I paid good money for this Dynex!
Hmm... I'll maybe stream the first hour or two of this game tonight... no mic, so I can't do my typical douchebag commentary, but uh... yeah.

That's assuming xsplit plays nicely with the game. Which it probably won't.

This looks so nice on the PC. I love my handhelds and adored my time with the game on PSP, but damn it is getting pushed in to the dust corner now.

Just bought it. Such a shame XSEED didn't just do this from the get go.

Well hopefully it will carry on and formulate in to a greater selection.

Yeah but that stretches vertically, so you're not getting 1:1 with the chosen resolution. You can add custom resolutions via the control panel if you need one.

I don't have the "change resolution" option, so I guess I can't create custom ones.

I had been considering getting the PSP version of this game ever since I got a Vita. With the release of the Steam version, I don't know which one I should get now. The PC version would be cool cuz of all the steamworks features, and the fact I can play it on my PC. However, the PSP version has some extra features, and would look cool on my Vita screen. They're both the same price, so it's a tough call atm.

PC looks and runs way better if it helps.

Maybe I just have noticed yet, but changing to 1440x900...the game doesnt look that bad.

Going to mess with my AMD settings/monitor settings to see how true 4:3 looks compared to this. Unless the hud will be even sharper or something.

PC version IMO

Is there a way to move faster in this game than just run? I'm waiting for it to download still but I'm just curious since I rolled everywhere in Ys7.

You get a dash ability late on. Its faster than regular run but not as fast as Ys 7 roll.
Actually, once I get dash, I never turn it off. It becomes the regular game speed for me.

Edit: Damnit, Aeana! :p

I have both versions, and the PC version looks a lot better imo. Like way better due to the higher resoultion.

Doing a little triple-dipping tonite... so any word on an Origin release date? That's the one I really am dying for, since I haven't played it yet.

SON OF A BITCH, haha.

Second boss. I finally do everything perfectly, but I keep getting hit by the lightning every single time. We exchange blows but she hits me first and GAME OVER... BUT THE BOSS IS DYING. Nooooooo, haha. How cruel.

How farfetched would it be for Falcom/XSEED to commission Bluepoint Games or any of those studios that are good at HD re-releases of games, so they can port Ys Seven to PC?

I want my 1080p/60 Ys Seven. (drools)

Ys 7 is already being ported to PC for the Chinese market, to be released on June 20. However, it'll be a fairly barebones port (likely not without its share of issues).

Apparently Wyrdwad is working on the editing for that one now. No idea as far as a release date, but apparently it's not too far off. I'd guess May/June given some off-hand comments, but that's entirely speculation on my part.

I'd imagine the chances of commissioning another company to port such a niche game would be zero. But what would be less surprising would be Falcom themselves porting the game...

Actually, I seem to recall hearing some Chinese company was porting the game to PC, but I think it was a shitty company who'll probably screw up.

How hard can it be to make a usable port of a game to a platform that is 100 times more powerful? I'd give the chinese port a chance.

The PC port of Zero no Kiseki has lots of issues, particularly with sound effects cutting out and it also doesn't run at 60 FPS all the time (or even most of the time, I'd say). It's not a good port at all. The Ys 7 port is by the same company, sooo.

Here's a comparison shot though: http://www.ali213.net/news/html/2011-11/28182.html

Wow, I suck. Can't beat the first boss :p Awesome music for it, though. I'm considering buying the game for a friend. His PC sucks, so this would be a good and fun game for him, I think. But... I'm broke D:

Yeah he was tricky, died 10 times to him and got
achievement :)

I'm probably getting this instead of the psp one for my Vita, but no widescreen? Ehhh.

Wonder if the work on the widescreen patch can carry over to Ys Origin and Trails in the Sky. That'd be nice, and seemingly bring a few more on board.

Something interesting I noticed and one of the more clever ways to use achievements: I noticed that one of them is awarded for screwing up a sidequest. I'd be very interested to see reactions of people screwing up there and getting an achievement for it, only to immediately reload and do it right.
