Not interested in the game, but excited at the prospect of it doing well and encouraging more Japanese games to Steam.
Why not?

It IS pretty short if that helps, around 10-15 hours.Pretty well settled into the games I'm playing at the moment and am anticipating by the time I'm bored with them I'm hoping something like Diablo 3 will be out and dominate my time. If it's out for cheap and I'm done with my games I'll look into it more but yeah I'm just not really looking for a new game in general at the moment, I'm well looked after right now

Kinda hoping that the pc release would include the soundtrack and super arrange to Felghana, even if I should buy them just directly from Falcom.
Also, TiTS. People love TiTS.
I was hoping for TiTS, but Ys is always good, especially the best Ys.
I didn't like Ys VI or I&II DS, but I'll give the series another shot if this PC version is good.
If I'm a very good boy and eat all my vegetables, do you think they might one day bring out Xanadu Next?
I really meant any version (or latest release ) of it would be fine
How long do I have to wait for this anyhow?
I remember Stacking showing up on one of these a loooong time ago, and it just now showed up.
No set period. Sometimes days, sometimes weeks, sometimes months. Sometimes never!
Then what's VI's excuse? That's because those are absolutely the shittiest games in the whole series. Like, the DS port is awful and Falcom had nothing to do with it.

It's probably my least favorite of the games I've played (that or Ys I), but I still enjoyed it. Granted, I played the PC version and not the abysmal PSP port. On the contrary, Oath in Felghana and Origin both use the same engine and play similarly, but they're my two favorite games in the series.
So really, it might just depend on what you didn't like about it.

Of course this happens 2 hours after I buy the PSP version.
Don't get me wrong, Vita is nice, but PC is always infinitely superior.
Yeah, IMO Origin and Felghana are much improved despite running on the same engine. Origin in particular has fun mechanics with the different playstyles between the three main characters. I also just don't like the aesthetics of Ys 6 very much.
It's still a fun game though, and a lot of people like it because it was their first exposure to the series.
You don't like the aesthetics of Ys 6? I'm stunned.
I think the PC version is beautiful.
I know you like your dark games ctrayne, but this is taking it too far
VI is Napishtim, right (if I'm getting my roman numerals right)?
So have you not played Ys 5 or what

Oh, this has nothing to do with dark games. I just think a lot of the scenery is boring. The island was pretty, but I seem recall lots of bland caves, ruins and cliffsides too.
Yeah, yeah, this comes up every time. I would argue that Ys V is great because it was ambitious and trying out new territory for the series. It had a large scope with some really nice subplots, a great mock-orchestral soundtrack, a huge world with tons of variety in locations, a beautiful muted color palette, understated character design, customizable magic spells, thrust/swing sword styles, a useable shield that actually blocks things, and the use of 3D space and a jump button. It was a pretty big undertaking compared to anything Falcom had done before. There's all kinds of crazy stuff in the game, and it has a grand scale.

Dem earthy tones.
It was also one of the very few console games Falcom developed in-house up to that point. Considering all these things, people give it way too much hate. I actually get really tired of "lol Ys V". It's quite a neat game, but people can't seem to understand why someone might appreciate it. Yes, it takes a certain mindset and willingness to overlook issues, but it's a fine game.
In comparison, Ys VI is just another action game. It's not bad at all, but it's kind of unremarkable. Ys V, along with Legend of Xanadu I & II, were pretty ambitious projects in comparison.
Ys 5 is the antithesis of everything Ys stands for. The primary draw to Ys for many people is the speed and the rocking music. Ys 5 is SLOW and the music is a dramatic departure. I personally think Ys 3 and 5 are by far the lowest quality games in the series in terms of gameplay.
Going from Ys 5 to Ys 6 was an incredible experience for me. Finally, finally Falcom figured out how to do fast, addictive and satisfying push-button action combat.

Well, I guess I don't really have preconceived notions about what Ys is and isn't allowed to be or what it stands for. I mean, Ys Seven's gameplay is as much a departure for the series as Ys V was.
As I mentioned earlier, Ys V had a lot of really neat stuff about it beyond being slow. Looking beyond that, you can see a lot of ambition. It's good to push in new directions.
Anyway, this is the same discussion that always happens with Ys V, so I'm going to leave it alone.
Edit: just to be clear, I hate the PS2 verion of Ys V. Turrible.
