos

Touch My Katamari
Dynasty Warriors Next
ModNation Racers: Road Trip
Reality Fighters

Awesome. I'd love to try out Katamari and DW.
I was really hoping Sega would offer a VT4 demo, though.

Edit: No Gravity Daze :(

I've brought this up before but why on earth does XMB get the love it does? It wasn't bad when it first hit on PSX (though clunky and slow) but right now it's pretty crap IMO. Especially now i can't frigging group games on the PS3 and i have one huge long list i can't do shit with.

It's nice looking so it looks good in the living room but that's where it basically ends.

The Vita OS is mainly bad looking due to the bubbles but it's at least fast and reactive. I like what it does - way more than XMB.

And no one can speak to or message me if they don't see me online. :(

That'll be fixed, while Swapnote will be the sole communication platform on the 3DS.

In other news, I'm probably going to buy a Vita tomorrow unless they are out of stock everywhere, which according to many stores websites they aren't.

Does anyone else have a problem with their internet connection? When I'm using the browser or netflix or something that uses an internet connection, it works fine for a little bit, then it just stops. The wifi icon is still there in the upper left, but nothing happens. Netflix just stops the video and spins. In the internet browser, everything thing works for a bit, then links don't go anywhere and entering a new url does nothing.

I can then go into the wifi settings and disconnect/reconnect and everything works fine for a few more minutes before it happens again. this happens even when the system doesn't go to sleep.

Bum router, or bum vita? I have a ton of other devices on the network with no issues.

I've brought this before, but I never got a straight answer: am I the only one with a screen so sensitive it registers touch inputs before contact? It's starting to scare/annoy me.

I hope it's not specific to my device or caused by the protector or something lol.

You can actually group content on the PS3, but how you do it is slow and counterintuitive.

I want folders, that's about it. I don't see the need for 10 different screens. I want 3 folders: PS Vita games, PSP Games, Apps. one page, no clutter.

I really like the os, the aesthetics especially, I was a fan of the bubbles since day one, but there is no denying it does need tweaking.

One thing I'd like is the ability to install software in the background, just have a ring around the bubble that acts as an installation progress bar, or have the bubble greyed out and fill-up as it installs.

And as many people have mentioned folders would be quite handy rather than having to scroll through of tons of panels.

folders should be easy they can just make smaller bubbles sorround the bigger ones

I like this idea, but not sure how it would be implement though.

Yeah, it's the same with mine. I can hover my finger over the screen and it's registers contact.

Just noticed I've never seen a friend notification pop up since I've had this thing...I have a few Vita friends too. Is there a setting that I need to turn on for that?

Thought this was neat - was in a party chatting with my bro while playing Hot Shots, and I get a call. Leave the Vita, talk to someone for about 15 min, come back and my VITA is in sleep mode. Put on my headphones: I was still in party chat.

My Vita went to sleep mode while I was in a party and I continued to be able to talk even while the device was in sleep mode.

First capacitive display device?

My phone does it as well. Capacitive displays can register a touch by just getting extremely close to the screen because because the screen and humans are conductors, and you can conduct electricity while just being very close to the object, and not touching it. Kinda like static electricity.

Edit:

Beaten like a red-headed step whore child.

I have a ton of awesome games and the one I'm most addicted to is Hustle Kings.

How nuts is that?

not weird at all. I bought Hustle Kings on PS3 because I have fond memories playing backstreet billiard on PS1 but I never really play HK on my PS3. but now on vita, it's so perfect to play HK everywhere, just before bed, break at work, etc.

this is one reason why I'm so hyped for Vita. PSN downloadable game. they're so much better served as handheld game than playing at home on big tv. I hope Critter Crunch and MnM Clash of Heroes make it to Vita PSN.

Happens to me too, but only every so often. Usually it's while I'm trying to enter my PSN password. =/

Ground yourself.

So the conensus is that Ys 7 isnt as good as Ys: Oath of Felghana? Never played a Ys before so was wonderin.

Just different. Personally I would start with Oath as I consider it to be a perfect game (seriously), but Ys 7 is still a very good game. Oath is the kind of game you will beat in a few days and then go right back and try at another difficulty. It's short and incredibly sweet. Ys 7 is much longer.

Well, good place to start in that case. Thanks!

Yeah and that's why 3DS' sleep mode is atrocious.
You realize you can turn it on/off instantly right?
At home it's always on, my Vita and 3DS are always charging in their docks when not in use.
You make it sound good, but that's extremely bad.
How is that bad at all?
Especially if you have the option to be online, or offline.
It's bad when people don't see my online and don't know they can send me an invite to a game.

Oath in Felghana is my favorite Ys game.
Ys 7 definitely should be played, though, but if you can get only one, go with OiF.

Well, assuming I were to get both, should I start with 7 then move to Felghana? Cuz I can get both. Gaf seems to be raving about it, which is odd as I've never heard of the series in my life at all.

Same problem here. Typing using the onscreen keyboard sometimes becomes a chore because of some accidental keypresses which I don't even do (screen somehow magically registers a touch when my finger hovers over it)
