Saw one screenshot. Looks thoroughly 16-bit, which is obviously not a bad thing.
I just saw one screenshot, too! As other poster said, it looks 16-bitish. Sadly, it's low-res so you can't appreciate everything 100%. Scrooge is in it!
Welp, saw a scan.
Looks decent.
I want to see it too. I can't find it.
Duck Tales sidequest confirmed - in my dreamsI just saw one screenshot, too! As other poster said, it looks 16-bitish. Sadly, it's low-res so you can't appreciate everything 100%. Scrooge is in it!
Duck Tales sidequest confirmed - in my dreams
(they should drop the Epic Mickey 2 name)
Wow, amazing. 2D sprite work back in action, and in 3D. Colour me excited.

Is it going to be called "Epic Mickey 2"? From what I've read the console sequel isn't even going to be officially titled 'Epic Mickey 2" Instead it's going to be "Epic Mickey: The Power of Two". So I assume the 3DS game will just be "Epic Mickey: The Power of Illusion"
Hopefully the box art puts great emphasis on the subtitle "Power of Illusion", so people realize they are very different games.
I think there is co-op with oswald in this game as well. It could have others. Hopefully, more details come out soon.Just saw the screenshot.
damm, i disn't think it would look THAT retro. Damm i'm hyped now. And all that in 3D? GIMME GIMME!
Any word on Multi/2 player-mode? That was the freaking best part anout Castle of Ilussion.
I was worried people wouldn't be making anymore 2D sprite based games on the 3DS due to better polygonal performance, but the new screens inspire more confidence that 2D sprite based games won't die out at retail.
Ah cool, thanks for the info! Let's just wait for info on online or local.I think there is co-op with oswald in this game as well. It could have others. Hopefully, more details come out soon.
I see what you are saying, and obviously you are correct, as we don't have a final title on any of these different versions yet. It's worth keeping in mind though that while we wait for more news these games are all being announced and hyped under the Epic Mickey 2 banner.
I would like to see them drop the Epic Mickey part of the title from the 3DS version entirely, as it is clearly its own game and shouldn't be associated with the primary version of Epic Mickey 2 on Wii. Not giving the 3DS game its own identity could (and will in my opinion) negatively impact sales, as it did with Sonic Colours, which appeared on both Wii and DS, as two very different games which shared everything from the title to the cover art to the marketing material in general.
Screenshot is a major gamechanger, thought it might be an iffy-looking 3D game but this pleases me immensely, also seeing the likes of Scrooge warms the cockles of me heart, hope it has a lot of other older characters in there too (psst Julius the cat should be in here, just sayin)
But yeah, get the gameplay down pat and this will most certainly be getting my money, or picking it over the home console version for sure at least : )
looks great. I'm so glad that they (apparently) use real pixelart.
go to the banned nintendo site
Apart from using it as marketing (see my post above) both games are tied in story and characters. Again, why the fuck will you not call it Epic Mickey.
They dont even share the same exact title, and im pretty sure they will not have even the same cover art, so no, it isnt similar to the Sonic case. Also add that the quality of the Sonic Colors game in portable was in no way good.
Yep. I guess it was part of the wording; don't know if from the original article or the summary. Since to many, pixelart is "hand drawn sprites" more because of the way it is done (i.e. not 3D models); than by actually looking like a drawing (like Rayman Origins).Looks more like pixelart than hand-drawn, no?
When I see a handheld with the same name as a console game, it screams 'me too'. Not sure how this reflects to other consumers, but if I was a Mickey fan, I'd pick up Epic Mickey 2 for Wii/PS360 AND Mickey's Adventure : Castle of Illusions for 3DS.
If the handheld is a success, now they have a separate pillar.
Atleast drop the '2'. This game is completely different than the first Epic Mickey, there is no reason to label it a sequel. Seems unjust to call this 'the handheld version' to what appears to be a neat game.

There's that too. Also Disney marketing and ads in tv.
This.Just. need. Castlevania.
Power of Illusion is being put together by DreamRift, the studio behind 2011's Monster Tale for the Nintendo DS. The game, which is its own side-scrolling, platforming title (instead of a mere port of The Power of Two), is a follow-up to Epic Mickey, but more interestingly, it's also a follow-up to Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, a 1990 game for the Sega Genesis!
