GAF, please help me decide!

I live in europe and have a EU PSN account I've been using for years. I also have a US PSN account that I usually use to buy some stuff due to european delays.

As you know, this arrangement no longer works well with the Vita. So I'm contemplating switching to my US account permanently, for trophies as well.

I've come up with some arguments for and against on both accounts:

US account:
+ Much cheaper games (Trails in the Skies for 19.99$ vs 54$ in EU store)
+ The PSN store seems better organized
+ 60hz PS1 and PS2 games
+ Some games only available on US PSN
+ Bigger chance of getting obscure japanese games due to not having to localize for a bunch of languages that I don't speak.
- Some games have region locked multiplayer
- Might suddenly become difficult to obtain PSN cards via email
- I have 3 trophies on this account

EU account:
+ I have 1000 trophies, including 9 platinum
+ A few games only available on EU PSN
+ Currently seems like EU is getting more Vita content at the moment(?)
- Delays due to localization, licensing issues, prices

I realize this will seem like a stupid question after writing that list. But I really enjoy my trophies! So I would be really thankful if any of you could chime in and help me decide :)

I just stuck to my own region, far more convenient just having 1 account housing all my downloads.

Especially with onine passes and DLC.
If you're going buying physical, then remember, every sony published online game will have an online pass. so thats gonna be a major pain in the ass.

Plus. Trophies. which are important to me too; 18 platinums so far. ;)

There were 5 people NEAR me on launch day. I checked tonight and it's 35

Mine's been random. In downtown Chicago I got 107 hits (and this was within .4 miles of me). Where I live in the suburbs and riding the train I get about 40+ hits (within 2 miles of me) and it's steadily rising.

Mine hasn't left the house yet. I'm kind of impressed lol

No, no, no. This is what I'm talking about.

Those three games are way fucking over priced. And when you consider how cheap the HD collections on the PS3 go for it's insulting.

I understand but I'm not talking price here...I bought these games long ago so I have no fucking clue how much they sell for on the Store now. He asked what games for the PSP are good and I'm telling him. He might be a billionaire who knows...

How can I figure out what is taking up so much space on my Vita? Apparently I only have 800mb free of my 4gb card... but I haven't downloaded any PSN/PSP games. WTF?

Wario64

works for Gamestop (lol)
What's Twitter picture service ?

Uses twitter.com instead of letting you choose twitpic/yfrog/lockerz/etc.

Also would be neat if I could tie my bit.ly account. I'm being really picky though, most people wont care

And Near...I had maybe 15 people on first night? Now it's 214.

I question its accuracy though. I used it at 3 in the morning yesterday, and then again at 4 hours later and it found 12 more people. How the hell did it find new people in that early in the day?

Got my copy of Shinobido 2 today. I did play it for a little bit, completing some training and 4 or 5 missions and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The graphics looked clean and nice (especially during the cutscenes) and doing ninja stuff was pretty fun.
Skimming a couple of posts about it I was scared I had actually purchased a dud, but it seems I didn't, at least not as far as I'm concerned anyways (though the game could still become disappointing later on).

Near doesn't work at all for me. A buddy and I tried it with our vitas while standing right next to each other even.

Everytime it scans, it adds a new entry in out and about. You have to click the newest one. It took me like 3 days to get that lol

Well, I just accidentally won an ebay auction for a wifi Vita, so I guess I'm in. Can't wait for Ridge Racer with all the DLC (yes, I know).

What things do you have on it?

Nothing? I've played physical copies of Uncharted and Lumines, and I downloaded the Netflix and LiveTweet apps. And 8 jpeg files for backgrounds.

That's it. I think? Where is the utility that lets me see what is on the memory card?

EDIT: Wow, so PSA everyone: even if you delete something from your springboard with a tap and hold, the data is STILL on your Vita until you pull up the downloads button and click the trashcan in the top left corner. I had "deleted" the Unit 13 demo but it was still on my Vita until I cleared the data. Wowowow that is fucking stupid.

Only thing I found it sorely needs is a lock-on.

Wow. Seriously?? Did not know

Edit: Actually tried this and it didn't make a difference in space

I swear you posted this exact same thing a few days ago...

