He's in the dream machine and playing out his emotions via fantasy. That's what he does.
He goes into the Dreamatorium, and Evil Abed manifests because he realizes things between he and Troy aren't going so well/are the darkest friendship.

excellent episode.. started out wah? (as usual) but once I got accustomed to the style, it all started clicking. just community bending genre conventions again.

Holy crap., A lot of times, I don't like it when Community does a completely-different concept episode, but they NAILED the Ken Burns doc format to a tee... the pan/zoom stills, the Ashokan-Farewell-esque usage, and the PBS-style pledge drive epilogue, which probably got the biggest laugh from me. I also liked Jeff's role in this too.

It might have a chance with a split vote, although most Who fans I know would go all out for The Doctor's Wife - and the good Doctor has rather dominated that award in recent years.

How is Pierce Sherman? For that matter, a lot of those comparisons don't really add up for me.
Oh I didn't even look into the person-specific comparisons. I just meant that each being comprable to sides of the Civil War is definitely intentional.
