Probably not their history
What do you mean? America's history is the only history, silly you!
Probably not their history
Like others here, I am not a fan of the hooded character design. At all. Setting sounds interesting and they can really do some fun stuff with it but the character needs a redesign.
Not really complaining about the location but the general worry about the founding fathers, etc. I'm assuming but I mean, this is a series where you have muslims doing shady things everywhere and you beat the shit out of the pope, between other things, so I don't see why someone who's not from the US would get distressed about these particular details. I can't see how this announcement makes the series riskier than it ever was.I doubt the Americans are the ones complaining about the setting, though maybe I'm wrong. Would love to see some American responses.
I would have honestly been pretty excited for this if it wasn't a yearly release game.

I, for one, am eagerly hoping they announce the protagonist is also a male model
Well if he can be of Syrian, Italian and now natve American descent why can't he be Indian/Chinese as well?
Also why can't his ancestor be a European in Colonial India? They can let the follow-up be in England or something.
As disappointed as I am in the choice for the historical setting, I think I'm more disappointed it appears it's another male lead. Female assassin would have been so much more bad-ass.
Its not that there's no buildings. Its that classic European architecture is infinitely more beautiful and interesting than America's.People don't know their history at all. No buildings? Do you honestly think America in the late 18th century looked like this?
New York was particularly well-developed by the time of the Revolutionary War.
Last pic represents 1797, roughly 14 years after the end of the war. New York underwent more development post-war, but that gives you an idea.
Second pic shows Washington returning to New York City after the British were kicked out. Spoilers
NYC should make for the perfect city to play around with in AC3 with since it had plenty of urban density and was occupied by the Brits for almost the entire war.
It would offer the interesting opportunity to seduce a target before killing it. Though I can't imagine how you'd pull that of gameplaywise without making it look completley ridiculous and childish.Impossible due to the lore, IIRC
Desmond can only replay memories of male ancestors until they have their first child.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
AC reboot with a girl in modern times in the animus could well mix things up.
+1 for sexy assassin chick
Funny thing about GWIsn't he a Templar?
The hood is important design wise to the entire Assassins Creed franchise so they can change the costume for the different time periods, while having a link between each time period.
Also wouldn't suprise me at all if the name of protagonist in this one is something like Samuel from the tribe of Soaring Eagle, or Sam Eagle for short, where his father is a native American and his mother is a settler.
I just thought about something. Remember in the movie The Patriot whenI could see something like that happening in Assassin's Creed III, regarding the methods used in assassinating people.the British soldiers were ambushed in a forest?
They might as well name him John Bear Cock the rate they are going...
Can't be worse than what Prey did.
TOMMY HAWK
Far from it my friend I'm a Cuban-Spanish gent.Edit: Are you sure you're not a muslim assassin? or are you trying to hide something? ;(
Ok, people. Imagine if we get Benjamin Franklin or Paul Revere as the new tinkerer who makes gadgets for you?

He definitely at least had an Apple of Eden that was passed down to other presidents.
It certainly is one of the most important aspects. The architecture is not the only important thing in AC you know.

Europe can't have the Olympics and assassins creed. Stop being so greedy, that's why America was founded after all, you and all yer taxes.
Don't tread on me
no taxation without representation
Old shtickFirst iteration of the modern stun Baton incoming. God, you people have no idea how embarrassing this will all be...
It certainly is one of the most important aspects.
Nah. They'll stand rank and file, miss with their musket, then have to whip out a cartridge and ramrod and take half a minute to reload.More guns will hopefully mean that guards are a little more formidable than in previous entries.
Impossible due to the lore, IIRC

At least we'll have cannons. XD

The problem I have with America is it's in every game. The most interesting aspect of AC is the unique settings. There were no games that were set in the Holy Land or Italy but are shit loads of games set in America.
In fact it's not even games but movies that make the setting seem like I've already seen most of what could be interesting.
Not been a fan of AC since they started adding guns and bombs anyway.

Yeah, something like that (I had to google Lawerence of Arabia and still didn't get all of it, I'm historically illiterate lol).Playing as a Brit in Colonial India would put you on the wrong side of the conflict, unless you're suggesting some sort of Lawrence of Arabia situation.
Personally, I think the American Revolution is a wonderful time period. It's one part of American history every American should be truly proud of. Not to mention that American history is fucking fascinating.
