the price seems a bit high for the regular edition. Is that just NCSX? Did cave up the price? Or has the exchange rate gotten even worse?

I'm sort of surprised the regular edition and the limited edition are so close in price.

NCSX tax. Play-Asia will probably offer it for at least $10 less, which is ultimately lost on shipping charges.

My order for the limited edition is in - it'll match up nicely with my PS2 limited edition. :3

Thanks for pointing the order links out!

I emailed them to ask if it was region-free. they said they'll contact me once they know for sure from Cave.

Honestly, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I see.. I usually just order from P-A or videogameimports anyways - even though vgi is very steep the customer service is always top notch.

might try out NCSX for once.

NCSX CS is awesome as well

Definitely agreed - they respond to emails fast as hell and always do their best to keep their customers updated on things they might be interested in, completely unsolicited. For the Cave stuff especially they make sure to know how much of their stock has the first-print bonus, and I've heard they will inform a customer if for some reason they ran out and give them the option to back out of the order penalty free - hasn't been a problem here since they've never failed to deliver all the bonuses to me in some 10 years of ordering stuff from them.

Finally bit the bullet and imported a xbox with ketsui, akai katana, mushi futari 1.5, ddp blex, ddp dfk bl and then I'll pick up RSG, Ikaruga and Guwange via XBLA. Summer break after school is done is going to be great \o/

I never used EMS with AmiAmi due to the taxes. I will pay 100% (yes, 100%) taxes if I use EMS or other carrier, while I pay zero taxes using snail mail (SAL).

So I always have to wait 4-6 weeks to get my games, that is alright. (I am still waiting for my Onechambara).

7140 yen is $88, and that's not even accounting for currency exchange fees and international shipping. I doubt the USD will get much stronger by the game's release date.

but the 7140 yen is the MRSP of the game, and no Japanese store charges you the MRSP, it is always 10-15% off. Considering that stores also get the game cheaper in lots, the final price for import stores should not be as high (no more than US$ 70). So that is a huge surcharge.

The NCSX argument always seems to come up.

A little more but they always get their stock and ship with crazy-nice packaging.

I'm going to order a second mushi futari stick for the release of the new game on the 24th...putting all seimitsu buttons in it!!

Oh dear, I hope that doesn't happen. I've never had an issue like that before.

The moment Mushihimesama HD is confirmed to be region-free I'm buying two copies and my wallet is going to be upset for having done so. There's no discussion, really, that's the only thing that could happen at that point.

yea, and I checked that if I order from AmiAmi with EMS, prices with NCS are comparable. NCS doesn't really mark it up as high as people think. They do need to make money as an importer.

That is Brazil (I think), they are notorious for taxes on imports.

Yep. I live in Brazil.

We have a 60% tax fee on all imports. Plus some states have additional taxes up to 20% (my state does not charge them for imports, but the state UPS and other carriers are located charge them, so I have to pay if I choose their services) plust additional fees from transport/storage that the companies usually charge. They sum up around 95% of the price of the item including original postage (tax is over the postage).

The taxation over normal mail is by sampling, not all packages are scanned/verified. For small packages like games they never bother to check. That is why I choose normal mail.

A courier like UPS has special agreements with Brazilian aduana to speed up delivery (so they can make the 48h target delivery). Using this agreement, they have to collect and pay the taxes by themselves. So they calculate and charge the customer the taxes. The taxes are already paied by them at the time you receive the package, that comes with an invoice for you to pay to the carrier. Failure to pay this invoice is a huge mistake and subject to legal actions.

Edited: for anyone in US NCSX seems to be a nice choise, considering time to delivery the goods and price.

DoDonPachi Maximum is confirmed now as the next week Windows Phone release (March 7th) for US$ 4.99.

how do I slip unnoticed out of a gloryhole booth?
God damn it! Again with the shitty photoshops. I'd almost prefer a complete botch like WarTech to these little edits that ruin the beautiful original art works.

gotta get into printing your own covers bro. not that much of a hassle/expense and you end up looking slick as fuck to your favorite lady.

I find the prospects of "region free" unlikely right now. With Rising Star Games expanding to the US, and seeming to have interest in all of Cave's major titles, I bet Cave region locks everything from here on. Then they have something to strike localization deals with...