Well it's important information if true. I just bought a 32gb class 10 card for 12 pounds. If sony are honestly saying that I have to pay 5 pound more for a card that is 8 times smaller and runs at half the speed, they can seriously go fuck themselves.

I'm not subidising their security measures. I always assumed the high prices was as much performance related as security related.

I haven't put my order in yet and I won't until I get clarification on this.

Just don't buy the system then.

You mean the notifications? That's only a few hundred mb of space

RPGs aren't usually my kind of thing though so not sure i'd enjoy it :p

I don't quite think it's an RPG lol, check out some videos on YouTube.

Wrong, the trashcan on the downloads/notifications page is just to get rid of the notifications.

If you already decided not to buy, why are you on this thread?

This is the Vita's western launch thread btw.

Because I had decided to buy and have just received information, via this very same thread, that has made me reconsider my imminent purchase until I have received clarification that the information is false. If it is not, I will not purchase the device.

Is that ok with you? For fucks sake.

So I got VT4 from Amazon today, finally, and I think I am officially in love with the Vita. Virtua Tennis translates so well to the Vita and the graphics and animations are top notch. Matches are quick and fun which makes on the go gaming or squeezing in a quick game on break or before work very easy.

And the options! Man there is so much to do in this game. There is the World Tour of course which I haven't even started yet, online play, 10 different mini games if you include the ship, there is some AR stuff, you can create and customize your own character using a photo of yourself then take it through the World Tour and online and progess the character, and the VR Tennis mode is a neat little mode to try out and show friends. Not to mention in an hour and a half I got 8 trophies and the game doesn't seem that hard to platinum so I am definitely going to try and get my first platinum with this game.

This is a great game that looks and runs amazingly well on the Vita, and if you are a fan of Tennis games and Virtua Tennis in particular then you owe to yourself to get this game. If not now then when it goes on sale.

PS. I laughed out loud during the mode where you rescue the chicks and return them to the Hens when snakes started to crawl around the court and chased my line of chicks. I was like NO WAY!!!

You make a great point. I'm going to stick to digital on my Vita, but PS3 is a different story. It would very much be a pain in the ass to have to import all my PS3 games because of DLC and online passes and such.

Ok, I think I'll stick with my EU account for now. Guess I'll just have to buy fewer games. Might not be so bad since I already really have too many. Thanks to everyone who chimed in!

Well, I just downloaded the demo for Rayman Origins... holy fucking shit, my eyes. It is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. That game is gorgeous, made only more gorgeous thanks to the Vita's screen.

Wow.

Sony underpriced the console but overpriced the memory cards to recoop the costs.

I understand that, and don't mind buying into that, if the cards themselves are at least high performance. If they are not and it is a
strictly profit/security motive then I'm not buying. I'm not trying to shit up the thread but I already had enough reservations and this is serious enough for me to draw a line in the sand.

Mutant Blobs is absolutely fantastic. Anyone having trouble choosing a game off PSN, look no further.

Also, my Gravity Daze import should be coming in the next 5 days, screw waiting until June.

I just tried it on my system and it deleted all the data on 3 demos. I don't know why yours didn't.

No one gives a shit if you post saying you're not going to get a Vita.

So gaf, I'm going to head out and buy a bigger memory card in a few minutes. Do I need to transfer the saves(?) to the new card? I'm not sure if I can just plug it in and go about my business without transferring any data.

You should backup your card to your PC or PS3 and then copy that over to your new card.

Urgh. this place is really starting to get on my nerves. I'm done.

I understand the frustration but it is what it is. You think the expanded 360 HD was really worth over a $100 bucks when you could get something double that size and quality for half the price? I can tell you this though I was annoyed as hell when I had to throw down extra cash for a card cause the system wouldn't work without it but in the days and week since it hasn't crossed my mind once. The system is just so dang fantastic in every other area. Just grab a $5 dollar 4GB card they are super cheap on ebay right now.

Wow.

Buy it! Best platformer I have played in years and if you think the demo looks good you haven't seen anything.

Buy it! It's easily one of the top launch games and the definitive version IMO.

Yeah, I'm about too... this game is absolutely amazing. I downloaded the demo on the PS3, but just never got around to playing it.

So, I went and bought an 8GB memory card and downloaded the demo on the Vita... and yeah, this game is fucking stunning.
