Really annoying that all these 'unamed developer sources' are coming out the woodwork saying things like 'Wii U is the same power of even less than the PS360' ...
I refuse to believe that a console that produced that Zelda demo in real time is anything less than at least twice as powerful as PS360.
The character / texture detail, lighting and other effects like water ect are just not possible on current consoles.
It was also produced on one of the very first dev kits in a short space of time.
From what i have read on here the Wii U specs should read like this -
The 360 has a graphics card that is in power terms 240 GFLOPS
The Wii U has a graphics card that is in power terms at least 1000 (rumoured to be 1200) GFLOPS
The 360 has 512MB's of Ram.
Version 4 of the Wii U dev kit has 3 GB's of Ram (most dev kits have twice as much Ram as the retail console tho so it will have 1.5 GB's of Ram).
The Wii U's CPU is around the same as the 360's but it has a separate chip for sound which is a big deal as around a third of this gen's CPU power on consoles is used for Audio on games so it will perfom around 30% better.
Thats at least 4 times the power of a 360 Graphically, 3 times the ammount of Ram and a CPU that perform 30% more efficiently with the added bonus of a Tablet controller you can play when the HDTV is being used for either Wii U games, Nintendo Store games or Internet / Media.
Im annoyed that developers arent going to make third party Wii U games that look / perform like a mid range gaming PC (1080p / 60fps / Improved textures, effects ect) but meh ...
If every Nintendo first party game looks as good as that Wii U Zelda demo then i will be more than happy with it.
I have faith in Nintendo !, don't lose hope, roll on E3 !!!
