True. I'm wondering if Sega has sunk most of the costs into the process already such that they really can't stop.

Hopefully the game is good so that they are rewarded for this effort. I hope they advertise.

Maybe I'm in the same category as Mr. Faylor then as I wouldn't quite consider that a port. Darksiders 2 OTOH seems to clearly be a port since all they will do is incorporate Wii U controls.

Seems unlikely. $399 would end up being 2+ times the price of the PS360 by the time the Wii U launches I imagine. They'd need an easily visible generational change to go there. I don't think people are expecting that right now (NB this is despite being presumably more powerful).

The more pertinent reason is that proving that he used to be a journalist in no way provides the mods with evidence that he has legitimate access to Wii U information.

Yeah I'd suggest not a ground up build but some Nintendo techies helping out here and there with pushing the hardware might do wonders to differentiate the version.

Oh I'm not disagreeing with you. That's why I posed those things as questions. As it stands we have no info to say one way or the other. Though for me I don't really consider multi-plats as ports either if they are released at the same time.

I had completely forgotten about this.
With this, the free middleware, the collection of input from developers, etc.. you can see that they're trying. So I'm a bit perplexed when folks claim that Nintendo doesn't try to woo third parties enough, or that they treat 'em poorly.

It's things like this that make me wonder if Nintendo will foot the bill to port games like Resident Evil 6 or GTA V to Wii U. Its a horrible precident to set really, but if a publisher tells them they aren't bringing a major multiplatform release over b/c its late in the dev cycle and they can't allocate the resources, is it in Nintendo's best interest to fund the port?

Yup it's still there. Nothing to add but they brushed over a point that would be quite pertinent to all these claims of "Wii U less powerful" and "NO, Wii U more powerful". The point was simply that we should look at the range of quality on the PS3. Naughty Dog pushes that thing to the max and others just don't. You could almost be forgiven for thinking they were two different machines if you saw the bottom of the barrel next to the cream of the crop.
